Jesus Is Lord

 1 Corinthians 12:3
Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the [power and influence of the] Spirit of God can say, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is [my] Lord,” except by [the power and influence of] The Holy Spirit.
Exodus 17:15
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah Nissi. (The LORD My Banner).

1 John 4:2-3
By this you will know The Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and which is already in the world at this time.

Romans 10:9-10, 13
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him out from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved. ~ For whosoever shall call upon The Name of The Lord shall be saved.

Why is this designation as LORD become so important even in this day and age? To be someone's Lord is to have the rule and mastery over them, as well as the protection and guardianship. To have Lordship is to have the governorship, as Isaiah wrote in  Isaiah 9:6 "...and the government shall be upon His shoulders...". Within His government He is the fulfillment of The Law (Matthew 5:17) and His Law is Love (Romans 13:10).
Who declared Jesus Christ Lord to begin with? His Father, Almighty God, gave His only begotten Son Lordship for a time (Psalm 110:1; Mark 12:36; 1 Corinthians 15:24-25). It is His Lordship we desire when we come to Him in faith, believing Him to be God's only begotten Son.       We come in faith with repentant hearts when we need to confess our sins. We come in faith believing that He not only hears the cries of our hearts but longs for us to hear the cry of His heart. We come to Christ as friend to Friend, meeting at the altar which we have set up for Him. Altars can be built anywhere. If that is not possible for you where you are, remember: when we clasp our fingers together, that is our altar, for prayer is where we meet God.
The altars of the Old Testament were at times set up after the meeting had taken place as a remembrance of that meeting between God and man. As Moses had set up the altar in Exodus 17:15, one of our key verses for today. Moses named his altar THE LORD MY BANNER. Abraham built an altar, too. Genesis 22:1-19. Abraham and his son Isaac walked up a mountain carrying the tools and equipment needed to build the altar and lay the sacrifice. Abraham named his altar THE LORD PROVIDES.
We have named our altars, too. We may travel hither and yon, but the memory of where we were when we spoke with God and God revealed Himself to us is our Remembrance. There was a time when my kids were little that we had just enough money coming in to pay the rent and the utilities. But we had no money for food. So we sat together in the kitchen, held hands and prayed for God to bring us something to eat. No sooner had we said Amen than there was a knock on the door. On the porch were some a couple of friends, each with their arms full of groceries. God already knew our need and had prepared in advance to answer our prayers of faith. THE LORD PROVIDES.
Therefore with full confidence I may say, as Moses said, THE LORD IS MY BANNER. I will wave His Name across the plains, the mountains, the oceans, the valleys and the lakes. I will carry His Name into battle each time I declare that He Is Lord, for Christ is not just Lord, He is MY LORD. I declare in my heart, in my home, in my family, in my church, in my neighborhood, in my city, in my state, in my country, and beyond, that wherever The LORD leads me, I will go, because He goes with me.
    JESUS IS LORD.

The Lord Is - - November 2023

KEPHALE GONIA
(pronounced kef-al-ay' go-nee'-ah)
CHIEF CORNERSTONE

Acts 4:11
This Jesus is The Stone rejected by you builders, which has become the Cornerstone.

Psalm 118:22
The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

Isaiah 28:16
So this is what The Lord GOD says: "See, I lay a Stone in Zion, a Tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone, a Sure Foundation; the one who believes will never be shaken."

Jesus Christ is The Rock upon which all other Living Stones are built. Without Him there is no foundation and all who do not believe that Jesus Christ is LORD have built their beliefs on sand, which is no foundation at all and washes away with every wave.
Jesus Christ is The Rock that won't move. It's why the believer can not only anchor in Him, but have Him as our Anchor. He is Strong. He is Steadfast. He is Immovable. He is Unshakable.
THE ROCK WON'T MOVE - Vertical Worship

HUPSOO
(pronounced hoop-so'-o)
EXALTED

To raise up, to lift up

Acts 2:33
“He is The One Who is Exalted at the right hand of God and He has received from The Father The Promise which is concerning The Spirit of Holiness, and He has poured out this gift, which, behold, you are seeing and hearing.”

