Warrior of The Word - You Teach My Hands to War

Psalm 144:1
Blessed be The Lord,
My Strength, [My Rock],
Who teaches my hands to war,
and my fingers to fight.

The LORD MY Strength. He is MY Rock: Immovable and Unchanging. Rock-steady, never wavering. Someone on Whom I can rely. Someone Whose Name is high above all other names. Someone I can trust, fully and faithfully. ALL GLORY, ALl HONOR, ALL PRAISE to THE LORD.
Strength training is the main purpose given here in this verse. Repeated exercises which strengthen the hands and the arms enable a person to raise heavy weaponry, especially for physical combat. [I have never been in the military; I've just studied it a bit.] But David learned early in his adult life how to transition from sheepherder to warrior.
He had to learn how to defend himself from people who wanted him dead. And when he became king, this training helped him keep Judah safe and secure.
    2 Samuel 22:35
He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
    Psalm 18:34
He teaches my hands to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
HE TEACHES MY HANDS
Having surrendered my whole life to The Lord for Him to live through, my hands at this keyboard or holding a pen, have become His weapons. Instead of writing self-serving words I now write words that bring Him glory and honor. My heart belongs to The Lord, and therefore whatever The Spirit speaks to my heart, I want to write down that I may remember better The Word that has been given, whether that Word is in Bible Study or songwriting.
Our hands, fingers, arms and shoulders are all involved in strength training. The Lord builds us up into mighty warriors through our daily obedience to His Word. The more of Him that is in us, the less there is of us in us. The weaknesses gradually leave the body as The Strength of The Lord takes hold.
We are able to overcome our enemies through our faith in our Lord God. We follow Him into battle willingly, ready to even lay down our lives for His Name's sake. There are many in the Bible who put their faith in action in battle. Hebrews 11:32-35 names a few of them in the Hall of Faith. And they trained for it.
Gideon was an unlikely defender of the faith. He was not only the youngest in his family, his clan was the weakest (poorest) of the tribes.  Like all of us, he questioned his ability to do that which The Lord is calling him to do: go into battle and defeat the enemy. "I Am with you" is all the armor any of us need. That and an obedient heart.
Whom The Lord calls into battle, He will arm and train. Bent knees or prostrated before The Lord in prayer and submission to His will, His call. Hands folded and fingers interlocked build an altar and recognize Him as LORD. The heart cries out when the voice cannot speak. The heart receives The Word of The Lord when the ears cannot. It is obedience and faithfulness to The Word of God that drives us to be teachable students in the art of spiritual warfare.
Whether we are poor in life or poor in spirit matters not when God calls us to do something. We apply the word "only" in our self-description. I am "only" this or "only" that: how can God use me to advance His kingdom? We've all said it at some point in our walk with Christ.
We step out in faith. That first step is the hardest to take, but the first step makes it possible to take the second, then the third, and so on and so forth. Soon we are not even aware of our walk, as it has not only become second nature, it is normal now to be obedient to The Lord. And awful to be disobedient. Doubt not. Fear not. Get up, mighty warrior, and rise above the enemy of your faith.
    THE LORD MY STRENGTH
Without the strength of The Lord, there would be no battle, for we would have lost before we had even begun. Therefore, the strength of The Lord is vital before every combat begins. We need Jesus living in us, His Holy Spirit living in us, to be our Strength. It is faith in Christ, believing that what God says is absolute Truth, that causes us to bring our hands together to clap in worship, to advance in prayer.
    Exodus 15:2
"The LORD is My Strength and Song, and He is become My Salvation: He is My God, and I will prepare Him a habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt Him."
    Psalm 28:7
"The LORD is My Strength and My Shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him."
Our strength is rooted securely in The Lord. It does not waver (doubt), nor does our faith bend to include other religions or religious factors in it. The Strength of The Lord in the believer's life is the joy we have in the shared, intimate, personal relationship we have with our LORD (YHWH {The Creator of The Covenant Relationship]) and SAVIOR (Redeemer {The One Who Redeems our souls from the hands of the enemy of our souls}).
Christians who are faithful in their walk with Christ are only able to do so because they (we) believe God when He speaks, even The Written Word of God in our Bibles. His Word if Faithful and True because He is Faithful and True. God is the first promise-keeper, whether the promises of God are for blessing or for condemnation, His promises are never compromise, but always righteous.
    THE LORD MY ROCK
    Psalm 18:2
"The LORD is My Rock, and My Fortress, and My Deliverer; My God, My strength, in Whom I will trust; My Buckler, and The Horn of My Salvation, and My High Tower."
The Lord is a personal God. Before we can join together in His community, each of us must make a decision to believe God and follow God's Son Jesus Christ. If you can say that The Lord God is your God, then you know that He is already your Rock, your Fortress, your Deliverer, your God, your strength, The One you trust, your buckler, The Horn of your salvation, and your High Tower.
The Lord My Rock is a Mighty Fortress, The One on Whom we rely, The One we turn to when trouble is overwhelming. The One we run to when calamity strikes. The One Who saves us, delivers us, shields us, surrounds us, stabilizes us. He is immovable.
With such a Rock-Steady foundation under us, around us, above us and within arm's reach of us, we are able to remain within His embrace, yet still go forth and conquer with these hand and fingers He has given us.
We are prayer warriors and we fight our battles on our knees with our Lord and Savior doing the heavy work in this battle. After all, the victory is already ours and the way through is The Way of the cross, The Way of the empty grave, The Way of Holiness. I've read the end of The Book and we win. Victory in Jesus is ours!

