The Lord Is Mine

THE LORD IS MINE

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon The Name of The Lord shall be saved.

I am a whosoever.

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is My Shepherd, I shall not want (lack).

Isaiah 40:11  He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads the nursing ewes.

John 10:11  “I am The Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep."

I am His sheep because I am a whosoever. The Lord is Mine. Is He your Lord? Are you a whosoever? Do you want to be a whosoever?

It's really very simple.

A=Acknowledge that Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son, that He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, that He was buried and then rose on the third day.

B=Believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. Read The Word every day and study it for yourself. Never take it for granted that what someone is telling you is in the Bible is really in the Bible: people lie to benefit themselves and to keep others from knowing the valuable Truth that is found in God's Word.

C=Confess our sins to God and ask His help to stop doing those things He says not to do and to do the things He wants us to do. This is called repentance. Continuing to trust God every day and being faithful in our daily walk is a process called The Holiness Way. For us to grow in Christ everyday we need God's Holy Spirit. We need to ask Him for guidance on how to live a righteous life now while we have breath that we may see God and live when we die.

This is the basic alphabet of salvation in Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 "Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

These are the verses we read and understand to know that we are sinners who need saving. Make no bones about it: we are ALL sinners. If someone says they have never sinned, they are a LIAR, for God's Word is Faithful and True and He tells us that we are ALL sinners, we ALL need Jesus to save us. Would you rather be a fool or a saint?

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Romans 5:6 But God commendeth His love His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the Gift of God is Eternal Life through JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

Romans 10:9-10, 13 That if you confess with your mouth The Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ~ For whosoever shall call upon The Name of The Lord shall be saved.

Isn't it time for you to be a whosoever?

NO OTHER NAME

BELONG TO YOU

The Lord Is Present - - Come Near

THE LORD IS PRESENT

Present: To Give to, To announce someone's entrance into your presence

Present: Gift given

Presence: In the vicinity of, nearby, close at hand

Every offering made to The LORD GOD in the Old Testament was made with fire; a sacrifice had to be given with the offering. It is not enough to give The LORD words, actions must back these words up.

DO OUR GIFTS TO GOD HONOR HIM?

We say, Lord, Here I am, use me. But when He places us in the midst of trials and temptations, what do we do? Mostly complain. Lord, I didn't ask for this. Lord, get me out of this. How about saying something a little bit (a lotta bit) different? Lord, show me how to be a blessing to you in this trial. Give me Your Word to speak in this temptation. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit that I may remain strong and steadfast, standing against the very thing that wants to take me out or knock me down.

The Word says not to promise God we will do something and then not do it. When that happens, we have lied to God and we will have to answer for it. Numbers 30:2; Deuteronomy 23:21; Ecclesiastes 5:4; Psalm 66:13.

GOD GIVES GOOD GIFTS

We give gifts to each other with the intent that the recipient would be pleased with the gift being given and receive it with grace. God gives us wonderful gifts. He gives us life and then promises life eternal if we choose His only begotten Son as our Lord and Savior, for that is the Gift God gives each one who believes. Christ is the Gift of Grace, the Gift of Lovingkindness, the Gift of Mercy promised to a thousand generations. Jesus is the Gift of Hope, the Gift of Wisdom. The Holy Spirit is the Gift of Understanding, the Gift of Revelation, the Gift of Guardianship.

God gives us beauty. He has created the universe: the stars, the moon, the sun, the planets, the galaxies, the Milky Way, the comets, the nebulae, for His pleasure. God has created the earth and everything in it because it makes Him happy. He is still creating: people are constantly finding new animals and plants; though they call them evolutionary developments, adaptations to a changing world.

God gives us Himself. He wrapped His Word in a fragile package of flesh and bone (John 1:14) and had His Holy Spirit place it in a young virgin, whom He found faithful to Him. (Luke 1:35). That's Love. His plan of Salvation would soon be fulfilled. The Gospel of repentance and faith would soon be among us. In fact, even now, The Lord is Present.

