The Lord Is Prophet

Deuteronomy 18:15

“The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me [Moses] from among you, from your countrymen (brothers, brethren). You shall listen to Him."

    Matthew 21:11, 12

When Jesus had entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds replied, “This is Jesus, The Prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

    Luke 7:16

A sense of awe swept over all of them, and they glorified God. "A great Prophet has appeared among us!" they said. "God has visited His people!"

    Acts 3:22, 23

For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He tells you. Everyone who does not listen to Him will be completely cut off from among His people.’

The Son of The Highest

HUIOS HUPSISTOS
(hwee'-os hoop'-sis-tos)
THE SON OF THE HIGHEST

LUKE 1:32
He shall be great, and shall be called The Son of The Highest: and The Lord God shall give to Him the throne of his father David.

THE SON
Isaiah 9:6, 7
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over His kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from that time and forevermore. The zeal of The LORD of Hosts will accomplish this.

Matthew 1:23 (referencing Isaiah 7:14)
“Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).
Luke 1:31
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His Name JESUS.
John 1:14
And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of The only begotten of The Father,) full of grace and truth.

THE MOST HIGH/HIGHEST
Psalm 87:5
And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and The Highest Himself shall establish her.

Daniel 7:21, 22
As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and prevailing against them, Until The Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given to the saints of The Most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

Psalm 47:2
For The LORD Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.

Psalm 78:35
And they remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer

Speak The Father's Word

     Want to hear something amazing?

John 8:28, 29
So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up The Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing on My own, but speak exactly what The Father has taught Me. He who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him.”

Jesus could only speak what His Father spoke to Him BECAUSE HE IS THE WORD OF GOD. In the general population, most of us cannot speak what another is thinking. (On a side note, my husband and I have been finishing each other's sentences since we were dating.) But Jesus being GOD'S WORD can only speak GOD'S WORD! How awesome is that to read and understand!
John 1:14 tells us this and we know it to be TRUE: "And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of The only begotten of The Father,) full of grace and truth."
And here in Luke chapter one we see that God placed His Word inside Mary's womb. She would be the only ever to carry The Word in her womb; the rest of us carry Him in our hearts and minds!
    Luke 1:31-35
(31) And, behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and you shall call His Name JESUS
(32) He shall be great, and shall be called The Son of The Highest: and The Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David:
(33) And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end.
(34) Then said Mary to the angel, "How shall this be, since I know no man?"
(35) And the angel said to her, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of The Highest shall overshadow you: therefore, also, that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called The Son of God."
And being God's Word He was indeed never alone! How could The Word go anywhere without God? For God's Word is God! Amazing. Grace.
We who believe on The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ for our saving grace are living in Christ Who lives in God Who lives in His Word which lives in us! I'm so excited! Such love is mine! Such grace is mine! Such joy and wonder is mine!

Names of Christ - Skandalon Petra

SKANDALON PETRA
(skan'-dal-on pet'-ra)
    ROCK OF OFFENSE

As it is written: "Behold, I lay in Zion a Stumbling Stone and Rock of Offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."

Isaiah 28:16
So this is what The Lord GOD says: "See, I lay a Stone in Zion, a Tested Stone, a Precious Cornerstone, a Sure Foundation; the one who believes will never be shaken."

Romans 10:11, 13
It is just as the Scripture says: "Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame." ..... For whosoever shall call upon The Name of The Lord shall be saved.

GIVE ME JESUS - Fernando Ortega

Putting all my hope in a rock may seem strange to you, but this Rock is God's Rock. The Living Chief Cornerstone upon which all other living stones are built. This edifice cannot be toppled, nor can it be torn down. We have built our hope of eternity and salvation upon God's Rock. Though the storms of life may whip against this Rock and Chief Cornerstone with their angry, divisive winds, they will not prevail.
We live because Christ Jesus lives. We stand because Christ stands. We are steadfast and immovable because our Savior Jesus Christ is steadfast and immovable.
The One Who created all things is The One Who died for us. A sinless Lamb He took our place on the cross, bearing all of our sins upon Himself. A conquering Lamb He rose from the land of the dead, becoming our Victor over sin, death, hell and the grave. He walked out of the tomb and into our hearts. Because He is The Foundation of our faith from time immemorial.
In what or whom have you placed your trust, your faith? If it is anything less than the blood of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, then you have erred and need to take a closer look at what God says and what you believe to be true. There is only one Truth and that Truth is JESUS CHRIST.

The Lord Is - Sun and Shield

PSALM 84:11

For The LORD God is a Sun and a Shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.

Revelation 21:23

And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Isaiah 60:19

The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but The LORD shall be unto thee an Everlasting Light, and thy God thy glory.

Psalm 3:3

But Thou, O LORD, art a Shield for me; my Glory, and The Lifter up of mine head.

Right now people are excited about the solar eclipse that will be happening this week, when the sun is completely covered by the moon and darkness will be upon the land briefly. But someday, both sun and moon will vanish, for their usefulness will have faded. I think that is the more exciting event to look forward to and I'm so glad I'm going to see The Light of heaven someday!