Fearless: Trust in The Lord - Psalm 27:1

Psalm 27:1
Though an army encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident.

What will I be confident in? The knowledge that THE LORD IS MINE and I am His. The knowledge that THE LORD IS MY LIGHT, MY SALVATION, and MY LIFE (verse 1).

Regardless of how the world attacks we who are of the kingdom of God, we have nothing to fear, nothing to dread. For THE LORD IS WITH US.

MY LIGHT
John 8:12
Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I Am The Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have The Light of Life.”
MY SALVATION
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth The Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
MY STRONGHOLD
Habakkuk 3:19
GOD The Lord is My Strength; He makes my feet like those of a deer; He makes me walk upon the heights! For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments.
WHOM SHALL I FEAR?
Isaiah 8:12, 13
“Do not call conspiracy everything these people regard as conspiracy. Do not fear what they fear; do not live in dread.
The LORD of Hosts is The One you shall regard as holy. Only He should be feared; only He should be dreaded."

The Lord Is Alpha

ALPHA
(al'-fah)
Revelation 1:8
I Am Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and The Ending, says The Lord, Which is, and Which was, and Which is to come, The Almighty.

The First, The Beginning, The Before Everything Else Came Into Existence. He Is God Almighty, Who came in the flesh to destroy the works of sin and restore His people to Himself.

    Isaiah 44:6
Thus says The LORD, The King and Redeemer of Israel, The LORD of Hosts: "I Am The First and I Am The Last, and there is no God but Me."
    John 1:1-3
In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made.
    Psalm 90:2
Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
    Colossians 1:16
For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.
    1 Corinthians 8:6
But to us there is but one God, The Father, of Whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom are all things, and we by Him.
    Psalm 33:6
By The Word of The LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by The Breath of His mouth.
    Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus The Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
    Revelation 21:6
And He said unto me, "It is done. I Am Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and The End. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."

Even in the void, He is. Genesis 1:2. Whether it is the darkness of the night sky or the seemingly darkness of the womb, Jesus is there. [Psalm 8:3; Psalm 139:13]. For He is Creator of all light and life. [Genesis 1:3; Psalm 100:3; John 1:4].
He is The First to Rise from the dead in a resurrected body; He is The Firstfruits. [1 Corinthians 15:20]. He is The Guarantor, guaranteeing for God's sons and daughters that that which has been given to God at the beginning, whether it is first and best of the harvest, or first born and unblemished of the flock, will be received by God and that what is left of the harvest and the flock will be blessed by God, and ultimately also belong to Him. [Ephesians 1:13, 14]. He is The First Offering to God from among the many who will follow in His Name, offering Himself to be God's Instrument of Salvation. [Luke 22:42; Hebrews 10:7].
And I'm so very thankful Jesus did that. I needed a Savior and He is mine.

