Names of Christ - Jesus Is The Life

IESOUS ZOE
(pronounced ee-ay-soos'  dzo-ay')
JESUS IS THE LIFE

John 14:6
Jesus said to them, "I Am The Way, The Truth, And The Life. No one comes to The Father but by Me."

Whether we are speaking of this life we now live or the life we who believe will one day live on the other side of death, this word 'zoe' is applicable. It refers to the life we are given when we are born into this world. It also refers to the life eternal the born again believer will have after death. For Christ Jesus is part of the Triune God Who created life from the beginning.
THE CREATED LIFE
    Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
    Genesis 2:7
And The LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
    Psalm 139:13
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
    Job 10:11
You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
THE BORN AGAIN LIFE
    John 1:4
In Him was Life, and The Life was The Light of men.
    John 5:26
For as The Father has Life in Himself, so also He has granted The Son to have Life in Himself.
    1 John 5:11, 12
And this is that Testimony: God has given us Eternal Life, and this Life is in His Son.  Whoever has The Son has Life; whoever does not have The Son of God does not have Life.
    Psalm 36:9
For with You is The Fountain of Life; in Your Light we see Light. [(cf) John 4:14].

From the moment of conception there is life. Whether it is the baby being formed in the mother's womb or the born again believer being transformed by The Holy Spirit, there is life. As infants, we take our first breath with mild shock, for we have left the relative darkness and warmth of our mothers and find ourselves in a wide-open, airy, somewhat colder and brighter place.
When we first believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, the wonder is even more amazing. We have left the darkness of sin and shame, exchanging that place for the Light and Life of a Loving God and Merciful Savior. Our first breath in Life in Christ is amazing. We have drawn into our souls the unimaginable grace that saves us from eternal damnation and punishment. We find ourselves in a wide open garden, a meadow full of wonderful things which God has prepared for the believers.
As babies, God 'knit us' in our mothers' wombs. As believers, God weaves us into Himself through His Word and His Spirit. As believers, we form the body of Christ, the church, Whom He gave Himself for. As born again believers, we recognize Christ as The Head of the church and choose to be transformed into Him on a daily basis by being obedient to The Spirit's lead.

BORN AGAIN BY WATER & BY BLOOD
    John 3:5
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and The Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."
    Titus 3:5
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by The Holy Spirit.

As a child grows in life, so, too, must a child of God grow in Life. We grow in The Life of Christ after Christ is written on our hearts by The Holy Spirit at our new birth. We seek out God in His Word and His Word is daily applied to our hearts and our minds by His Holy Spirit. This is wisdom. This is Life.
And when we draw our last breath in life, when death tries to embrace our souls, we take our first breath in Eternity. We will leave this frail body of death and decay, and rise in new bodies that will never die. Because LIFE ETERNAL is Living in us now. What a Way to go!

Jesus Is The Truth

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, "I Am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man comes to The Father, but by Me."

Declarative statements leave no room for doubt. I AM  is a declarative statement of fact. When The Word of God speaks to us in such a way, we can believe that it is True. Every Word of God is Truth. Because Jesus Christ Is Truth.
When time is nearing its reign, Jesus will appear on a white horse bringing judgment and war against the people who have chosen not to believe that He Is The Only Begotten Son of God The Father.
    Revelation 19: 11, 13
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and He that sat upon him was called FAITHFUL AND TRUE, and in righteousness he does judge and make war.
And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His Name is called THE WORD OF GOD
    John 1:14
And THE WORD was made flesh, and dwelled among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of The Only Begotten of The Father,) full of grace and TRUTH.

What is Truth? When it comes to believing Who God is, there is only ONE TRUTH.
GOD IS GOD AND THERE IS NO OTHER.
    Exodus 15:11
Who is like Thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
    Exodus 3:14, 15
And God said to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM:" and He said, "Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you." And God said moreover to Moses, "Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, THE LORD GOD of your fathers, The God of Abraham, The God of Isaac, and The God of Jacob has sent me to you: this is My Name forever, and this is My memorial unto all generations."
    Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that The LORD your God, He is God, The Faithful God, Who keeps covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations.
    Isaiah 45:5, 6
I Am The LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside Me: I girded you, though you have not known Me: that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside Me. I Am The LORD, and there is none else.