COME AND SEE

Are you aware of The Presence of God? Can you hear Him calling you to enter into His presence? Come, come and see The King of The Jews. Come, come and see the tomb is empty, for He has risen. Come, come and rejoice over the lost sheep that has been found. The Spirit and the Bride, they say, Come, come and hear. God is calling you to be near Him. That's a Wonderful Gift to be given to mere mankind. Our heavenly Father wants us to be near Him, with Him, forever and ever.

Come, come and see the Newborn King (Luke 2:8-20). Come, let us go up to the mountain of The LORD (Micah 4:2). Come, let us enter His courts with thanks giving and praise (Psalm 100:4 ). Come, let us sing for joy to The LORD (Psalm 95:6). Come and see Jesus (John 4:29; John 1:46; John 1:29-34).

So, I say now, this day: Come, come and see Jesus. Contemplate and consider The WORD of GOD. Believe that this JESUS the CHRIST, the MESSIAH, is indeed The Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world! Come, come and see for yourself, with the eyes of your heart, with the ears of your understanding. Come, come and see JESUS. And stay near to Him all the days of your life.

The Lord is Our Defence

        Psalm 89:18
For the LORD is our Defence; and The Holy One of Israel is our King.

The Lord is our Defence and our Defender. He shields us with Himself from the evil which tries to provoke us, weary us, tarnish our reputations and take us out.
        Psalm 84:11
For the LORD God is a Sun and Shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
We need to hear His Voice and heed His Word that we may be the people who "walk upright". Walk with integrity. Walk in grace. "Live by Faith". How we live in our everyday lives is our walk. Whether we walk with Christ or not.
If you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, if you have not made the most important choice of your life, it's not too late. Now is the time to repent and follow Christ. Today is the day to kneel before Him, ask forgiveness for your sins and be filled with His Holy Spirit.
        Isaiah 33:22
For The LORD is our Judge, The LORD is our Lawgiver, The LORD is our King; He will save us.
And save us He did. John 3:16,17 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
Only then, when you believe, can Jesus be your Defence, your Defender. I'd rather be in the hand that holds the hilt (the pommel {counterweight}, the handle, the guard) than feel the wrath at the foible (the sharp pointy tip).

The Lord Is Your Keeper & Your Shade

THE LORD IS YOUR KEEPER & YOUR SHADE
    Psalm 121:5
The LORD is your Keeper; The LORD is your Shade at your right hand.

The Lord keeps His people from knowing hunger and knowing thirst, for He is our Bread and He is our Water, our Living Water. He feeds us with His Word and our soul is satisfied. We who live in The Lord live in the shelter of The Lord: Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty."
As our Keeper, He protects us, guards us, leads us and watches over us. As our Shade, He covers our heads with His covering, His covenant. In Him, as the verse says, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28; Job 12:10). He is Life to us. Without Him life would not exist.
The Lord is MY Keeper, MY Shade. He protects me even when I am unaware of danger or the possibility of danger in my path. He holds me up and draws me close at the same time to bring me near His heart.
The Lord is Everything to me. Is He Everything to you? Why not start trusting Him now? Give The Lord your heart and let Him lead you where He wants to take you today.

The Lord Is Near to The Brokenhearted

THE LORD IS NEAR TO THE BROKENHEARTED

Psalm 34:18

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.

Deuteronomy 4:7
For what nation is great enough to have a god as near to them as the LORD our God is to us whenever we call on Him?

Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

ONLY the brokenhearted will approach God; the arrogant have no place at His table. The brokenhearted soul seeks comfort in times of grief, sorrow and pain. At the feet of Jesus, Who experienced grief, sorrow and pain, we meet Someone Who knows all our troubles, all our secrets and all our wants.
When we realize Who God really is, we also realize that we are very blessed to have this God love us and care for us and help us through life. We surrender our hearts and our lives to God and become His humble servants, knowing that He is with us all the time.
    Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