Acts 5:30,31
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, Whom you had killed by hanging Him on a tree. God exalted Him to His right hand as Prince and Savior, in order to grant repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

Psalm 118:16
The right hand of The LORD is Exalted! The right hand of The LORD performs with valor!”

Isaiah 6:1
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw The Lord seated on a throne, high and Exalted; and the train of His robe filled the temple.

Isaiah 52:13
Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently, He shall be Exalted and extolled, and be very high.

John 3:13-15
No one has ascended into heaven except The One Who descended from heaven—The Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so The Son of Man must be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

Even now, we who believe that Jesus Christ is LORD, lift high His Name which is above all other names, that all who hear and see may believe and receive. Believe that He is indeed LORD of ALL and receive Him into their hearts.
The call to come and worship The KING of KINGS still goes out into the world, for The LORD GOD even yet extends His hand of Mercy and Lovingkindness to all who will reach out to Him and call on His Name.
From the depths of our hearts we cry out to God to forgive us. Forgive us for being self-infatuated, forgive us for not seeing Your hand at work in our lives, forgive us of all the unrighteous words we have spoken, forgive us of turning away from You and turning our hearts to handmade gods. Lord, we glorify Your Name, and Your Name alone. For in You is our Salvation. In You is our Peace. In You is our Hope alone. You, Lord, and none other.
Father, receive us into Your heart and make our hearts Your own. Fill us even now at this moment with Your precious Holy Spirit that Your Word would be revealed to us as we read it and Your Spirit applies it to our hearts and lives. Lead us and guide us and guard us. You have proven Yourself faithful right down to even the smallest request. Find us faithful, too, that we may rise when You send Your beloved Son to bring us home.
    In Jesus' Most Beautiful Name,
Amen.

The Lord is Our Defence

        Psalm 89:18
For the LORD is our Defence; and The Holy One of Israel is our King.

The Lord is our Defence and our Defender. He shields us with Himself from the evil which tries to provoke us, weary us, tarnish our reputations and take us out.
        Psalm 84:11
For the LORD God is a Sun and Shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
We need to hear His Voice and heed His Word that we may be the people who "walk upright". Walk with integrity. Walk in grace. "Live by Faith". How we live in our everyday lives is our walk. Whether we walk with Christ or not.
If you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, if you have not made the most important choice of your life, it's not too late. Now is the time to repent and follow Christ. Today is the day to kneel before Him, ask forgiveness for your sins and be filled with His Holy Spirit.
        Isaiah 33:22
For The LORD is our Judge, The LORD is our Lawgiver, The LORD is our King; He will save us.
And save us He did. John 3:16,17 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
Only then, when you believe, can Jesus be your Defence, your Defender. I'd rather be in the hand that holds the hilt (the pommel {counterweight}, the handle, the guard) than feel the wrath at the foible (the sharp pointy tip).

The Lord Is Your Keeper & Your Shade

THE LORD IS YOUR KEEPER & YOUR SHADE
    Psalm 121:5
The LORD is your Keeper; The LORD is your Shade at your right hand.

The Lord keeps His people from knowing hunger and knowing thirst, for He is our Bread and He is our Water, our Living Water. He feeds us with His Word and our soul is satisfied. We who live in The Lord live in the shelter of The Lord: Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty."
As our Keeper, He protects us, guards us, leads us and watches over us. As our Shade, He covers our heads with His covering, His covenant. In Him, as the verse says, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28; Job 12:10). He is Life to us. Without Him life would not exist.
The Lord is MY Keeper, MY Shade. He protects me even when I am unaware of danger or the possibility of danger in my path. He holds me up and draws me close at the same time to bring me near His heart.
The Lord is Everything to me. Is He Everything to you? Why not start trusting Him now? Give The Lord your heart and let Him lead you where He wants to take you today.

