The Son of The Highest

HUIOS HUPSISTOS
(hwee'-os hoop'-sis-tos)
THE SON OF THE HIGHEST

LUKE 1:32
He shall be great, and shall be called The Son of The Highest: and The Lord God shall give to Him the throne of his father David.

THE SON
Isaiah 9:6, 7
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over His kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from that time and forevermore. The zeal of The LORD of Hosts will accomplish this.

Matthew 1:23 (referencing Isaiah 7:14)
“Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).
Luke 1:31
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His Name JESUS.
John 1:14
And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of The only begotten of The Father,) full of grace and truth.

THE MOST HIGH/HIGHEST
Psalm 87:5
And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and The Highest Himself shall establish her.

Daniel 7:21, 22
As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and prevailing against them, Until The Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given to the saints of The Most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

Psalm 47:2
For The LORD Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.

Psalm 78:35
And they remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer

Speak The Father's Word

     Want to hear something amazing?

John 8:28, 29
So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up The Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing on My own, but speak exactly what The Father has taught Me. He who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him.”

Jesus could only speak what His Father spoke to Him BECAUSE HE IS THE WORD OF GOD. In the general population, most of us cannot speak what another is thinking. (On a side note, my husband and I have been finishing each other's sentences since we were dating.) But Jesus being GOD'S WORD can only speak GOD'S WORD! How awesome is that to read and understand!
John 1:14 tells us this and we know it to be TRUE: "And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of The only begotten of The Father,) full of grace and truth."
And here in Luke chapter one we see that God placed His Word inside Mary's womb. She would be the only ever to carry The Word in her womb; the rest of us carry Him in our hearts and minds!
    Luke 1:31-35
(31) And, behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and you shall call His Name JESUS
(32) He shall be great, and shall be called The Son of The Highest: and The Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David:
(33) And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end.
(34) Then said Mary to the angel, "How shall this be, since I know no man?"
(35) And the angel said to her, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of The Highest shall overshadow you: therefore, also, that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called The Son of God."
And being God's Word He was indeed never alone! How could The Word go anywhere without God? For God's Word is God! Amazing. Grace.
We who believe on The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ for our saving grace are living in Christ Who lives in God Who lives in His Word which lives in us! I'm so excited! Such love is mine! Such grace is mine! Such joy and wonder is mine!

YASHA
(pronounced yaw-shah')
SAVIOR

Isaiah 60:16
You will drink the milk of nations and nurse at the breasts of royalty; you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

SAVIOR: Deliverer

Luke 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ The Lord.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Acts 5:31
Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
1 John 4:14
And we have seen and do testify that The Father sent The Son to be the Saviour of the world.
Jude 1:25
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Given to everyone to be Savior, but the decision to believe so and receive Him as such must be made on an individual basis. The Lord is MY Savior. Sent to be The Savior of the world and WHOSOEVER believes will be saved by Him.
    Romans 10:8-10, 13
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved. ..... for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

    MAOZ
(pronounced maw-oze')
STRENGTH

Psalm 27:1
A Psalm of David. The LORD is my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the Strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The LORD is Safety, Protection; a Fortress to be reckoned with but which none can tear down, nor overthrow. He is Stronghold and Defense. Why should I be afraid of anyone or anything when I have The LORD and He has me?
Remember, God is a personal God. Therefore the believer can rightly say, "my" when referring to Who God Is. MY Light. MY Salvation. Strength of MY Life. I became His when I believed His Word and accepted Him by Faith in His Word. I am His and He is mine.
And He's coming back to get me, get all His people, soon. Are you one of them?

OZ MIGDAL
(pronounced oze mig-dawl')
STRONG TOWER

Proverbs 18:10
The Name of The LORD is a Strong Tower: the righteous run into it, and is safe.

Exodus 3:14, 15
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”
God also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, The God of your fathers—The God of Abraham, The God of Isaac, and The God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

MY ROCK
2 Samuel 22:3
My God is my Rock, in whom I take Refuge, my Shield, and The Horn of my Salvation. My Stronghold, my Refuge, and my Savior, You save me from violence.

MY FORTRESS
Psalm 144:2
He is my Steadfast Love and my Fortress, my Stronghold and my Deliverer. He is my Shield, in whom I take Refuge, who subdues peoples under me.

