The Lord Is Ever Present

Psalm 139:7-10
Where shall I go from your Spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me.

Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
2 Chronicles 16:9a
For the eyes of The LORD roam to and fro over all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him.
Ezekiel 1:15-21 speaks of the four wheels within wheels, covered with eyes, that goes where The Spirit goes.
Jeremiah 23:24
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? said the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? said the LORD.
Hebrews 4:13
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account.

Job 34:22
There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide.
Revelation 6:16
And they said to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb."

Colossians 1:15-17
The Son is the image of The invisible God, The Firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

God even sees us when we are being created in our mothers' wombs. He is with us from the beginnings of life to the end of life.
Psalm 139:13-16
For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well.
My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be.

Heart & Soul - - Germination

Colossians 3:1
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 4891
Raised: to raise together
From the Greek word 'sunegeiró' (pronounced soon-eg-i'-ro) meaning " I raise along with".
"To raise up together from moral death to a new and blessed life devoted to God."
RAISED WITH HIM
We are risen from the dead with Christ when we believe in His Name for our salvation (Romans 10:13). For His very Name is Savior (Matthew 1:21; Luke 1:31).
Colossians 2:12 "And having been buried with Him in baptism, you were raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead." Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
ALIVE TO GOD THROUGH THE CROSS
    Romans 6:3-5
(3) Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (4) We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life. (5) For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection.
    Galatians 5:24
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
    Galatians 6:14
But as for me, may I never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world
I am alive to God through the cross, through the crucifixion of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, who died for me, to save me from the punishment of my sins. He died for you, too. And those who believe, who call on His Name to save them, have died with Him; for we are now in Him and He is in us, as He prayed in the garden in John 17:20-26. It's a lovely prayer.
If a person hasn't come to the cross to lay their burden of sins down there, then they need to do so soon, very soon. Christ is returning soon and very soon. It will be near impossible to come to Christ when God calls His church into His presence. (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17). I'm so excited! Aren't you?
    SEEK THE THINGS ABOVE
What are the things above that we, as citizens (Philippians 3:20) of heaven, should be seeking? What are we looking for, searching out? Matthew 6:20-21 tells us "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
>ETERNAL LIFE is our greatest treasure. But to have it there we must first claim it here. For it is both our now reward for we live in Him now and our later treasure up there. We will get new bodies, changed bodies . As a seed that is planted in the ground does not remain a seed but changes and grows into whatever the seed was destined to become, we, too, will be changed.
The seed goes through a transformative process to become what will be seen. In science it is called germination. In Scripture it is called 'from glory to glory' (2 Corinthians 3:18).
ROOTS AND SHOOTS
  • The seed's first stage is getting water to begin the process. For the Christian that water is the Holy Spirit. Before anything else worthwhile can happen in a Christian's life, the Holy Spirit must be present in us. The seed first grows roots to reach into the ground and find water. The Christian's roots are in the Word of God, we dig deep into His Word to find our resources for growth.
  • The seed's second stage is oxygen. It needs to breathe. For the Christian that oxygen is the presence of God, for He gives us breath.
  • The seed's third stage is the right temperature in which to flourish. For the Christian the right temperature is persecution. For the church grew when the Word spread through the Christians who fled the cities where they were being hunted and killed for the Name of Jesus. Hard to believe that we require such uncivilities to grow in our faith, isn't it? But in the Christian life this requirement is akin to the dirt in which the seed has been buried. It must push through, up and out in order to reach the sun and become a seedling, a young plant. During this stage of development the seed, the Christian, breaks through the hard shell surrounding it; we tear down walls and the new life that is growing us shoots upward to break through the ground (the fears, doubts and ponderings) in which it is buried and become a sprout, a new life, which will grow and become stronger in the light of God's love and mercy. Grace Like Rain.
  • The seed's fourth requirement is light: it requires sunshine and warmth. So, too, the Christian requires Sonlight. We strive, persevere, and push through the obstacles to reach the Christ in Whom our lives shine.
  • The seed's fifth and final stage is the transformation into what it was created to be. Its roots have driven deep into the ground, its shoots have made their final push through and up, its leaves are releasing oxygen and its purpose is made known when its fruit (plant type) is visible to everyone who sees it. So, too, is the Christian's life. They who see us know we are Christians even before we open our mouth to speak. For the glory of the Lord shines in our faces.
CHRIST AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD
How wonderful to be a seed in the garden of God, to be the planting of the Lord! Rise up, O Christian, and be who the Lord is calling you to be! See Him in all His glory, where He is seated at the right hand of His Father. Ask you how we know He is there? The Word states this is so. He has been seen there.
    Acts 7:55-56
55) But he (Stephen) being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. (56) And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
    Mark 16:19
After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
    Daniel 7:13
In my vision in the night I continued to watch, and I saw One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence.