He does, indeed, heal the brokenhearted. The mournful know joy in the presence of The King. Even when our hearts get broken again and again and again, over and over and over. Though darkness rules this world, its rule is temporary; God is God and His Word is True. But while darkness reigns, death reigns. Unless. Unless the soul that seeks God finds God and learns to see The Light of God's Salvation for themselves. Then The Light of God's Love will shine into their hearts and make Itself at home there.
It is good to be brokenhearted before The Lord, for then He will come near and make His presence known. The broken heart will surely repent of all its sins against God and seek His forgiveness that their heart might be healed of all unrighteousness. For it is only by the stripes across His back that we are healed at all.
There were two men hanging near Jesus on their crosses. At first both taunted Him (Matthew 27:44). But then, according to Luke 23:39-42, one thief called Jesus "Lord", an acknowledgement that He knew Jesus was different than they themselves and he asked to be remembered when Christ came into His kingdom. That thief's request was granted. Jesus' stripes healed his sins, too.
The fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom, says King Solomon, the writer of The Book of Proverbs (Proverbs 9:10). To not have this fear and believing that one can approach God without it is a fool's errand and no such person will be able have any kind of access to God.
Broken hearts get mended. But hardened hearts get crushed. It is amazing to me to know that even when facing God in their last moments that many will still choose not to see Him, not to hear Him, not to fear Him. Revelation 6:16 tells us that in the face of God's wrath, the wealthy ran and hid in caves begging for the rocks to fall on them to hide them from God. They are fools. God sees everything and everyone. He knows who belongs to Him and who does not. He knows who fears Him and who reviles Him.
I belong to Him and He belongs to me. Can you say that?

The Lord Is A Friend

 To Those Who Fear Him

Psalm 25:14 (ESV)
The friendship of The LORD is for those who fear Him, and He makes known to them His covenant.

FRIENDSHIP WITH THE LORD
Proverbs 3:32
For the perverse person is an abomination to The LORD, But His secret counsel is with the upright.
Proverbs 18:24
A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a Friend Who sticks closer than a brother.
John 15:14-15
You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.

THE FEAR OF THE LORD
Proverbs 8:13
The fear of The LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Psalm 19:19
The fear of The LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of The LORD are are true and righteous altogether.
Proverbs 1:17
The fear of The LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Psalm 111:10
The fear of The LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have they who do His commandments: His praise endures forever.
Job 28:28
And He said to man, 'Behold, the fear of The LORD, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil, that is understanding.'
Proverbs 10:27
The fear of The LORD prolongs days, but the years of the wicked are shortened.
Proverbs 15:33
The fear of The LORD is the instruction of wisdom,  and before honor is humility.

So we see that to trust in God and obey His Word brings us both friendship with Him and a desire to learn and be taught by Him in His Word. He teaches us to fear (revere: respect and awe) Him. By our willingness to know and understand His Word, The LORD is able to teach each one who asks to be taught by Him. This is why we need His Holy Spirit.
It is The Holy Spirit's job, work, to open our eyes to see and understand what God reveals to us when He reveals it (and not before). These are the steps we take when we walk with Jesus and talk with Jesus and God. His Word tells us that His Word is a Lamp to our feet and a Light to our path: The Light of Christ shines on and through The Word of God. Think of it as solar lights lighting our path at night and the moon and stars shining their lights from above. We see much better with both lights to light our way: the light from above lights our path, the light from nearby lights our steps. So, too, this is how The Light shines in The Word.
May you find yourself a friend with Jesus. May your eyes be opened with understanding and your hearts opened with wisdom.

Then The LORD will appear over them, and His arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord GOD will sound the ram's horn and advance in the whirlwinds of the south.

Zechariah 12:9

Zechariah 14:3

The Lord Is Ever Present

Psalm 139:7-10
Where shall I go from your Spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me.

Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
2 Chronicles 16:9a
For the eyes of The LORD roam to and fro over all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him.
Ezekiel 1:15-21 speaks of the four wheels within wheels, covered with eyes, that goes where The Spirit goes.
Jeremiah 23:24
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? said the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? said the LORD.
Hebrews 4:13
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account.

Job 34:22
There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide.
Revelation 6:16
And they said to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb."