The Lord Is My Keeper

THE LORD IS MY KEEPER
Psalm 121:5
The LORD is
your Keeper;
The LORD is
your shade
on your
right hand.

How The LORD Keeps His People
~Sanctified & Preserved Blameless
1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
~Sanctified By The Word of Truth
John 17:17
Sanctify them by The Truth; Your Word is Truth.
~Justified By His Blood and
~Saved By His Life
Romans 5:8-10
But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him! For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!

How The LORD Shades His People
~Given Grace by The Lord
Psalm 84:11
For The LORD God is a Sun and a Shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.
~Saved By Grace
Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved; and that not of yourselves.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
~The Name of The LORD Is Strength & Salvation
Proverbs 18:10
The Name of The LORD is a Strong Tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon The Name of The LORD shall be saved.
~Covered By A Permanent Covenant/Canopy
Isaiah 4:5, 6
Then The LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud of smoke by day and a glowing flame of fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a canopy, a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and the rain.
Ephesians 1:21
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Colossians 1:15-23 (specifically verse 18 here, for we know that the head of the body is over all the body. Therefore, the head is the canopy).
And He is The Head of the body, the church; He is The Beginning and Firstborn from among the dead, so that in all things He may have preeminence.
Revelation 22:5
There will be no more night in the city, and they will have no need for the light of a lamp or of the sun. For The Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever.

Once we have believed on The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation, we are entered into the covenant of grace. This covenant of grace requires us to Walk by Faith, not knowing the exact path or route by which Christ leads us, but we do know that wherever He walks, we want to go with Him. For life before knowing Him, and life lived without Him, is the worst way to go through life.
Romans 10:9-13 reminds us that salvation in Christ enters the ears first, then the heart, then is spoken by the mouth. Romans 10:10 "For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved." This Justification and Salvation are the Canopy which covers the believer, the born again in Christ.
We urge you, if you have not yet done so, to put your faith in Christ Jesus, for His return is nearer than when we first believed. [Romans 13:11-14]. He is only the Canopy for the believer, for His sheep, for His people; for not only His chosen, but them who choose Him back.

Names of God - YHWH ELOHIYM

YHWH ELOHIYM
(pronounced yah-way eh-lo-HEEM)
THE LORD HE IS GOD

Deuteronomy 4:39
Know therefore this day, and consider it in your heart, that
THE LORD HE IS GOD in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

There is only one God. He is Almighty God, The God of heaven and earth. He is Spirit. God is Omnipresent: He can be everywhere at the same time. God is Omniscient: knows all there is to know. And God is Omnipotent: all powerful.
God is in heaven above: all the heavenly places bear His imprint of creativity. No two stars are exactly like. Every planet is singular in structure. We give parts of the known universe names like Nebulae and Ursa Minor and Milky Way. Yet, God has named each one of His creation with names only He knows.
God is in His heaven, that far away place above and beyond the skies and outer space. And because He is Omnipresent, that heavenly place where His thrones are is only one area of His permanent residence [Sapphire Throne: Ezekiel 1:26; White Throne of Judgment: Revelation 20:11-15] . God inhabits (dwells within, lives in) the praises of His people [Psalm 22:3].
God is in His tabernacle. The tabernacle of God is both a physical dwellingplace and a spiritual dwellingplace. In the Old Testament the tabernacle was a tent like no other that had to be put together when God's people would settle in one place, then dismantled and carried to the next place, where it would be reassembled and the glory of God would settle into it, filling it completely.
In John 1:14, the glory of God is seen in Christ Jesus, Who is The Tabernacle of God and it is this Tabernacle of God that is with men [Revelation 21:3]--the people who believe that Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son, the people who believe on The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation.
Those of you who choose not to believe will never know the joy of being loved by God. You will never have an intimate, loving relationship with our heavenly Father. You condemn yourselves to hell and an eternity of torment in the lake of fire. But, you don't have to do that. There's still time to believe. There's still time to repent, to admit you have sinned against God, to turn away from the sins you have committed and turn your hearts and faces to The God of heaven and earth.
God is Creator. He created all things, all people for His glory. All the heavens and everything in them. All the earth and everything in it. From a black void to a colorful, peopled, nature-filled wonder. He created me. He created you. And when I turned my back on sin, and turned my face and my heart to my Creator, He created in me a new me through my belief on The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ. God wants to create in you a new creation, too. There's still time.
God is in His heaven and in His earth. Is He in you, too?