MY REFUGE
Psalm 61:3
For You have been my Refuge, a Tower of Strength against the enemy.

The Lord Is - - - September 2023

    Exodus 6:2
And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him,
I AM THE LORD.

    Exodus 3:14,15
God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
God also told Moses, "Say to the Israelites, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob--has sent me to you.' This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation."

This is a powerful statement and only a powerful GOD can make such a statement. The LORD God is such. He is Omnipotent: All powerful. He is Omniscient: All knowing. He is Omnipresent: Everywhere at the same time.
    Omniscient: 1 John 3:20; Acts 1:24; Isaiah 40:28; 1 Chronicles 28:9; Isaiah 43:10-13
    Omnipotent: Revelation 19:6; Psalm 147:5; Joshua 4:24; Daniel 2:20-22; Romans 1:20.
    Omnipresent: Psalm 139:7-10; Jeremiah 23:24; Proverbs 15:3; Colossians 1:17.
Isn't it amazing that such a God could love us? Could extend the right arm of His righteousness to us? That God would wrap His Powerful Word in frail flesh and send Him to die as punishment for our sins?
For The Word, His Son, was and is perfect and in Him is no sin; in Him is no darkness. For Jesus Christ is wholly holy, He is Light and Love sent to bring mankind (women and men, girls and boys) back to The Almighty God. He is sent to bring you and I back to God.
We need to throw ourselves on the mercy of His courts (at the cross), repent of our sins against God and be forgiven by Him. We need to become His people once more by allowing His Holy Spirit to transform us from unrighteous living to righteous living. To prepare us to be servants in His kingdom.
I would rather be a servant in my Father's house than do anything else anywhere else. Psalm 84:10 "For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."
LOVED,SAVED,FILLED

EL SHADDAY
(pronounced el-shad-dah'-ee)
GOD ALMIGHTY

Exodus 6:3
And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob by the name of GOD ALMIGHTY, but by My Name JEHOVAH was I not known by them.

Genesis 17:1
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. (NLT)

PATER PHOS
(pronounced pat-ayr' foce)
FATHER OF LIGHTS

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with Whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Matthew 7:11
So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

RUACH MISHPAT
(pronounced roo'-akh mish-pawt')
SPIRIT OF JUSTICE

Isaiah 28:6
A Spirit of Justice to Him who sits in judgment, and a Strength to those who repel the onslaught at the gate.

John 5:30
I can do nothing by Myself; I judge only as I hear. And My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

CHANNUN YHVH TSADDIQ
(pronounced khan-noon' yeh-ho-vaw' tsad-deek')
GRACIOUS IS THE LORD AND RIGHTEOUS

Psalm 116:5
The LORD is Gracious and Righteous; our God is full of compassion.

Exodus 34:6
Then the LORD passed in front of Moses and called out: "The LORD, the LORD God, is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness,"

Romans 2:4
Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you to repentance?

THURA
(pronounced thoo'-rah)
THE DOOR
John 10:9
I am The Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and come out, and find pasture.

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 2374
Door: opportunity, gate, entryway
'The name of Him who brings Salvation to those who follow His guidance.'

John 14:5-7
5. “Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?”
6. Jesus answered, “I am The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
7. "If you had known Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.

BASILEUS ISRAEL
(pronounced bas-il-yooce' is-rah-ale')
THE KING OF ISRAEL

John 12:13
They took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting: “Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the King of Israel!”

Psalm 118:26
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.

John 1:49
"Rabbi," Nathanael answered, "You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!"

Revelation 7:9, 10
9. After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
10. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

MELEK YAAQOB
(pronounced meh'-lek yah-ak-obe')
King of Jacob

Isaiah 41:21
“Present your case,” says the LORD. “Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob.

Argue your case before Me. Tell Me why you are right. Strong words from the LORD. Who would want to argue with God? Yet, many do. I have questioned Him, but questions are not arguments. "Bring forth your strong reasons".

Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they will become like wool."

Isaiah 41:1
“Be silent before Me, O islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them come forward and testify; let us together draw near for judgment."

Isaiah 42:26
"Remind Me, let us argue the matter together. State your case, so that you may be vindicated."