GOD IS SAVIOR
    Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
    Romans 3:21-24
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
    Psalm 27:1
The LORD is My Light and My Salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is The Strength of My Life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Do you know God? Is He your Savior, too? God loves you and He sent His Son here to die for you, to pay the penalty for your sins and mine. Jesus Christ is The Promised Messiah and there is no other Savior. He died a wretched death on the cross. He defeated hell and the grave and death when He walked out of the open tomb in a glorified body.
Before He ever was nailed to the cross, He was unrecognizable because of the torture and torment He went through. By the time He was nailed on the cross, (nails being 6-inch iron spikes) Jesus was a bloody mess. Strips of shredded skin covered His back. His beard had been manually ripped from His face. A crown of thorns had been forced into the top of His head and just above His brow. He had been pummeled and beaten and made fun of by the men who were assaulting Him.
Unrecognizable in death. Unrecognizable in Life. One body that was laid down in Love for me and you got an upgrade after death. And all the suffering He received in His life gained Him a great reward from His heavenly Father. He is The Name Above All Names. He is The Name By Which All Men Are Saved. He is The Lamb of God Who Takes Away The Sins of The World. He is The Lion of The Tribe of Judah. He is The Only  Begotten of The Father. And so, so much more.
Jesus Is The Truth. And you better believe it!

Names of Jesus - I AM THE WAY

HAYAH HODOS
(pronounced ha-YAH ho-DOS)
I AM THE WAY

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I Am The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No one comes to The Father except through Me."

Do you want to get close(r) to God? Jesus is The Way to do so? He is the only Way, all other ways are fruitless. God's Way, God's Word, is Faithful and True. [Revelation 22:6]
He is The Road, The Path, by which we must all travel. He is The Way of Holiness on which our travels begin when we believe that Jesus Christ Is Lord, that His Name is our Salvation. Which, indeed, is true, for His Name--Jesus--means "He Saves".
    Matthew 1:21
“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His Name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”
    Matthew 1:25
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called His Name JESUS
God's Eternal Presence is The Most Holy Place in the tabernacle. Only the high priest could enter there once every year and only if he met strict requirements. Jesus is our High Priest.
    Hebrews 10:19-22
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter The Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
    Jesus is The Way.
He is The Way of Holiness. Isaiah 35:8
He is The Way of Righteousness. Psalm 116:5; Jeremiah 23:6; Malachi 4:2
He is The Way of Justification. Romans 5:9, 18
He is The Way of Sanctification. Job 23:10; Malachi 3:3
The Way of The Lord is perfect and flawless. Psalm 18:30
The Way of The Lord is Strength for the upright, but destruction for the workers of iniquity. Proverbs 10:29
The Way is narrow. Matthew 7:14
The Way is Life. John 11:25
    1 John 5:10-12
Whoever believes in The Son of God has this Testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in The Testimony that God has given about His Son.
And this is that Testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
Whoever has The Son has life; whoever does not have The Son of God does not have life.

Names of Jesus - Leon Iouda - Lion of Judah

LEON IOUDA
(pronounced leh-own ee-oo'-das)
THE LION OF JUDAH

Revelation 5:5
Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, The Lion of the tribe of Judah, The Root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Micah 5:2
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come forth for Me, One to be Ruler over Israel--One Whose origins are of old, from the days of eternity. (cf) John 1:1-3
Genesis 49:10
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto Him shall the gathering of the people be.