Someday soon we, too, will see Christ at the right hand of God. For God's Word is True & Faithful. God never lies. God is Love, not chaos. All will see Him but not all will remain with Him. Only the ones who have believed on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation and turned their backs on the temptations of this world, choosing to live for Him.
Have you said, Yes, Lord, I am Yours? Have you surrendered your heart and your life to Him? Hurry, hurry; come to the altar and give God your heart, that He may plant Himself in your heart. changing you according to His will and purpose for  you. Like He did me.
Every day is a new challenge, a new opportunity to serve Him and be of use to Him in His kingdom. Every day is a day of growth, a day of spreading the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ, in the hopes that the hearer would receive it into their own hearts.
We pray, Lord, be my Lord. I am a wretched sinner and I have transgressed against You. I have broken Your laws and I need Your Savior. I need Jesus Christ to wash my sins away in the blood He shed for me on the cross. I need His resurrection power to become the Christian You want me to be. I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. As I commit myself to You, Father, strengthen me in Your Word and  Your Love. Guide me, lead me, guard my tongue, that I may speak only the words You give me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit that I may walk in this new life which You have given me. I praise You and thank You for saving me, filling me and leading me. In Jesus' Name, we pray, Amen.

Guard Your Heart -- - Guard Your Core

Colossians 3:12
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 4698
Bowels:  the inward parts (heart, liver, lungs, etc.), the emotions
From the Greek word 'splagchnon' (pronounced splangkh'-non):  the inward parts; the heart, affections, seat of the feelings. Properly, the internal organs ("viscera"); "gut-level compassion" (visceral feelings); the capacity to feel deep emotions (sympathy, empathy, etc.).

THE CORE
The main job of the core in the human anatomy is to hold and protect the spine. It is located within a person's abdominal muscles, which stabilize the pelvis, maintain natural abdominal pressure and helps hold other organs in place.
It is the same in our spiritual bodies. The core, the innermost part of our spiritual hearts, where the Trinity dwell, holds us upright. The core's main function is to keep the born again Christian in Christ and Christ in the Christian. It is here God writes His Word with the power of His Holy Spirit.
HEART OF MERCY
Having gone through various trials with Christ at our helm, we are able to navigate these same storms with others. We call this empathy. But being Christians, we can also offer the Love of God, our Hope in Christ and Strength for the journey.
Death is another storm which everyone goes through. When we are born into this world, we are aware that we will have to die at some point to leave it. Though we do not want to say good-bye to our loved ones, we who know we are in Christ and that He is in us, know that 'good-bye' is really 'see you later'.
Therefore, as Christ's servants we can also sympathize with the dying, the ones they leave behind and the ones who fear death. A grieving parent is shown both empathy and sympathy by a Christian parent who has also suffered the loss of a child. A grieving child is shown sympathy and empathy by a Christian when we share how our parents are now in heaven.
From deep within the heart of a Christian rises the love of God and the mercy of Christ to reach into the heart of the one we are showing empathy with and sympathy to. We grieve when they grieve. We cry when they cry. We mourn when they mourn. We rejoice when they rejoice.
CORE VALUES
Core values are the priorities by which we live our lives: our personal ethics, our integrity. In Scripture, the core values are the fruit of the Spirit as outlined in Galatians 5:22, 23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." These grow in the spiritual core of a Christian.
We each have our own list of core values. Some as few as five, yet some have a set list of 200+ values. It is the structure of life for us. In a Christian's life it is the same. What we believe and how we live what we believe is to be known by our core values.
For instance, integrity, which tends to show itself in a public display of honesty. When you see an item in your cart after you've already paid for everything else, do you go back and pay for it or do you keep it? The person with integrity goes back and pays for it.
Responsibility, respect, good sportsmanship are all core values. But servant leadership is also a core value. Jesus showed this value when He washed His disciples' feet. (John 13:1-17). He's the Servant Leader, who shows by example how to live a Christ-centered life.
So, remember, in order to guard our hearts and the core of our hearts, we need a right relationship with Christ and to be filled with His Holy Spirit, who leads us and guides us on every step of our walk with Him. In the church we call it 'being known by our fruit'. What are you known for?