So you think your ways are better than My ways,  says the Lord. Show Me, prove yourself before Me. The power of God is greater than the power of any other god. No idol, nor idolater can stand before Him and claim it any other way.
When we come into the presence of The Lord God, we are suddenly aware that we are less and He is great, that we are unworthy and He is gracious. We begin to state our reasons for why our sin is right and He reminds us that His grace is greater, that He is Savior and it is He Who washes away all unrighteousness: when we draw near and obey His Word.
When the judgement of God falls on the sin, it also falls on the unforgiven sinner. Though the sinner has testified on their own behalf why their sins are justifiable, truly they have not a leg to stand on. Their disobedience testifies against them to God.
When the righteous who have been forgiven come before God, Christ testifies on their behalf, for all God's people everywhere (throughout time and across land and sea) are hid in Christ. Our sins have been forgiven: we have trusted in the power of God and lived a righteous holy life before Him in Christ.
Before He was Israel's King, He was Jacob's King. Jacob, the usurper, who had a heart for God and who was loved by God. A man who was subject to his own desires, who ruled with his head (headstrong). Before he wrestled with God.
But now, after He wrestled with the angel of God, he asks for a blessing. His blessing is his new name: Israel, because he 'struggled with God'. ((Genesis 32:22-36))
Not only is The Lord God Jacob's King, but now we who have been washed in His Son's blood, can call Him our King as well. Hallelujah! To God be the glory, great things He has done! We call Him King. He calls us friends. And He has new names for us, as well (Revelation 2:17).

MAQOR CHAY MAYIM
(pronounced
maw-kore' khah'-ee mah'-yim)
FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER

Jeremiah 2:13
“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the Fountain of Living Water, and they have dug their own cisterns—broken cisterns that cannot hold water."

God is not speaking to the general populace here, but to His own people. His own people have deserted Him, their source of life and chosen to create their own wellsprings. What is He saying?
They have turned their backs on God, Who is the source of all life, both here and now and eternally.
They have chosen to set up their own systems of living, broken cisterns, which cannot contain life; broken doctrines which cannot save themselves nor their communities, for there is no Living Water in them, only dust. And God's people cannot live on dust.
Though our planet is 90% water, much of that is unpotable and it's getting worse, not better. When there is much rain, there is immense flooding. And the flood waters are more than just overflow of dams and levees: the sewers flood, water mains break, garbage is swept up into the floods. In other words, it's filthy, it's unpotable; not able to sustain life. Just like the hearts of God's people who had turned away from Him.
We cannot as God's people live like that. We need clean, pure Water to drink for ourselves and share with others. We need Jesus Christ living in us, the Holy Spirit of God filling us, pouring out of us into our hearts and lives (our wells) and overflowing into other people's hearts  and lives (their wells).
God's people are being reprimanded by God for forsaking Him, for turning from Him to other gods. Their cisterns are broken. Be warned now: God is The Fountain of Living Water and there is none other which can sustain God's people. We give all the glory to God for being our Lifesource!
John 4:1-26 tells us the historical account of Jesus and His encounter with a Samaritan woman who had come to the well to draw water, only to find Jesus who gave her Living Water. Hallelujah!
Come to the well and meet Jesus.

The Lord Is -- November

YHVH CHECED
(pronounced yeh-ho-vaw' kheh'-sed)

THE LORD IS MY STEADFAST LOVE

He is my Steadfast Love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.

Everything about this verse concerns warfare, especially spiritual warfare, so it seems unusual for the psalmist to write here about God being our Steadfast Love, doesn't it?

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 2617
Steadfast Love: goodness, kindness; lovingkindess, great mercy

While checed can be used to describe others' actions toward us, here it speaks of Who God Is to those who take refuge in Him, who are sheltered by Him in times of trouble, trial and tribulation.

Goodness
Exodus 34:6, 7
And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, "The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Kindness
Nehemiah 9:17
And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that Thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but Thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

Lovingkindness
Psalm 63:3
Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise Thee.