This is no ordinary lion. Nor is He the fearful lion, circling his hunting grounds. This is THE LION of the tribe of Judah, Whose arrival was foretold by the prophet Micah.  This is Shiloh (pronounced SHEE-loh), The Messiah.
Both His human nature and His divine nature are emphasized here. As The Lion of the tribe of Judah Christ is The Branch. As The Root of David, He is The One From Whom the lineage of David began. He is both man and God at the same time. And only Christ can open The Book With Seven Seals, for no one else in time had the authority to do so.
Christ is Foundation, The Rock, The Chief Cornerstone upon which our faith is built, upon which the church He loves is built: He is The Beginning of all things and He is The End. Not only is He Foundation, He is Covering. He covers the church with His covenant of grace and mercy, which is found in the blood which flowed from His Body on the cross of Calvary.
As The Lion of the tribe of Judah, Christ has triumphed over sin once and for all when He died on the cross as the scapegoat for all of humanity's sins. He became The Substitutionary Lamb, with the sins of the whole world placed upon His shoulders. Why did He do that for us? Because of His great love for people everywhere:
John 3:16, 17
For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Jesus Christ is The Messiah Who was prophesied from the beginning in The Written Word of God. Who has been long looked for by all who have sought God and lived. For though the flesh and bones of the seekers are long since turned to dust, because of their faith in God, and The Promise of God, they are with God even now. They didn't just have faith in God, they believed God and obeyed God, even if it cost them their very lives. Hebrews 11
The Lion of the tribe of Judah has TRIUMPHED over sin (at the cross), over death, hell and the grave (in the garden) and has risen from the dead to bring us into a New Eternal Life in Him. Though He was innocent He was killed nonetheless. Though He never sinned He paid the penalty for sin, which is death and hell. The Lion died, yet lives He even now, for He is seated at the right hand of God His Father, interceding for His people.
And when we all get to heaven, we will see Him in all His glory; a glory we cannot even begin to imagine. This Jesus is The Lion of Judah, The Root of David: The One Who Has Triumphed Over Sin and Death and The Grave (Hades/Hell).
1 Corinthians 15:55
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
This Lion is calling you and I to His side, to share His gospel message of salvation through Him. "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 4:17) "Repent, and be baptized in The Name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of The Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38). Turn from doing what you want and do what God wants. Even if you and I think we are doing nothing wrong, if we are not obeying God's Word, then we are most definitely doing something wrong. And that disobedience separates us from God.
Separation from God is permanent if we refuse to answer His call of repentance. In Luke 16:22-31 we read of two men who died and went to the grave: one into Paradise and one into hell. The one who believed God and obeyed God in his lifetime went to Paradise. The one who did not believe God and disobeyed God in his lifetime went to hell. Neither man could leave the places in which they were sent. Only one Man could do that, when He Triumphed over death and the grave. And that Man is Jesus Christ, The Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Where are you headed? What is your destination right now were you to die today? Are you ready to spend an eternity without knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior? Or are you ready to spend an eternity knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior
The choice is yours. Choose wisely.

(pronounced ä-gä-pä'-ō) (ah-gah-PAH-oh)
THE BELOVED ONE

Ephesians 1:5, 6
He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will,  to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in The Beloved One.

Names of Christ - Banner of Love

DEGEL
(pronounced  deh'-gel)
BANNER

Song of Solomon 2:4
He brought me to the banqueting house, and His Banner over me was Love

In this love story the king has brought his young bride to his banqueting house, the house of wine. Yet, knowing this is the tale of The King of Kings and His church, we see even more clearly that this not merely a warehouse filled with wine barrels and tasting rooms. This is the place of covenant relationship. It is an intimate relationship. And, therefore, a very special and holy relationship.

Here, The King shelters His bride with His Banner of Protection, with a Love that sacrificed Itself on the altar of the cross. It is here under this Banner that we are enfolded with His wings, given refuge in the stormy times and warmth in the cold of the darkness in which we live.
Here, The King invites His church to follow Him, to walk beside Him. Here The King invites His bride to "Eat this Bread" and "Drink this Wine". [Heavenly Bread--John 6:33, 35, 51; Communion of Remembrance--1 Corinthians 11:23-26]
Here, The King has brought His bride. "He brought me to". We rejoice that Christ has brought us to Himself. We rejoice that our King has made us His own (people). We rejoice that The King loves us so much that He gave His life for us that we might have Eternal Life through Him. [John 3:16; John 11:25, 26].
Here, in this banqueting house, and here, under His Banner of Love, we commit to being His beloved church, joining in His Covenant of Love beyond measure.