Names of God - The Lord My Banner

JEHOVAH-NISSI
(pronounced yah-way nace)
THE LORD MY BANNER

Exodus 17:15
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it, THE LORD MY BANNER.
God is a personal God. Belief must come on an individual basis. Each of us is presented with the opportunity to either (1) Believe in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ for our Salvation and follow Him or (2) Refuse to believe in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ and rebel against Him.
Those of us who choose to obey have built an altar and said:
The Lord is My Banner (under Whose protection I am saved), is My Standard (by which I live), is My Flag (under Whose Name I submit and surrender), is My Ensign (Whose warnings I heed).
Isaiah 11:12
He will raise a Banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will collect the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
John 3:14
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son of Man be lifted up: that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.
Isaiah 45:22
Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I Am God, and there is no other.
Mark 8:34, 35
Then Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples, and He told them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and for the gospel will save it."
Isaiah 43:11
I, yes I, Am The LORD, and there is no Savior but Me.
Acts 4:12 "Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
We need to build an altar, repent of our sins and transgressions against God for not acknowledging that He is God over all, first and foremost in our lives. We need to acknowledge that GOD IS GOD and THERE IS NO OTHER.
Psalm 80:3
Restore us, O God, and cause Your face to shine upon us, that we may be saved.
Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to The LORD, that He may have compassion, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I know now that You are indeed Lord of All creation, Lord of heaven and earth, Lord of all kingdoms and ruler-ships. Forgive me of this my sin against You. Lead me in Your ways, according to Your will and purpose for my life. Continue to teach me Your Word, planting it deep within my heart, and sanctify me with Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus' Most Holy Name,
Amen.

The Color of Worship - Yellow

Do not claim the sickness or sicknesses which attack your body. Do not say “my disease, my disorder, my illness”; that is a proprietary phrase claiming ownership over. We are sick, but we do not have sickness: sickness is attacking us. And what do we do when we are attacked? We fight back! But we fight with spiritual weapons.

I have been fighting back using worship, praise, thanksgiving, Scripture and prayer. There is no right order for using these weapons to fight against that which would destroy our bodies, our minds and our spirits.

Yes, we may occasionally forget and say “my” but we can correct ourselves by asking The Holy Spirit to remind us. Being the good friend He is, He will. He does.

I am healed in Jesus’ Name. You are healed in Jesus' Name. He is healed in Jesus' Name. She is healed in Jesus' Name. The Name which is above all names. ALL names. Names of diseases. Names of sicknesses. Names of disorders. Above the names of mental disease or mental defect. It is the Name Above All Names which heals those who want to be healed.

We are enveloped in healing for The Sun of Righteousness has healing in His wings. Malachi 4:2 “But to you who fear My Name, The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.” This healing is both curative (for the body) and deliverance (for the soul). It is the ultimate healing that we all desire, isn’t it?

I choose Jesus. JEHOVAH-ROPHE --THE LORD MY HEALER.

Luke 18:33 “They will flog Him and kill Him, and on the third day He will rise again.” And Jesus did rise…with healing in His wings. Not literal wings, like a bird, but spiritual wings, for He is, after all, The Sun of Righteousness, as stated in Malachi 4:2. Romans 6:4 “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life.” And in our newness of life, we are healed. We are delivered. We are cured. We are made new in every way. Isn’t God good for allowing us to be made new in Christ?