Colossians 1:15-17
The Son is the image of The invisible God, The Firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

God even sees us when we are being created in our mothers' wombs. He is with us from the beginnings of life to the end of life.
Psalm 139:13-16
For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well.
My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be.

The Lord Lives!

Psalm 18:46
The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Job 19:25
But I know that my Redeemer lives, and in the end He will stand upon the earth.

Luke 24:5-7
Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,
saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”

Luke 24:46, 47
And He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and in His name repentance and forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem."

John 3:14,15
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.

John 20:31
But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His Name.

1 John 5:11
And this is that Testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

The Lord Is A Refuge For The Oppressed

Psalm 9:9
The Lord is a Refuge for the oppressed, a Stronghold in times of trouble.

2 Samuel 22:3
My God is my Rock, in Whom I take refuge, my Shield, and The Horn of my Salvation. My Stronghold, my Refuge, and my Savior, You save me from violence.

When it seems as if there is nowhere to run, no place to hide, come to Jesus. He longs to be your Hiding Place [Psalm 32:7]. His arms, His heart, are big enough to hold the whole world, for God has said to Him that the earth is The Lord's footstool [Isaiah 66:1; Hebrews 10:13 cf/ Psalm 110:1].
The Lord is MY Refuge, MY Hiding Place, MY Stronghold in the day of trouble. I emphasize the word 'my' to show that The Lord is a personal God. He desires a personal connection with each of us, a relationship that complements one another.
David wrote in Psalm 23:1, The Lord is MY Shepherd. In Exodus 15:2, Moses wrote, The Lord is MY Strength and MY Song: "The LORD is My Strength and My Song, and He has become My Salvation. He is My God, and I will praise Him, My father’s God, and I will exalt Him." Isaiah continued this refrain in 12:2 "Surely God is My Salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. For the LORD GOD is My Strength and My Song, and He also has become My Salvation.”
The Lord God is MY God, MY Savior, My Saving Grace, MY Refuge, My Fortress, The Horn of MY Salvation. The Lord hides me under the shelter of His wings. Those who seek to me to destroy me cannot find me. They who think only wicked against me will find themselves falling and failing wherever they wander when they come against me. For I am safely abiding in Him
The Lord God is MY Anchor, He holds me steadily amidst the crashing waves and keeps me afloat. The Lord God is MY Home, My Faraway Country, MY Nation for His Word tells me that His people are a holy nation [1 Peter 2:9] living under the banner of a holy heavenly King. Therefore The Lord God is also MY King, My Banner of Love under Whose standard I dwell. I am home. I am at peace.
Though the ship rocks and the winds blow, I will not be moved from The Rock on which I stand. My feet are firmly planted and in Him I take my stand. The believer has a Mighty God Who is Able to take care of His people. Come and join us on The Rock, be anchored in His all-encompassing unconditional Love and rest your weary souls at His feet.

The Lord Looks On The Heart

1 Samuel 16:7

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”

Psalm 139:23,24
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 119:80
Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes, That I may not be ashamed.