Names of God - The Lord My Banner

JEHOVAH-NISSI
(pronounced yah-way nace)
THE LORD MY BANNER

Exodus 17:15
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it, THE LORD MY BANNER.
God is a personal God. Belief must come on an individual basis. Each of us is presented with the opportunity to either (1) Believe in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ for our Salvation and follow Him or (2) Refuse to believe in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ and rebel against Him.
Those of us who choose to obey have built an altar and said:
The Lord is My Banner (under Whose protection I am saved), is My Standard (by which I live), is My Flag (under Whose Name I submit and surrender), is My Ensign (Whose warnings I heed).
Isaiah 11:12
He will raise a Banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will collect the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
John 3:14
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son of Man be lifted up: that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.
Isaiah 45:22
Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I Am God, and there is no other.
Mark 8:34, 35
Then Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples, and He told them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and for the gospel will save it."
Isaiah 43:11
I, yes I, Am The LORD, and there is no Savior but Me.
Acts 4:12 "Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
We need to build an altar, repent of our sins and transgressions against God for not acknowledging that He is God over all, first and foremost in our lives. We need to acknowledge that GOD IS GOD and THERE IS NO OTHER.
Psalm 80:3
Restore us, O God, and cause Your face to shine upon us, that we may be saved.
Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to The LORD, that He may have compassion, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I know now that You are indeed Lord of All creation, Lord of heaven and earth, Lord of all kingdoms and ruler-ships. Forgive me of this my sin against You. Lead me in Your ways, according to Your will and purpose for my life. Continue to teach me Your Word, planting it deep within my heart, and sanctify me with Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus' Most Holy Name,
Amen.

Names of Christ - Son of Man

ANTHROPÓS HUIS
(pronounced AN-thro-pos hwee-os')
SON OF MAN

Mark 9:31
For He taught His disciples, and said to them, "The Son of Man is delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day."

Every time the phrase 'Son of Man' is used in the four gospels, it is used by Jesus Himself to reinforce that He is both God and man. It is a Messianic phrase reminding us that He is God's Son and man's son at the same time.
[Matthew 12:8; 26:24, 64] [Mark 8:31; 9:12, 31; 14:21]
 [Luke 9:22; 22:22] [John 5:27; 12:34]
Daniel prophesied in Daniel 7:13, 14 of seeing The Son of Man with The Ancient of Days: "I saw in the night visions, and, behold, One like The Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to The Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. And there was given Him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve Him: His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."
In His flesh He will die, yet in His divinity He will overcome death and hell, and rise from the grave, throwing off the encumbrances of the flesh. He will ascend on clouds into the eternal presence of His Father, and be seated at His right hand. But first, He must die.
    Not because of His divinity, but because He will bear the weight of the punishment of sins that have been committed by all the world since sin first began in man. From the time Adam and Eve sinned until the last man and woman have sinned, the massive weight will be placed on His shoulders, and the presence of sin on Himself will cause God to turn away from His only begotten Son. {Matthew 27:45, 46; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 8:3; Philippians 2:7, 8; Isaiah 53:6}
Two nights and three days His body will lie in the grave. But on the third day He will rise, just as He had said that He would. But not in the body that He had died in. Does a flower bring it's seed with it when it blooms? No. The seed goes into the ground and breaks apart to shoot the stem up through the ground where it will bloom, spreading its fragrance in the wind. He rose in a new, glorified body.
So, too, will the righteous rise out of the ground with new bodies, as Christ did. For He could not allow Himself to be touched in His glorified body as it was. (He was sinless in life, in death and in the resurrection. Sin no longer covered Him for He had overcome sin's malicious grasp.) John 20:17, Jesus speaking to Mary, "Jesus said to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to My brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to My God, and your God."
I tell you now that you may hear, The Son of Man is Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. He died for me and for you. By faith in His Name (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Romans 10:9, 10, 13) we are saved from sin's punishment: death and hell, which shall also be destroyed. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Revelation 19:5-15 describes the second resurrection of the dead and their eternal reward. I tell you now it is  better to be in the first resurrection of the dead.