Great Mercy
Micah 7:18-20
(18) Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.
(19) He will turn again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
(20) You will perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which You have sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

Dear God,
You are my Steadfast Love. When I repent, You forgive me. When I seek Your face, You show mercy to me, though I do not deserve it. When I turn back to You, You turn Your face to me; You love me in spite of myself.
This day You are my God. I choose You above all else. You are the God who forgives, who shows compassion to all who seek to know You, and to have a closer relationship with You.
Lord God, You are a generous God, loving all people everywhere. Thank You for loving me when I was in an unlovable state, when I was covered n the muck of sin and the mire of my transgressions against You. Thank You for saving me and covering me with Yourself, with Your blood.
Thank You, Lord, for being a whisper away; closer than a brother, You are a Friend who never leaves me, nor forsakes me. Help me to lead others to You that they, too, may know Your wonderful Love.
In Jesus' Name, I pray
Amen.

ADONAY ELOHIM
(pronounced ad-o-noy 'el-o-heem' )
LORD MY GOD

Psalm 86:12
I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever.

When we say to God, You are our God, that's a collective congregational decision; a unified in spirit declaration.
But when we say to God, You are MY God, that's an individual personal decision; a cry, a whisper from the heart of 'I' to the heart of God.

2 Chronicles 2:4
Behold, I am about to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God to dedicate to Him for burning fragrant incense before Him, for displaying the showbread continuously, and for making burnt offerings every morning and evening as well as on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and appointed feasts of the LORD our God. This is ordained for Israel forever.

Solomon was getting ready to build a temple for the LORD, an actual standing immovable temple. But as Christians, when we give our hearts to God, we are giving Him a place to dwell within us, a permanent place for Him to live: as long as we remain in His Word, His Word will remain in us. As a born-again Christian, I reiterate: I need to remain in His Word that His Word would remain in me.

Psalm 30:2
O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.

When we need to be healed in every way, not just physically, but spiritually, we indeed seek God to heal us. For we know that He is the only Healer who can heal us from all diseases and ailments, for He created us. God heals broken bones, sore muscles, various diseases and sicknesses, allergies, mentally challenged people, aching hearts and removes sin from the sinner.
Doctors can put bones back together, but God does the restorative healing. Doctors can prescribe medicines, but God heals the body and mind. Nutritionists work with people to change their diets that their bodies would work more efficiently, but God is the ultimate Healer.
When the heart is overwhelmed by grief and trauma, God puts all our tears in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). God heals the brokenhearted and fills the cracks and breaks with His Love.
I am healed by the Grace of God and filled with the Love of God. My broken heart is strengthened in His Word and His Word thrives in me. There are no more tears to cry, though there are still sad times ahead.

Psalm 109:26,27
26. I am an object of scorn to my accusers; when they see me, they shake their heads.
27. Help me, O LORD my God; save me according to Your loving devotion.

When a Christian, a Christ-follower, suffers verbal abuse, many times we do cry out like David did. We cry for God to come and help us, for our ears cannot take it any longer. Our hearts are under attack and we begin to feel sorry for ourselves, when in fact, we must not let them get through our spiritual armor, but repel such darts of the enemy. Wouldn't it be nice if the evil words spat in our direction were to reverse direction and dart back to the speakers? But were that so, then the evil words that leave our lips when we are stressed or frustrated would then come back to us!
David cried out to God for God's salvation and deliverance. And though he did live to see it in his day, God answered David's cry through David's lineage. The Savior of the world would be born out of tribe of Judah (Hebrews 7:14; Revelation 5:5), of David's seed (Isaiah 11:1, 10; Romans 15:12).
I, too, have cried out to God to save me. He saved me from the first cry. He saved me from the situations in which I had placed myself. And He saved me from the clutches of death. God saved my soul and He lives in my heart. For God is the God of the whole world, of which I am but a small part, but God is the God of me, of 'I'.

God wants to be your personal God. He's calling you to be part of His family, a woven into His heart son or daughter, an intimate friend/servant in His kingdom.
As Joshua asked the people of Israel, in Joshua 24:15, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Is God your God?

PRINCE OF PEACE

Isaiah 9:6d
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Ephesians 2:14-22
For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has torn down the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace and reconciling both of them to God in one body through the cross, by which He extinguished their hostility.
He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. In Him the whole building is fitted together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you, too, are being built together into a dwelling place for God in His Spirit.