The Lord Is Near to The Brokenhearted

THE LORD IS NEAR TO THE BROKENHEARTED

Psalm 34:18

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.

Deuteronomy 4:7
For what nation is great enough to have a god as near to them as the LORD our God is to us whenever we call on Him?

Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

ONLY the brokenhearted will approach God; the arrogant have no place at His table. The brokenhearted soul seeks comfort in times of grief, sorrow and pain. At the feet of Jesus, Who experienced grief, sorrow and pain, we meet Someone Who knows all our troubles, all our secrets and all our wants.
When we realize Who God really is, we also realize that we are very blessed to have this God love us and care for us and help us through life. We surrender our hearts and our lives to God and become His humble servants, knowing that He is with us all the time.
    Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

He does, indeed, heal the brokenhearted. The mournful know joy in the presence of The King. Even when our hearts get broken again and again and again, over and over and over. Though darkness rules this world, its rule is temporary; God is God and His Word is True. But while darkness reigns, death reigns. Unless. Unless the soul that seeks God finds God and learns to see The Light of God's Salvation for themselves. Then The Light of God's Love will shine into their hearts and make Itself at home there.
It is good to be brokenhearted before The Lord, for then He will come near and make His presence known. The broken heart will surely repent of all its sins against God and seek His forgiveness that their heart might be healed of all unrighteousness. For it is only by the stripes across His back that we are healed at all.
There were two men hanging near Jesus on their crosses. At first both taunted Him (Matthew 27:44). But then, according to Luke 23:39-42, one thief called Jesus "Lord", an acknowledgement that He knew Jesus was different than they themselves and he asked to be remembered when Christ came into His kingdom. That thief's request was granted. Jesus' stripes healed his sins, too.
The fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom, says King Solomon, the writer of The Book of Proverbs (Proverbs 9:10). To not have this fear and believing that one can approach God without it is a fool's errand and no such person will be able have any kind of access to God.
Broken hearts get mended. But hardened hearts get crushed. It is amazing to me to know that even when facing God in their last moments that many will still choose not to see Him, not to hear Him, not to fear Him. Revelation 6:16 tells us that in the face of God's wrath, the wealthy ran and hid in caves begging for the rocks to fall on them to hide them from God. They are fools. God sees everything and everyone. He knows who belongs to Him and who does not. He knows who fears Him and who reviles Him.
I belong to Him and He belongs to me. Can you say that?

Given A Changed Heart

The Spiritual Transplant

Ezekiel 36:26

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Every time we try to change ourselves to be a better person our attempts fall short and many times we fall back into our old ways. We have not changed one bit.But when God changes us, we begin to be a changed person: from the inside-out. That's the only way we can begin to heal, begin to grow, begin to love.

The Christ-Filled Change

Romans 10:8-10

But what does it say? “The Word is near you; It is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.

Neither our good deeds, acts of kindness, nor our charitable donations will grant us access to the heavenly places where God's eternalness is. Only this in Romans 10:8-10>Believe with our hearts and Speak our belief out loud. Justification takes place in the heart; Salvation takes place in the mouth.

If, when we come to Christ for our salvation, but do not shout it from the rooftops nor whisper it in someone's ear nor speak what we believe aloud, are we then not saved? Have you told someone about the change God has wrought in you? And how God is still changing you? Does your life reflect your belief?

The Holy Spirit Changed Lifestyle

1 Peter 1:14-16

As obedient children, do not conform to the passions of your former ignorance. But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Isaiah 35:8

And there will be a highway called The Way of Holiness. The unclean will not travel it--only those who walk in the Way--and fools will not stray onto it.

2 Corinthians 7:1

Therefore, beloved, since we have these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Holiness is a process. Like the seed that becomes a full grown plant (flower, tree, grain), time is essential to become holy. Patience is not only a virtue, it is required. Contentment with the portion of faith in God's ability to keep His promises to us is part of the process.