Did you know that the color yellow in the Bible is the color for healing? Think of that when you bang your shin on the coffee table and this magnificent bruise begins to form. First it is a darkish purple, almost black. Then blue and red. Then yellow. Yellow is the last color of the bruise to be visible on our bodies. And then the bruise is gone.

Isaiah 53:5 tells us that JESUS was bruised for our iniquities. John 19:1 JESUS was scourged, or flogged, if you will. In verse 2, a crown of thorns was put on his head. In verse 3 the soldiers beat him with their hands. You think his body was bruised from that? Mark 15:16-20 describes the mock worship and beating he received at the hands of the soldiers. Not just a few, either. A whole band, the Word says; the group of soldiers assigned to the military governor.

Beaten, beard ripped off His face, bruised, whipped/flogged, crucified. That’s my Jesus. He was crushed in spirit and body. The sins of the world weighed heavily upon him. He who had done no wrong would now be punished for the wrongs of the world. From Eve’s sin to the sins of this generation and the next, Jesus would die. His blood is on me.

That whipping He received in the Praetorium (courtyard) that day healed me. Isaiah 53:5 With his stripes we are healed. I believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son. I believe that I am healed in His Name. Bless that wonderful Name of Jesus!

Lord of The Sabbath-Sabaton Kurios

SABATON KURIOS
(pronounced sab'-bat-on koo'-ree-os)
LORD OF THE SABBATH

Luke 6:5
Then Jesus declared, "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

Kurios: Supreme Authority, Master, Absolute Ownership, Covenant Lordship, Sovereign
Sabbath: Day of rest in The Lord, Day set apart to cease from work/labors and spend all that Day with God

    Genesis 2:2-3
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Sanctified: Consecrated, dedicated, set apart from

Here in Luke 6:5 Jesus is responding to the hypercritical comments of the Pharisees, who were religious but unbelieving. They did not practice what they preached. Here, the disciples were hungry enough to break off ears of corn and eat them raw. This was seen by the Pharisees as 'work', and therefore was illegal, unlawful.
But Jesus tells them that not only is He The Son of Man, but He is The Lord of The Sabbath as well. He is The Rest into which we enter. When we hunger, He feeds us. When we thirst, He gives us drink. Here, He gives them corn. And grace.
Such a rebuke the Pharisees heard, but did not receive; for at that time they began meet and talk about how to get rid of this Teacher, this Prophet. For He spoke against their hypocritic ways with authority they refused to accept.
Jesus Christ is still Lord of The Sabbath. How are we resting in Him? How are we honoring Him on His Day? Are we spending the Day with Him? Or are we wasting our Days in idle play and relaxation? Have we considered the consequences of not resting in God on His Day?
O be careful little eyes what you see, little ears what you hear, little tongues what you speak, little feet where you walk, little hands what you do, little heart what you feel, little mind what you think.

The God of Our Salvation, My Salvation

 EL YESHUATENU
(pronounced  ale yeh-shoo-ah teh-noo)
The GOD Of OUR Salvation

EL YESHUATI
(pronounced ale yeh-shoo-ah tee)
The GOD of MY Salvation

God desires to save everyone.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Psalm 68:19
Blessed be The Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our Salvation! Selah.

But He also desires to have an ongoing daily personal relationship with each one of us, individually. God's only begotten Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, both collectively (all of us) and individually (each one of us, the whosoevers wherever we are).

Isaiah 12:2
Surely God is My Salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. For The LORD GOD is My Strength and My Song, and He also has become My Salvation.

Romans 10:11
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Romans 10:13
For, “Everyone who calls on The Name of The Lord will be saved.”
1 Peter 2:6
Therefore it is also contained in The Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a Chief Cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”

Though He calls nations to repent and turn to Him, God also calls each person within that nation to turn away from living a sinful life and live a holy life in Him and His Word. But He's not asking us to do this alone: He gives us His Holy Spirit to lead us through a deeper walk, a deeper understanding of Who God Is and what He wants from us.

We just need to talk to God and ask The Holy Spirit to lead us.