Intelligent Worship -- Thank God -- Part 8

Intelligent Worship brings us into the presence of God. Part 8.

While I am writing these at the rate of one a day, you who get these in an email will only receive one per week; so as not to overwhelm. Should you choose to read binge them, they're here.

Thanking God is something believers do every day throughout our day. It is not reserved for a set time nor a set day. We do not wait until the calendar rolls around to the third Thursday of November (here in the US of A).

We are thankful when we wake up, even before our eyes open or we rise up to greet the new day given us. We have thankful hearts for the mercies of God in our everyday lives. But most of all, like many other born again Christians around this globe, we are thankful for God's neverending grace.

We are thankful that God has chosen us to be His, that we accepted His offer of grace through His Son Jesus Christ, and that now He sends us out to spread/share this same gospel of grace with other people who need to hear and receive it just like we needed to hear and receive it.

2 Corinthians 2:14
But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.

Romans 6:16-18
Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness?
But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed.
You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Being thankful to God is God's will for His people. It is impossible to be angry when we're thanking God. It's like biting one's own face. Impossible.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

The words we speak and the actions we take in any given situation, whether at home, at work, at school; in public, in private, unspoken are to be undertaken in the Name of the Lord Jesus, thanking God for one more opportunity to represent Him and share His grace with those around us.

Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Is this easy? No. Can we do it? Yes. If we remember to not allow ourselves to be so easily frustrated with the world around us. Even if others cannot hear us, God can. Even if others do not see us, God can. We are accountable to God for how we think and how we behave. And while we are not accountable to the world, we are held accountable to each other for how we represent Christ to the world.

Today's WORD -- Thankfulness

Colossians 3:16
Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

THANKFULNESS (Strong's): grace, gratitude; 'that which affords joy, delight'

To have a THANKFUL heart is to have a heart filled with gratitude towards God, from Whom all Blessings flow.
Psalm 56:10 "In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word."
Philippians 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Ephesians 5:20-21 "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Psalm 34:1 "I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips."
Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
1 Thessalonians 5:18 "Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

It is impossible to have a Gratitude Attitude towards God if we do not have a personal relationship with His only begotten Son Jesus Christ living in our hearts, Whose Holy Spirit leads us through God's written Word that we might become the people He has called us to be.

Do we have THANKFUL hearts? We must respond to this question. Where there is no thankfulness, no gratitude, no praise to God, there is no blessing of any kind. No peace, no hope, no grace, no mercy.

Psalm 136 describes perfectly why we should have thankfulness in our hearts.
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good.

His loving devotion endures forever.

2 Give thanks to the God of gods.

His loving devotion endures forever.

3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords.

His loving devotion endures forever.

4 He alone does great wonders.

His loving devotion endures forever.

5 By His insight He made the heavens.

His loving devotion endures forever.