Holiness is a necessity. Without holiness no one can see God. And who doesn't want to see God? I want to see God and live with Him eternally. I believe that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD. And I want The Holy Spirit to continue to work in me, on me, and through me to perfect me in holiness. I will raise in life triumphant. Will you rise with me?

The Lord Is A Friend

 To Those Who Fear Him

Psalm 25:14 (ESV)
The friendship of The LORD is for those who fear Him, and He makes known to them His covenant.

FRIENDSHIP WITH THE LORD
Proverbs 3:32
For the perverse person is an abomination to The LORD, But His secret counsel is with the upright.
Proverbs 18:24
A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a Friend Who sticks closer than a brother.
John 15:14-15
You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.

THE FEAR OF THE LORD
Proverbs 8:13
The fear of The LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Psalm 19:19
The fear of The LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of The LORD are are true and righteous altogether.
Proverbs 1:17
The fear of The LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Psalm 111:10
The fear of The LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have they who do His commandments: His praise endures forever.
Job 28:28
And He said to man, 'Behold, the fear of The LORD, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil, that is understanding.'
Proverbs 10:27
The fear of The LORD prolongs days, but the years of the wicked are shortened.
Proverbs 15:33
The fear of The LORD is the instruction of wisdom,  and before honor is humility.

So we see that to trust in God and obey His Word brings us both friendship with Him and a desire to learn and be taught by Him in His Word. He teaches us to fear (revere: respect and awe) Him. By our willingness to know and understand His Word, The LORD is able to teach each one who asks to be taught by Him. This is why we need His Holy Spirit.
It is The Holy Spirit's job, work, to open our eyes to see and understand what God reveals to us when He reveals it (and not before). These are the steps we take when we walk with Jesus and talk with Jesus and God. His Word tells us that His Word is a Lamp to our feet and a Light to our path: The Light of Christ shines on and through The Word of God. Think of it as solar lights lighting our path at night and the moon and stars shining their lights from above. We see much better with both lights to light our way: the light from above lights our path, the light from nearby lights our steps. So, too, this is how The Light shines in The Word.
May you find yourself a friend with Jesus. May your eyes be opened with understanding and your hearts opened with wisdom.

    MAOZ
(pronounced maw-oze')
STRENGTH

Psalm 27:1
A Psalm of David. The LORD is my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the Strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The LORD is Safety, Protection; a Fortress to be reckoned with but which none can tear down, nor overthrow. He is Stronghold and Defense. Why should I be afraid of anyone or anything when I have The LORD and He has me?
Remember, God is a personal God. Therefore the believer can rightly say, "my" when referring to Who God Is. MY Light. MY Salvation. Strength of MY Life. I became His when I believed His Word and accepted Him by Faith in His Word. I am His and He is mine.
And He's coming back to get me, get all His people, soon. Are you one of them?

The Name of The Lord

SALVATION IS IN THE NAME OF THE LORD

    Joel 2:32
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on The Name of The LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as The LORD has said, and in the remnant whom The LORD shall call.
    Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon The Name of The Lord shall be saved.
    Acts 2:21
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on The Name of The Lord shall be saved.

THE NAME OF THE LORD IS
SAVIOR
     Isaiah 45:17
But Israel will be saved by The LORD with an everlasting salvation; you will not be put to shame or humiliated, to ages everlasting.

DELIVERER
    Romans 11:26
And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob.

REDEEMER
    Isaiah 59:20
"The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression," declares the LORD.
    Titus 2:14
Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

NO OTHER NAME
    Acts 4:11-12
This Jesus is ‘The Stone you builders rejected, which has become The Chief Cornerstone.’ Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

IN THENAME OF THE LORD IS
FORGIVENESS
    Acts 2:38
Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in The Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of The Holy Ghost.