Lord of The Sabbath-Sabaton Kurios

SABATON KURIOS
(pronounced sab'-bat-on koo'-ree-os)
LORD OF THE SABBATH

Luke 6:5
Then Jesus declared, "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

Kurios: Supreme Authority, Master, Absolute Ownership, Covenant Lordship, Sovereign
Sabbath: Day of rest in The Lord, Day set apart to cease from work/labors and spend all that Day with God

    Genesis 2:2-3
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Sanctified: Consecrated, dedicated, set apart from

Here in Luke 6:5 Jesus is responding to the hypercritical comments of the Pharisees, who were religious but unbelieving. They did not practice what they preached. Here, the disciples were hungry enough to break off ears of corn and eat them raw. This was seen by the Pharisees as 'work', and therefore was illegal, unlawful.
But Jesus tells them that not only is He The Son of Man, but He is The Lord of The Sabbath as well. He is The Rest into which we enter. When we hunger, He feeds us. When we thirst, He gives us drink. Here, He gives them corn. And grace.
Such a rebuke the Pharisees heard, but did not receive; for at that time they began meet and talk about how to get rid of this Teacher, this Prophet. For He spoke against their hypocritic ways with authority they refused to accept.
Jesus Christ is still Lord of The Sabbath. How are we resting in Him? How are we honoring Him on His Day? Are we spending the Day with Him? Or are we wasting our Days in idle play and relaxation? Have we considered the consequences of not resting in God on His Day?
O be careful little eyes what you see, little ears what you hear, little tongues what you speak, little feet where you walk, little hands what you do, little heart what you feel, little mind what you think.

Jehovah: self-Existent, Eternal
Elyown: Supreme, Uppermost
El: Strength, Mighty One, Almighty

Psalm 57:2

The Lord Is My Chosen Portion And My Cup

 YHVH MANAH KOWC
(pronounced yeh-ho-vaw' maw-naw' koce)
THE LORD IS MY CHOSEN PORTION AND MY CUP

Psalm 16:5
The LORD is My Chosen Portion and My Cup: You have made my lot secure.
*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 4490 & 3563
Chosen Portion: part, weighed out, divided to (inheritance), ration
My Cup: container, to hold together, (my) lot
Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is The Strength of My Heart and My Portion forever.
Psalm 116:13
I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon The Name of The LORD.
Psalm 119:57
The LORD is My Portion; I have promised to keep Your words.
Psalm 142:5
I cry to You, O LORD: "You are My Refuge, My Portion in the land of the living."
Jeremiah 10:16
The Portion of Jacob is not like these, for He is The Maker of all things, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance--the LORD of Hosts is His Name.
Philippians 3:8-12
Yet, indeed, I count all things as loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Jesus Christ My Lord: for Whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness of God upon faith, that I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Hebrews 12:1, 2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, The Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Names of Christ - The Light of Life

 John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I Am The Light of The World. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have The Light of Life.”

1 John 1:5-7
And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.  But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

John 12:46
I have come into the world as a Light, so that no one who believes in Me should remain in darkness.

The Prophecy in Isaiah speaks of God's only begotten Son being The Light: from Isaiah 49, we read this in verse 6:
He says: “It is not enough for You to be My Servant, to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the protected ones of Israel. I will also make You a Light for the nations, to bring My salvation to the ends of the earth.” Which Paul quotes in Acts 13:47.