The heart of mankind is naturally deceitful, even deceiving itself. For the eyes look upon what a person wants, desires even, and sets in motion the steps required to attain the thing that is sought after; at times without even thinking of the consequences.
But the heart that has given itself to God has won the struggle for survival: it has chosen eternal life and everything else that God has promised to His faithful followers. However the opposite is also true: those whose hearts are against God and God's Word have opted for eternal death and every curse God has promised to the wicked heart.
A heart that is focused on self-serving desires instead of God-serving desires will not be able to obtain that which is needed most to survive: God-given forgiveness for sins. The self sees only the immediate and demands immediate gratification. But the person who has surrendered their will to God's will has chosen the better way: the way to Grace, Mercy, Peace, Hope, Sustainability.
A heart that beats for Jesus collaborates with its Savior. He is, after all, working all things together for my good. All things: the good that happens in life, the tragic that happens in life, the awful that happens in life = God uses all these to make me a better person with a strong testimony that I might be a faithful witness and lift JESUS up for all the world to see.
A heart that beats for Jesus beats in unison. For Christ is in me and I am in Him. He is mine and I am His. When The Father says, "Go", we go. When The Father says, "Stop", we stop. When The Father speaks, we hear His voice, listen to His words and obey His instructions. As you know, "Faith comes by hearing, hearing by The Word of God" [Romans 10:17].
A heart that is broken for God is mended by God in God's time according to God's Ways. This heart is surrendered to God and longs to be near to Him. So close that His breath is in my ear and His Spirit is visible and His Son is by my side. Oh, how the believer's heart yearns to be in God's eternal presence!
Come and go with me. Walk with me as I walk with Jesus. Let us walk in God's Word together. The journey is nearly over, the race is nearly finished. Soon, the faithful servants shall hear their Father say to them, "Well done, My good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of The Lord." [Matthew 25:21].
We can't see inside each other's hearts. But God knows who are His and who are not. However, we can see each other's actions. If you say you are a Christian, then you should be Christ-like. That's what being Christian means: the believer lives in Christ. He is our Promised Land, our everything good that comes for God residence. When the term 'Christian' was first used, it was an epithet, an insult. But it was received as an acknowledgement of the change which Christ had wrought in the hearts of those who believe Him and received Him. Being called Christian was a reason to rejoice then and now.
I am a Christian. I live in Christ. And He lives in me. Can you see the changes God has wrought in me?

The Lord Is King of Glory

Psalm 24:8
Who is this King of Glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Psalm 93:1
The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith He has girded Himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.

Psalm 10:16
The LORD is King forever and ever; the nations perish from His land.

Revelation 19:16
And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

We are to throw open the doors of our hearts and welcome, embrace The King Who has declared His great love for us, when He died on the cross, fought death, hell and the grave: overcoming all three by rising from the dead and walking out of the grave with a new body, the firstfruits of the new kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 15:23.
Revelation 3:20 tells us that Jesus Christ knocks on the door and waits to be let in, where He can dine with us. Psalm 23:5 reminds us that God prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies: when the enemies of God have nothing, the people of God have everything and lack nothing (Psalm 23:1). The King of Glory desires only the best for those people who recognize Him as their King.
Who is this King of Glory? Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God. He is The Anointed One. Anointed to suffer, anointed to die, anointed to rule as King by God His Father. He is Chosen out of all of heaven and earth to fulfill God's plan of salvation and redemption. He is The Lion of the tribe of Judah, The Root of Israel. Revelation 5:1-5. And He is to be praised.
Who is this King of Glory? He is The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world - John 1:29. He is The Word of God wrapped in flesh - John 1:14. He is King forever. And this King of Glory is MY KING OF GLORY. He called me out of darkness into His marvelous LIGHT - 1 Peter 2:9. And I answered Him by running to the foot of His cross, repenting of my sins, weeping and heartbroken I knelt at His feet and He forgave me, wrapped me in His arms and carried me away with Him.
Who is this King of Glory? He is the Bridegroom in search of a Bride who is without blemish and without stain - Matthew 25:6,10; 1 Peter 1:19 - a Bride who is pure and undefiled. He is coming soon to gather His Bride, His Church.
Now is the time to get ready for The King of Glory's return. Now is the time to prepare our hearts. Now is the time to hear The Word of God, believe The Word of God is True and Faithful and receive The Word of God into our hearts and lives. Now is the time to be baptized by The Holy Spirit of God. Now, before Christ returns to get His Bride and leaves with both her and His best friend: The Holy Spirit Who has been preparing the Bride of Christ to be with Him forever.
So I pray: Lord, send a revival and let it begin in me.

The Lord's Voice Is Powerful

Psalm 29:4

The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

Psalm 68:33
To Him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which were of old! Indeed, He sends out His voice, a mighty voice.