WHOLENESS
    Acts 3:6-7
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

UNITY
    1 Corinthians 1:10
Now I plead with you, brethren, by The Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

STRUCTURE
    Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in The Name of The Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

POWER
    John 20:31
But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is The Christ, The Son of God; and that believing you might have life through His Name.
    Acts 10:43
"All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His Name.”

YOU ARE HOLY - Andrew Hopkins
THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU - Lenny LeBlanc

Why does anyone ever run from the only Name that can save us? For we do, indeed, need saving. Our souls are in grave danger on a daily basis. It is the soul - how we think, how we emote, how we act- that is eternal. Whether that eternity is death eternal or life eternal, the soul will live beyond this life.
We are only fooling ourselves when we turn our backs on God. God sees us. God knows us. He waits for us to turn to Him; He is not forceful yet, nor is He pushy. God is gentle and patient (longsuffering) and merciful. He waits for you to come home. The welcome mat is always out...for now. There will come a time, a day, when it will be too late to make a commitment to trust in God, to believe in God, to follow Jesus Christ. Don't let your souls see that day come to you.
My Mother prayed for you as she lay dying. She prayed for the salvation of her family: her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister and brother and their children and grandchildren; her husband's siblings and their families throughout their generations. Salvation is the only thing she prayed for. We prayed together. It is the first and the last time my Mother and I ever prayed together. We prayed for you.
Now, it's up to you to make a decision. Do you choose Christ Jesus, The Only Begotten Son of God, The Lamb of God? The only God Who died for you and rose from the dead? or do you choose to follow dead gods who died and never came back from the grave?
In The Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST is LOVE. He is The LOVE OF GOD personified. He is The Glory of God personified. He is The POWER OF GOD personified. IN THE NAME OF THE LORD IS THE NAME OF THE LORD.

The Lord Is Ever Present

Psalm 139:7-10
Where shall I go from your Spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me.

Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
2 Chronicles 16:9a
For the eyes of The LORD roam to and fro over all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him.
Ezekiel 1:15-21 speaks of the four wheels within wheels, covered with eyes, that goes where The Spirit goes.
Jeremiah 23:24
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? said the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? said the LORD.
Hebrews 4:13
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account.

Job 34:22
There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide.
Revelation 6:16
And they said to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb."

Colossians 1:15-17
The Son is the image of The invisible God, The Firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

God even sees us when we are being created in our mothers' wombs. He is with us from the beginnings of life to the end of life.
Psalm 139:13-16
For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well.
My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be.

The Lord Lives!

Psalm 18:46
The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Job 19:25
But I know that my Redeemer lives, and in the end He will stand upon the earth.

Luke 24:5-7
Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,
saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”

Luke 24:46, 47
And He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and in His name repentance and forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem."

John 3:14,15
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.

John 20:31
But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His Name.

1 John 5:11
And this is that Testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

The Lord Is A Refuge For The Oppressed

Psalm 9:9
The Lord is a Refuge for the oppressed, a Stronghold in times of trouble.

2 Samuel 22:3
My God is my Rock, in Whom I take refuge, my Shield, and The Horn of my Salvation. My Stronghold, my Refuge, and my Savior, You save me from violence.

