Songs in the Night

Job 35:10 "But none say, Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night?"

I never had to say that before. You know, that part about where God is. My only question lately is "Where is my song in the night?" Why can't I hear them? Not all of them have left entirely. I get glimpses and sparks, but sometimes the songs just fly away, ahead of me.

I can't even sing right now. It's as if someone takes my breath when I open my mouth to sing. Even a simple inhalation is exhausting. The very energy I need to live and breathe is under attack. But it's alright you know. Cause I know where God my Maker is.

He's right here with me. Not only does God hold my hand, He holds me in HIS hand. Hold hands with someone. Right now. Where is your hand? Outside the other person's hand? Is there a little space, emptiness, perhaps between your two hands? Are you afraid to hold hands with the person next to you? Grasp, clasp, embrace the hand that holds yours. And you will find that the other will do the same. You are in his/her hand. He/she is in yours. For dear life. And, life is dear, indeed. God holds you and I like that when we hold onto Him.

When I sit up for more than a few minutes, the knot in my back clenches, and I have to lay down. Which is why having this nice glider/recliner by my desk is beyond wonderful. Sometimes, though, even that isn't enough. Course, then I can't reach the keyboard. And, no, I can't use a journal any more. I can't write neatly enough for it to be legible. And most of the shorthand I knew is gone. I'm getting tired now. And I have only been up an hour.

I do not like being this sick. I am tired now and I have only been up an hour. Of course, writing in here takes energy too. Talking is draining. Hobbling is draining. Taking a shower is dangerous. Our tub is narrow and a normal shower chair is too big. When I get dizzy, I hold onto the shower rail. And then I have to get out. But the shower massager nozzle is the only thing that gives relief. Cause it massages my head like you wouldn't believe.

I was searching for a really beautiful image of song in the night, and before I switched to image search the Holy Spirit brought me here: "Songs in the Night" by C.H. Spurgeon. He's my favorite. And I wanted to share it with you. http://www.biblebb.com/files/spurgeon/2558.htm.

Kept and Saved

Kept and Saved

I am Christian;
Watch me soar.
See my broken body
On the floor.
I've been sifted;
The chaff has blown away.
All that remains is what Christ
has kept and saved!

Kept by His Love,
Saved by His Blood!
All that remains is what Christ
has kept and saved!

We are the Church;
Watch us soar.
See our broken heart
On the floor.
We've been sifted;
The chaff has blown away.
All that remains is what Christ
has kept and saved!

Kept by His Love,
Saved by His Blood!
All that remains is what Christ
has kept and saved!

We Are Called

We Are Called
Hebrews 9:15
"And for this cause He is the Mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first Testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance."

By Whom are we called?
Called by Christ.......
in righteousness --- Isaiah 42:6 " I the Lord have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and will give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles."
by His Name --- Jeremiah 15:16 "Your words were found, and I did eat them; and Your word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by Your Name, O Lord God of hosts"
He knows our names --- Isaiah 43:1 "But now, thus saith the Lord that created you, O Jacob, and He that formed you, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name, you are mine."

Where did He call us from?
Called from sin.........
out of darkness --- 1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;that you should show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."
out of the night --- 1 Samuel 3:3, 4 "And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep: that the Lord called Samuel, and he answered, Here am I."
out of Egypt (bondage) --- Matthew 2:15 ".........out of Egypt have I called my son..." {though this verse refers to Christ and his earthly parents, we understand that Egypt also represents sin and the bonds of sin, so I used it here}

Why are we called?
Called into His service.........
to Peace --- 1 Corinthians 7:15 "....but God has called us to peace..."
to Glory & Virtue --- "According as His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue...."
to Friendship --- John 15:15 "From here on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you."
to Witness --- Isaiah 43:10 "You are My witnesses, says the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me."

Why should we answer God's call?
Called to Salvation...........
Come and See --- John 4:29 "Come, see a man, which told me all the things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?"
Come and Dine --- John 21:12 "Jesus said unto them, Come and dine. And none of them dared ask Him, Who are you? knowing that it was the Lord."
Come and Live --- Revelation 22:17 "And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."

I heard God call my name and I answered Him.

Instrument of Worship

Place Your fingers
Across my keys
And I will play
Your melodies
Set Your lips
To my reeds
And I will follow
Where You lead
All You gotta do
Is touch me
All You gotta do is
Touch me
Strum the strings
Of my heart
And whisper
In the dark
A simple song of joy
To me
To me
Bang the drum
Bah-boom, bah-bum
And I will sing
I will sing
All You gotta do
Is touch me
All You gotta do is
Touch me
You touch me
You touch me

Chrysalis

He’s changing me from glory to glory.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:2

Amos 8:11

This photo shows the result of famine and drought on the physical level.
Our spirit man is in this shape and form as a result of spiritual famine.

Amos 8:11
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord
A drought is an extended period of months or years when a region notes a deficiency in its water supply
Drought - In sports, a drought refers to instances in which a team has gone a lengthy period of time without accomplishing some goal (e.g. making the playoffs or winning a championship).
Period of starvation for large portions of a population. Famine often results from a sharp downturn in food supply, such as two consecutive years of drought
A famine is a widespread shortage of food that may apply to any faunal species, which phenomenon is usually accompanied by regional malnutrition ...
A vision statement outlines what an company wants to be. It focuses on tomorrow; it is inspirational; it provides clear decision-making criteria; and it is timeless
A narrative description of a future state (vision) to help keep project teams focused. A concise statement of what needs to change, typically the promoter, sponsor, or leader’s “agenda.” A compelling, conceptual image of the desired future.

Steps to Famine of the hearing of the Word of the Lord
Malachi 2:2-4, 7-10
Refuse to hear
Refuse to believe
Refuse to worship
God curses you
God curses your blessings
Your generations are undone
Your solemn feasts, your holy days, are offensive
God makes you contemptible and base before all people, because you have not followed His ways fully.
Dissention and treachery are among you, because you have broken the covenant God ordained.
Micah 3:6
No vision
No understanding
Dark days
Shame
Confusion
God does not answer