6 He spread out the earth upon the waters.

His loving devotion endures forever.

7 He made the great lights—

His loving devotion endures forever.

8 the sun to rule the day,

His loving devotion endures forever.

9 the moon and stars to govern the night.

His loving devotion endures forever.

10 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt

His loving devotion endures forever.

11 and brought Israel out from among them

His loving devotion endures forever.

12 with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm.

His loving devotion endures forever.

13 He divided the Red Seaa in two

His loving devotion endures forever.

14 and led Israel through the midst,

His loving devotion endures forever.

15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea.

His loving devotion endures forever.

16 He led His people through the wilderness.

His loving devotion endures forever.

17 He struck down great kings

His loving devotion endures forever.

18 and slaughtered mighty kings—

His loving devotion endures forever.

19 Sihon king of the Amorites

His loving devotion endures forever.

20 and Og king of Bashan—

His loving devotion endures forever.

21 and He gave their land as an inheritance,

His loving devotion endures forever.

22 a heritage to His servant Israel.

His loving devotion endures forever.

23 He remembered us in our low estate

His loving devotion endures forever.

24 and freed us from our enemies.

His loving devotion endures forever.

25 He gives food to every creature.

His loving devotion endures forever.

26 Give thanks to the God of heaven!

His loving devotion endures forever.

And above all this: JESUS DIED FOR US. For this alone, if for no other reason, THIS is why we should have THANKFULNESS in our hearts!

1 Chronicles 16:34 "Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."
Psalm 100:5 "
For the LORD is good, and His loving devotion endures forever; His faithfulness continues to all generations."
Psalm 105:1 "Give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; make known His deeds among the nations."
Psalm 106:47 "Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name, that we may glory in Your praise."
Psalm 118:25 "O LORD, save us, we pray. We beseech You, O LORD, cause us to prosper!"

See that? Prosperity is not in finances. Prosperity is salvation from God. Prosperity is knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. We must be saved on an individual basis: each of us must fall on our knees before God in this life we have been given and acknowledge that He is God and there is no other. We must repent of our wicked ways (disobedience to God's Word) and seek His forgiveness. We must ask Christ into our hearts, to come and live there permanently; to change us from the inside out and wash away the sins from our hearts, making us clean and whole.

What He did in the books of the New Testament He is still doing today! That's something to be thankful for! He still saves! He still heals! He still pours out His Holy Spirit on those who seek to walk in the power of God and speak boldly the Truth of the Word of God.

The words "thank, thanked, thankful, thankfulness, thanking, thanksgiving, thanksgivings" when referring to thanking God are mentioned  129 times. This gives me the understanding that thanking God for everything is very important. But a thankful heart requires a thankful attitude. The Bible calls it being a 'cheerful giver', though this verse in 2 Corinthians 9:7 refers to the offerings, or donations, we give above and beyond the tithe we are required to give. Cheerfully, and with joy at being able to give at all.

However, if we are not thanking God with a cheerful heart, then our thanks is not sincere and it won't be received. When the life we live in Christ and He lives in us is sincere and true, we can't help but be joyful in the thanks we render to God for every blessing He has given us.

Let's be thankful people of God and nourish a Gratitude Attitude with the love of God through Jesus Christ that any and all who are around us can't help but notice there's something different in us. Let's be salt and light in a flavorless dark world.

A Different Peace

John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid."

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Even now this world calls for peace. But beware. One will come who will declare peace and delude people into thinking he has created peace. But it will be a false peace.

There is only one peace that will last for ever and that Peace is the Peace of God. Him who declares that the Prince of Peace is Jesus Christ has sent us His Peace to save our souls. Not only that but He has sent us His Holy Spirit to sanctify us and make us holy that we may for ever live in the presence of God. That's peace.

That's a peace that passes understanding and can only be obtained by faith in the name of the Son of God: Jesus Christ.

Stand your guard, discipline yourself, watch and pray that we may be alert, ready. aware.

Colossians 3:15

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be thankful.