When it seems as if there is nowhere to run, no place to hide, come to Jesus. He longs to be your Hiding Place [Psalm 32:7]. His arms, His heart, are big enough to hold the whole world, for God has said to Him that the earth is The Lord's footstool [Isaiah 66:1; Hebrews 10:13 cf/ Psalm 110:1].
The Lord is MY Refuge, MY Hiding Place, MY Stronghold in the day of trouble. I emphasize the word 'my' to show that The Lord is a personal God. He desires a personal connection with each of us, a relationship that complements one another.
David wrote in Psalm 23:1, The Lord is MY Shepherd. In Exodus 15:2, Moses wrote, The Lord is MY Strength and MY Song: "The LORD is My Strength and My Song, and He has become My Salvation. He is My God, and I will praise Him, My father’s God, and I will exalt Him." Isaiah continued this refrain in 12:2 "Surely God is My Salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. For the LORD GOD is My Strength and My Song, and He also has become My Salvation.”
The Lord God is MY God, MY Savior, My Saving Grace, MY Refuge, My Fortress, The Horn of MY Salvation. The Lord hides me under the shelter of His wings. Those who seek to me to destroy me cannot find me. They who think only wicked against me will find themselves falling and failing wherever they wander when they come against me. For I am safely abiding in Him
The Lord God is MY Anchor, He holds me steadily amidst the crashing waves and keeps me afloat. The Lord God is MY Home, My Faraway Country, MY Nation for His Word tells me that His people are a holy nation [1 Peter 2:9] living under the banner of a holy heavenly King. Therefore The Lord God is also MY King, My Banner of Love under Whose standard I dwell. I am home. I am at peace.
Though the ship rocks and the winds blow, I will not be moved from The Rock on which I stand. My feet are firmly planted and in Him I take my stand. The believer has a Mighty God Who is Able to take care of His people. Come and join us on The Rock, be anchored in His all-encompassing unconditional Love and rest your weary souls at His feet.

The Lord Looks On The Heart

1 Samuel 16:7

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”

Psalm 139:23,24
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 119:80
Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes, That I may not be ashamed.

The heart of mankind is naturally deceitful, even deceiving itself. For the eyes look upon what a person wants, desires even, and sets in motion the steps required to attain the thing that is sought after; at times without even thinking of the consequences.
But the heart that has given itself to God has won the struggle for survival: it has chosen eternal life and everything else that God has promised to His faithful followers. However the opposite is also true: those whose hearts are against God and God's Word have opted for eternal death and every curse God has promised to the wicked heart.
A heart that is focused on self-serving desires instead of God-serving desires will not be able to obtain that which is needed most to survive: God-given forgiveness for sins. The self sees only the immediate and demands immediate gratification. But the person who has surrendered their will to God's will has chosen the better way: the way to Grace, Mercy, Peace, Hope, Sustainability.
A heart that beats for Jesus collaborates with its Savior. He is, after all, working all things together for my good. All things: the good that happens in life, the tragic that happens in life, the awful that happens in life = God uses all these to make me a better person with a strong testimony that I might be a faithful witness and lift JESUS up for all the world to see.
A heart that beats for Jesus beats in unison. For Christ is in me and I am in Him. He is mine and I am His. When The Father says, "Go", we go. When The Father says, "Stop", we stop. When The Father speaks, we hear His voice, listen to His words and obey His instructions. As you know, "Faith comes by hearing, hearing by The Word of God" [Romans 10:17].
A heart that is broken for God is mended by God in God's time according to God's Ways. This heart is surrendered to God and longs to be near to Him. So close that His breath is in my ear and His Spirit is visible and His Son is by my side. Oh, how the believer's heart yearns to be in God's eternal presence!
Come and go with me. Walk with me as I walk with Jesus. Let us walk in God's Word together. The journey is nearly over, the race is nearly finished. Soon, the faithful servants shall hear their Father say to them, "Well done, My good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of The Lord." [Matthew 25:21].
We can't see inside each other's hearts. But God knows who are His and who are not. However, we can see each other's actions. If you say you are a Christian, then you should be Christ-like. That's what being Christian means: the believer lives in Christ. He is our Promised Land, our everything good that comes for God residence. When the term 'Christian' was first used, it was an epithet, an insult. But it was received as an acknowledgement of the change which Christ had wrought in the hearts of those who believe Him and received Him. Being called Christian was a reason to rejoice then and now.
I am a Christian. I live in Christ. And He lives in me. Can you see the changes God has wrought in me?

Eternal Destinations

When we leave this world for what lies ahead, each of us will take our memories and our senses.