The Voice of God is as a sound of thunder to those who cannot hear Him clearly:

1 Samuel 7:10
As the Philistines drew near to fight against Israel, Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering. But that day The LORD thundered loudly against the Philistines and threw them into such confusion that they fled before Israel.
Exodus 20:18,19
Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”

The Voice of The Lord can be soft, too, and still be powerful. It is heard with the spirit of the one who hears Him speak. God spoke the world and everything in it, on it, under it, over it and around it into existence. That's a powerful Voice.
God's Voice is the Voice of Wisdom in The Book of Proverbs. It is the sound of the wind rushing into the upper room, the sound of confusion to His enemies, the sound of comfort to the grieving and mournful. The Voice of The Lord still speaks.
He speaks in our hearts if we are willing to open up our hearts and listen to His Voice. He is speaking even now. Are you going to open up your hearts and let Him in so He can speak as Friend to friend?? Or are you going to shut the door of your hearts and not let Him in? Your choice. Choose wisely. For the days are short and getting shorter.
    Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.

A Crucified Life - - Answers The Call to Serve With Gladness

    Psalm 100:2
Serve The LORD with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!

It is impossible to serve The LORD with gladness if there is none in our hearts. We need Jesus Christ living in us and The Holy Spirit's guidance working through us to know what true gladness and joy look like.
Lip service is not what God is about. He makes promises that He keeps. For instance, He promised a Savior way back in Genesis 3:15 and kept it in Matthew 1, Luke 2 & John 1.
God promises to never leave nor forsake us:
-Deuteronomy 31:8 "The LORD Himself goes before you; He will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.”
-Hebrews 13:5 "Let your manner of life be without covetousness, being satisfied with the present; for He Himself has said: "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you."
-Matthew 28:20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
God is the ultimate Promisekeeper. We can trust Him. Always.
Trust in The LORD
Psalm 119:9-11
Proverbs 3:5
Isaiah 26:4
Psalm 62:8
Isaiah 12:2
We can serve God with gladness and come into His presence with singing because we have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We, the church, are the bride of Christ and we are anticipating His return to come and bring us back to the place He has prepared for us.
We can serve God with gladness and come into His presence with singing because our sins have been forgiven! Great is God's faithfulness to forgive us our sins when we repent of them.
We serve with gladness because the Joy of The LORD flows through us and overflows into anyone who comes near us and/or hears us rejoicing. Our cups overflow.
Psalm 16:5
The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
Psalm 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

A Crucified Life - - Answers The Call to Serve God With Fear

    Psalm 2:11
Serve The LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

    Psalm 119:120
My flesh trembles in awe of You; I stand in fear of Your judgments.

    Psalm 89:7
God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

Hebrews 12:28
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

Fear: reverent, godly caution

To serve The LORD with fear is to revere Him, to honor Him, to adore Him above all. Above all kingdoms, above all thrones, above all other gods which try to distract us from The One God. For there is only One LORD God. His Name commands our attention. His Word demands our reverence. His presence is holy and by it demands that we are to be holy, too.
Having this godly fear within us makes us aware of just how much God really loves us. Having wrapped His Word in the frailty of flesh and bone, God sent Him to (1) Be born of a virgin; (2) Minister to the people; (3) Die on the cross (conquering sin); (4) Rise from the dead (conquering death, hell and the grave).
How can we not serve The LORD God with fear? How can we not come into His presence with rejoicing with trembling? We are so very thankful that He loves us so much! We are filled to overflowing with gratitude, so much so, that as God's holy people, worship exudes from our souls at all times.
Who is The LORD that we should give such fear and trembling to? Here is but a taste of Who The LORD our God is:
    Psalm 24:8
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
    Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His Name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
    Daniel 7:14
And He was given dominion, glory, and kingship, that the people of every nation and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
    Revelation 19:16
And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Come, let us worship The LORD our God.

A Crucified Life - - Answers The Call to Worship The Lord

    Psalm 96:9
O Worship The LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before Him, all the earth.

    1 Chronicles 16:21
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness.

    2 Chronicles 20:21
Then Jehoshaphat consulted with the people and appointed those who would sing to the LORD and praise the splendor of His holiness. As they went out before the army, they were singing: "Give thanks to the LORD, for His loving devotion endures forever."