Names of Christ - Jesus Is Life

JOHN 11:25, 26

Jesus said to her, "I am The Resurrection and The Life: he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. Whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe?"

John 5:21
For just as The Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also The Son gives life to whom He will.

John 5:26
For as The Father has life in Himself, so also He has granted The Son to have life in Himself.

Colossians 3:4
When Christ, Who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Jesus is Life. Everything else is death. Every god in every nation will be broken and they who worship these idols, their statues and images, shall bow their knees in homage to The Lord God, Jehovah. Isaiah 45:23; Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:10.
We who believe in Jesus Christ choose to worship and serve our Savior God on this side of life's coin as well as the other side. There is coming a day when every eye shall see Him and know Who He is: for them it will be too late to commit. Revelation 1:7; Matthew 16:27.
Jesus is Life Eternal. In Him we live and move and have our being - Acts 17:28. His Word tells us here in John 11:26 that we live in Him...if we believe in Him. That means forever and ever without end.
Jesus is The Door, death is the last stepping stone before the believer's entrance into the eternal presence of God. John 10:7, 9. Though we know that God is with us now, then we shall see Him face to face and live. 2 Corinthians 3:18.
The question still remains: Do you believe?

The Lord Is - - October 2023

YASHA
(pronounced yaw-shah')
SAVIOR

Isaiah 60:16
You will drink the milk of nations and nurse at the breasts of royalty; you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

SAVIOR: Deliverer

Luke 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ The Lord.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Acts 5:31
Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
1 John 4:14
And we have seen and do testify that The Father sent The Son to be the Saviour of the world.
Jude 1:25
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Given to everyone to be Savior, but the decision to believe so and receive Him as such must be made on an individual basis. The Lord is MY Savior. Sent to be The Savior of the world and WHOSOEVER believes will be saved by Him.
    Romans 10:8-10, 13
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved. ..... for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

    MAOZ
(pronounced maw-oze')
STRENGTH

Psalm 27:1
A Psalm of David. The LORD is my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the Strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The LORD is Safety, Protection; a Fortress to be reckoned with but which none can tear down, nor overthrow. He is Stronghold and Defense. Why should I be afraid of anyone or anything when I have The LORD and He has me?
Remember, God is a personal God. Therefore the believer can rightly say, "my" when referring to Who God Is. MY Light. MY Salvation. Strength of MY Life. I became His when I believed His Word and accepted Him by Faith in His Word. I am His and He is mine.
And He's coming back to get me, get all His people, soon. Are you one of them?

OZ MIGDAL
(pronounced oze mig-dawl')
STRONG TOWER

Proverbs 18:10
The Name of The LORD is a Strong Tower: the righteous run into it, and is safe.

Exodus 3:14, 15
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”
God also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, The God of your fathers—The God of Abraham, The God of Isaac, and The God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

MY ROCK
2 Samuel 22:3
My God is my Rock, in whom I take Refuge, my Shield, and The Horn of my Salvation. My Stronghold, my Refuge, and my Savior, You save me from violence.

MY FORTRESS
Psalm 144:2
He is my Steadfast Love and my Fortress, my Stronghold and my Deliverer. He is my Shield, in whom I take Refuge, who subdues peoples under me.

MY REFUGE
Psalm 61:3
For You have been my Refuge, a Tower of Strength against the enemy.

JEHOVAH 'ERECH APPAYIM

JEHOVAH 'ERECH APPAYIM
(YAH-WEH 'AREK APH)
THE LORD IS SLOW TO ANGER
Nahum 1:3
The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. His path is in the whirlwind and storm, and clouds are the dust beneath His feet.

Slow to anger means more than patient, it is longsuffering or allowing for long stretches of time at a time.
John 3:16-17 tells us God loves the world of people He creates, that He didn't send His Son to condemn us but to save us.
The Bible says God is slow to anger, it doesn't say God never gets angry. Eventually, the longsuffering will end, God will move against those people and nations who have refused to repent and turn to Him; then, you better hope and pray you are not one of them.
This passage in Nahum is speaking of Nineveh, and the destruction which came upon the city and its inhabitants who refused to turn their hearts to God.
But because we know The Word of God is Living and breathing, we know that what happened then could and will happen even in our day.
To day is your day of salvation. Call upon the name of the LORD and walk in His ways today, while it is still today. Keep in His Word and His Word will keep in you.

JEHOVAH-QANNA

JEHOVAH-QANNA
THE LORD IS JEALOUS

For you shall worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is JEALOUS, is a jealous God. -- EXODUS 34:14

With God there is no coexist, only GOD. He is the zero-tolerance God. When Moses asked, "Who shall I tell the people sent me to them?" God did not reply I am (name of any god here) but I AM THAT I AM.

Just because a person chooses anyone, anything or nothing to believe in does not mean God will give that person(s) a pass when they die.
All of our worship, our love, our focus must be directed in His direction. BUT, though God demands our love and worship, He does NOT force it: we must make the choice to love Him in return. And out of that reciprocal love our worship will flow.