 KURIOS DOXA

LORD OF GLORY

1 Corinthians 2:8
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified The Lord of Glory.

GLORY: Honor, Splendor, Majesty, Praise, The Unspoken Manifestation of God

Pronounced: koo'-ree-os dox'-ah
According to my Helps/Studies, the word Kurios means "a person exercising absolute ownership rights"; Lord

This designation is used 722 times in Scripture. Repetition is meant to reinforce and imprint on us the fullness of The Word we are learning. It is not necessary for us to remember it in our minds, as what is being imprinted on our hearts is done spiritually and when we need it, The Holy Spirit will bring it to our lips and then we will speak it out. (Read all of 2 Corinthians 2)
When we sing The Doxology, we are praising His glory. But what is His glory? Absolute ownership rights. Lord. We recognize that Jesus Christ is LORD of ALL. Even us, especially us. For we are His craftsmanship. The believer in Christ is truly owned by His Lord and Savior and for this we give Him all the praise. From the depths of our hearts we cry out, "Holy, holy, holy is The Lord God Almighty! Worthy is The Lamb That Was Slain!"
His glory is His majesty. Majesty to rule, majesty to judge. Wonderful, beautiful glory. That which has not yet been seen by the believer still on this side of heaven but longed for even now.
Even the thief on the cross recognized Jesus Christ as Lord. Such a simple word but with so much spiritual discernment in his words to Jesus. Luke 23:42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” Lord-Kurios: Master, Owner, Supreme in Authority. This is our Lord. The Lord of Glory. Majestic Ruler of All.
Let us prepare our hearts to enter into His courtyards and His presence.

The Fountain of Living Water - Names of God

Jeremiah 2:13
"For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The Fountain of Living Water, and they have dug their own cisterns - broken cisterns that cannot hold water."

Here God is not speaking to the world in general, He is speaking to, and about, His own people: His elect, His chosen. The people He has called to be His people.

In forsaking God, God's people had turned their backs to and their faces from hearing The Word of God. In so doing they (we) have also stopped obeying The Word of God and are content to do their own thing. We are bringing God's judgment on the house of God in our disobedience and disregard and unthankfulness.

We must repent of our wickedness and return to a faithful walk with God. We must allow His Holy Spirit to change our hearts and strengthen our desire to have God active in our daily lives. We must seek His face with all of our hearts that His Word may fill us completely and there be nothing left of the selfish desires that have taken us from Him. We must pursue His grace that we might be covered with it, that sin would no longer be in God's houses.

These broken cisterns with which we have surrendered ourselves to and surround us are the idols and icons of our wickedness. With our eyes turned from God and having looked to the left and to the right, after being instructed not to do so, we have wandered far from righteousness and dallied in unrighteous behavior.

We must clean out God's house and remove the idols from His altar. We must not tarry in doing so, lest we provoke God even more and He rain judgment upon us. We must seek His face, confess our evil deeds, ask forgiveness and turn away from, stop participating in, such deeds/actions/activities/beliefs.

When God says in His Word not to do something and we do it, that's a sin against God. When God says to do certain things and we don't, that, too is a sin against God. Both of these need to be repented of (confessed to God that we may be forgiven by Him and turn away from the wickednesses we are doing and turn to Him to obey Him, follow Him, live in Him).

The Fountain of Living Water can only live in unbroken cisterns (unbroken wells). When we are broken by worldly pleasures, then there is no room for a Savior to enter into and live in. We have filled our hearts with rubble, with trash, with selfishness and self-centeredness.

We have pasted astrological signs on the walls of our hearts. We are focused on the night sky and not on He Who created the heavenly points of light. We have sought out other gods to worship: gods who cannot see, cannot hear, cannot answer prayer, cannot heal, cannot fight for us; gods who are created by men who refused to give themselves to The Only Almighty God, and in doing so have turned untold numbers of people to their wicked ways of living.

We are God's people but we are not living like God's people. Now is the time to clean house. Now is the day we turn back to God in repentance that we might be renewed, replenished and refurbished in our hearts, in our minds, in our spirit and in our lives.
Come back to Jesus. Come and be filled with The Living Water that He is.