And when we believe that Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son, that He died on the cross for us and that His blood washes our sins away, that He overcame death, hell and the grave giving us new life in Him, then have we seen The Light of Life. He shines in our hearts and begins to radiate in our thoughts, in the words we speak and in our actions. We cannot become God's holy people if we do not believe in God's Holy Son first.
    2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His Light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
God cannot give us His Holy Spirit until we give Him our hearts and lives for His Son Christ Jesus to live in, that we might live in Christ.
Ephesians 5:8, 9
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in The Lord. Walk as children of Light, for the fruit of The Light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
Colossians 1:13, 14
He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins
We are called out of darkness into His Marvelous Light according to Peter:
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His Marvelous Light
God is calling us even yet to come out of the darkness of this world into The Light of His glorious grace in Christ Jesus. As long as we have breath in our bodies, we have the opportunity to make an informed decision to believe or not believe that Jesus Christ Is Lord. Are you willing to turn your back on darkness which leads to condemnation and judgment of God or will you face The Light of God's Marvelous Light - Jesus Christ - and walk this path of holiness which God has set before you?
I made my choice over 30 years ago. I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. I believe that Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son. I believe that Jesus Christ overcame death, hell and the grave and walked out of the tomb into the garden to give us new life in Him. I believe. Are you ready to believe? What, if anything, is holding you back?

Ruler In Israel

THE PROPHECY

 MICAH 5:2
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little amongst the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth to Me that is to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

THE FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY
Matthew 2:1, 2
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him.

THE PROPHECY
Zechariah 9:9
Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

THE FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY
John 12:14, 15
Finding a young donkey, Jesus sat on it, as it is written:  “Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion. See, your King is coming, seated on the colt of a donkey.”

PROPHECY
Revelation 19:16
And He has on His robe and on His thigh a Name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

As you can see, this last prophecy about The Ruler of Israel has not yet been fulfilled. That day is coming. And soon. Are you ready for The King's return?

He Shall Be Called - Lawgiver

NOMOTHETES
(pronounced no-mo-the-TAYS)
LAWGIVER

ISAIAH 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

James 4:12
There is one Lawgiver, Who is able to save and to destroy: who are you to judge another?

Isaiah 33:22
For the LORD is our Judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King. It is He who will save us.

John 5:22, 23
Furthermore, The Father judges no one, but has assigned all judgment to The Son, / so that all may honor The Son just as they honor The Father. Whoever does not honor The Son does not honor The Father who sent Him.

Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Galatians 4:4, 5
But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, / to redeem those under the law, that we might receive our adoption as sons.

Though Moses received the Law of God written on tablets of stone with the finger/power of God, Ezekiel knew that the day was coming when the Law of God would be written on hearts. This Law of God is THE WORD OF GOD come to us in flesh (John 1:14), crucified for our sins and resurrected for our eternal lives (John 3:16), The Law and The Lawgiver now reside within us through the power of God's Holy Spirit, Who has written, with the finger of God, THE WORD OF GOD, on the hearts of we who believe  that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.

There is no one higher, no one greater, no one more able to save than THE WORD OF GOD. None other deserves our praise, our worship, our obeisance than THE WORD OF GOD.

Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him The Name above all names, / that at The Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, / and every tongue confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the glory of God The Father.

His Name Is Jesus

MATTHEW 1:21

And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His Name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.

JESUS
In the Hebrew His Name is spelled Iésous and pronounced " ee-ay-soos' ".

Word Origin: Derived from the Hebrew name יְהוֹשׁוּעַ (Yehoshua), which is a combination of יְהוָה (YHWH, the name of God) and יָשַׁע (yasha, meaning "to save" or "to deliver").

God Saves us through His Son Jesus Christ, Whom He sent to this world in the form of a small, helpless infant, but Who would one day be nailed to a cross with the sins of the whole world on His shoulders.
GOD SAVES
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
Acts 4:12
"Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
Isaiah 53:4-6
Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows; yet we considered Him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. / But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. / We all like sheep have gone astray, each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 45:22
Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

HIS NAME IS JESUS
Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the Name above all names, / that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, / and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
1 Timothy 2:5-6
For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
who gave Himself as a ransom for all—The Testimony that was given at just the right time.

KING OF GLORY - Third Day