Our God is a consuming fire: Deuteronomy 4:24; Hebrews 12:29. Everything that is not of Him is consumed by Him. And other gods, idols, are not of Him. All such are destroyed by His fire, consumed away as if they never were, which they aren't.

JEHOVAH-SHALOM

THE LORD MY PEACE

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

In other words, what have to fear when our hearts are aligned with God's? Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved."

Isaiah 9:6 says Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. Romans 5:1 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our LORD Jesus Christ."

I have this peace. I have peace with God through Jesus Christ my LORD because I believe that He Is and that God sent Him to die on the cross in my place and raised Him from the dead, showing Christ to be God's Promise of Salvation to all men everywhere.
Getting this peace is easy. Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are God's only begotten Son, that You died on the cross and rose from the dead for me. I recognize that I have sinned against You, against Your Word, and repent of all my wicked ways. Oh God, forgive my wretchedness! Cleanse my heart, wash me clean and make me wholly holy unto You. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit that I might be able to live daily in You, live in obedience to Your Word. Remember me, O LORD.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Not By Myself

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

"I" -- personal pronoun
"can do" -- am able to accomplish
"all things" -- that task which has been assigned me
"through Christ" -- not my own will power or personal motivations
"who strengthens me" -- Jehovah-Tsori (Psalm 19:14), Jehovah-'Ez-Lami (Psalm 28:7)

Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalm 28:7
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

What does God want me to do? Be saved from an eternity in hell. Where does He tell me this? John 3:16, 17 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
But that can't be all God wants me to do, right? Right. Next, God wants me to be filled with His Holy Spirit so I can do the rest of the 'chore list' God has prepared for me to do. Acts 1:4, 8 "...wait for the promise of The Father..." and in verse 8 Jesus tells they who have believed on Him for salvation " you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come on you..".
Why do we need the power of God's Holy Spirit upon us? Acts 1:8 "and you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth."
Where are we God's witnesses in the world around us? In Jerusalem (our own city) Judaea (our own country) in Samaria (countries that border ours), the uttermost parts of the earth (everywhere else that God sends us).
How are we God's witnesses to the world? Mark 16:15 "..Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature".  By preaching the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ we are being God's witnesses. We believe it, we live it, we speak it to anyone who will listen and hear it.
Does every believer need The Holy Spirit? Absolutely! We are not able to function in God's Kingdom without the guidance and leadership of The Holy Spirit working in us. Remember: we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us. How does He strengthen us? With The Comforter which God sent to us after Jesus returned to His Father in heaven.
There are so many other chores God wants us to do to accomplish His will in our lives and in the lives of those we share the gospel with that it will take at least another study. Or two.

Bethlehem Ephratah: Flourishing Bread

"But thou, Beth'-le-hem Eph'ra-tah, though thou be little among the thousands of Ju'dah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Is'ra-el; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."
Micah 5:2

Beth'-le-hem: House of Bread
Eph'ra-tah: Fruitful, Flourishing

Ju'dah: I will praise The Lord {Genesis 29:35}
Is'ra-el: Power with God {Genesis 32:28}

"Has not the Scripture said, 'That Christ comes of the seed of Da'vid, and out of the town of Beth'le-hem, where Da'vid was?" John 8:42

"And thou Beth'le-hem, in the land of Ju'da, art not the least among the princes of Ju'da: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule My people Is'ra-el." Matthew 2:6

"And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jes'se, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots." I-sa'iah 11:1

"Behold, the days come, saith The Lord, that I will raise unto Da'vid a righteous and Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In His days Ju'dah shall be saved, and Is'ra-el shall dwell safely: and this is His Name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS." Jeremiah 23:5,6

"And one of the elders said unto me, 'Weep not: behold, The Lion of the tribe of Ju'da, the Root of Da'vid, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof." Revelation 5:5

"Blessed be The Lord God of Is'ra-el; for He has visited and redeemed His people, And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant Da'vid." Luke 1:68,69

"I shall see Him, but not now: I shall behold Him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Ja'cob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Is'ra-el, and shall smite the corners of Mo'ab, and destroy all the children of Sheth." Numbers 24:17

In Your Tabernacle

Revelation 21:3 states that at a future and permanent time "the Tabernacle of God is with men".
This Tabernacle is Christ Jesus, God's Son.

The Tabernacle of God stated as such in Revelation 21:3 is that same Tabernacle to which David referred in Psalm 61:4.

I will abide in Your Tabernacle for ever:
I will trust in the covert of your wings.

At both times, the word 'tabernacle' refers to a dwelling, a tent which can be seen from afar. These are not the only two verses, however, which mean tent or dwelling.

In The Old Testament of The Bible the word 'tabernacle' with this meaning is referred to 182 times; in The New Testament, 15 times. Of these references, here are two more to think on:

>Psalm 27:5-6 "For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion, in the secret of His Tabernacle shall He hide me: He shall set me upon a Rock. And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in His Tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises unto The Lord."

>Hebrews 9:1-12 "But Christ being come a high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of the building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."

And while the word 'covert' may trip some up, it simply means 'hiding place, secret place, protection'.

Se'lah is a musical pause, a suspension of music in between verses.