In the parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31), Jesus tells us of the consequences of not believing God (the first man's destination) and of believing God (the second man's destination).
Verse 23: The unbeliever knew pain. He had sight and could recognize other people.
Verse 24: The unbeliever could speak. He knew thirst but he was still selfish.
Verse 25: The unbeliever could hear.
Verse 26: The unbeliever had the memories of his family. And the unbeliever knew he didn't want any of his family in the horrible place he was in. But his desires were limited to those of his own family. He couldn't cross from hell into Paradise after he was dead.

Back up to Verse 23, the unbelieving soul saw the beggar he had despised near Abraham, (whom he recognized though Abraham had died long before either man was born) in Paradise. The believer knew rest, peace, comfort. And while he had all his faculties, the unbelieving soul's wants were not directed at him, though some were about him.

Paradise is where the righteous went before Christ Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead. But we know that now, when we die, we will see Jesus immediately. Acts 7:55-56. We will have all of our faculties intact. And we will see Jesus. That's the believer's destination.

The Death of The Saints

King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes, "To everything there is a season....a time to be born, a time to die...". We celebrate the births and mourn the deaths. Yet when a saint dies, we should celebrate that death, for they have been called home. Coming home after a long journey is always cause for happy times.

~It is a time of rest; of laying aside the cares of our days.

~It is a time of peace, never to know pain, sorrow, anxiety again.
~It is a time of joy; of being received into the everlasting arms of Jesus and God.
~The death of the saints is a time of temporary sorrow, grief and mourning on our part (though it may feel as if it will last forever), for we will miss them during our lifetime here, but it is with great joy that we know that we will see them again in heaven.
~Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints."

The births that get celebrated in the kingdom of God are the new births in Christ: the adoptee into God's family through the blood of His only begotten Son, Who died on the cross to pay for our sins. For it is only through the blood that the adoption process can begin.
1. We need to believe that Jesus Christ died for us. That He conquered/overcame, death, hell and the grave when He walked out of the tomb in which He was buried.
2. We need to acknowledge our sins to God, repenting of them (turn away from them and never do them again). It's not enough to have a changed life, we need a changed heart, as well.
3. We need to ask for God's Holy Spirit to come into our lives, to make us the holy people God commands us to be. For we cannot be made holy by doing anything mere man tells us to do: it's all God.
4. We need to be baptized publicly: making a bold statement to the world that we believe that Jesus Christ is Lord of all and now He is Lord of the one who has been baptized.
5. We need to follow the lead of The Holy Spirit of God: not just reading our Bibles every day, but studying The Word, as well. Knowing that when we understand what we have been studying, we can then apply it to our lives. Without The Holy Spirit it is impossible to live a God-filled life, a changed life. A life that is lived for Jesus must have Jesus in it.

This is how we come into God's family. This is our adoption process. We are the lineage of Abraham: children of righteousness, people of faith and trust in God. Not only are we grafted into The Vine, but we are now in God's family tree. We are the planting of The Lord, trees of righteousness.
Believe it. Receive it. Live it.

I WILL RAISE IN LIFE TRIUMPHANT
by Mary Barker Spencer
1. The tree of life’s still standing and all who will may eat.
Come and dine is still the call. The place is Jesus' feet.
The crimson cleansing fountain yet is flowing from His side.
His holiness still beckons us to heed His humble cry.
-chorus-
I will raise in life triumphant!
I will let hosannas roll!
I will drink that Living Water that shall ever flood my soul!
I will worship crying, "Holy"!
For worthy is The Lamb
Slain from the foundation of the world
Just so I can. 2. Oh grave, where is your victory? Oh death, where is your sting?
For the God of all creation has swallowed you to bring
My life to me immortal back with Him from Calvary.
In the valley of the shadow there’s a brilliant light for me!
-chorus-
I will raise in life triumphant!
I will let hosannas roll!
I will drink that Living Water that shall ever flood my soul!
I will worship crying, "Holy"!
For worthy is The Lamb
Slain from the foundation of the world
Just so I can.