    Psalm 95:6
O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

    Matthew 2:2
Saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him.

Adoration. Loving devotion. Worship. God wants our worship. He tells us His Name is Jealous (Exodus 34:14) and that what He desires is for us to choose to adore Him. He commands His people to worship Him above all other gods, for the gods of this world are nothing (Exodus 20:1-6).
Come, let us worship The LORD our God in the beauty of His holiness. Let us clap our hands and shout! to The Lord (Psalm 47:1). Let us kneel down (Psalm 95:6). Let us raise our hands (Psalm 28:2; 1 Timothy 2:8). Let us play our musical instruments for Him (Psalm 98:5,6).

A Crucified Life - - Answers The Call To Wait & Keep

    Psalm 37:34
Wait on The LORD and Keep His Way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land: you will look on when the wicked are cut off.

We know that to wait on The Lord is to come near when called and to serve Him in whatever capacity He has called us to serve. Whether we wash dishes, fix engines, build houses, mop floors, prepare lessons, drive trucks, scrub toilets, change diapers, fix leaky pipes, etc. Wherever we are, as long as our hearts are right with The Lord, we are in His service.
Many preachers have been called to not only serve in the pulpit but to build it, as well. The Lord builds His church and designates who does what. But sometimes the pastor does more than "just preach". He is the plumber, the electrician, the janitor, the spackler, the sweeper, the window washer. In each he waits on The Lord, he serves.
Many a parent multitasks throughout parenthood. This is a job that never ends. Here we wait on The Lord as parents, doing double duty: in the home we are parents; on the job we are the employer/employee.
No service is too mean when we are in The Lord's service. Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
Keeping His Way is to guard, to protect, to hedge ourselves with His Word. It is to surround ourselves with The Word of God. We pray that He leads us, guides us, guards us (Psalm 23). We pray that He carries us through, and walks with us. We pray that God surrounds us with Himself, keeping our enemies at bay as we wait on His purpose to be accomplished within us and through us.
We surround ourselves with like-minded praying people in our lives that we may strengthen each other in The Lord. The hand washes the foot, the heart pumps the blood, the diaphragm gives voice to the mouth. This is the body of Christ in service to God.
(1 Corinthians 12:12-26)
If I step on a sharp object, the immediate acknowledgement of pain comes out of my mouth. The body knows when the foot is in pain. If I gaze longingly at that maple doughnut, the stomach knows the eyes have seen something good and the nose has smelled a fantastic aroma, immediately the mouth waters. The body knows what satisfies the stomach.
So, if we remain in His service, waiting on His commands and keeping them, we will receive our reward in due time. We are to wait and keep with joy and honor. We are people of integrity. We are people of praise.
We are the body of Christ: we will be broken and poured out when we humble ourselves to wait on God's timing and keep living our lives in obedience to His Word.

A Crucified Life - - Answers The Call to Commit

    Psalm 37:5
Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Most of us think we know what 'commit' means. But what is God's definition of commit?
To make a commitment to another person is to be faithful in that relationship, whether we are friends, spouses, colleagues or coworkers.
To make a commitment to an employer is to make a promise to abide by company rules and regulations; to be on time and do the work for which one is hired according to the pay one is promised.
To make a commitment to one's country is to pledge one's self to obeying the laws of the land as long as these laws are not contrary to God's laws.
COMMITMENT GOD's WAY
What does it mean here when it says we are to Commit our ways to the Lord? God wants us to trust Him. And talk with Him.
>1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all our anxiety on Him, which lines up with Matthew 6:25-34 where Jesus tells His disciples to not worry about the necessities of life, but seek the kingdom of God and all His righteousness.
>Psalm 55:22 says "Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken."
>Psalm 62:8 "Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah.''
God wants to meet us in prayer. Committing our way to The LORD means living our lives according to His Word and His Way. When we become born again believers, we stop being the person we were before we got saved and begin to live the life of a new creation, for we are a new person in Christ.
When we repent (confess our sins and turn away from them, stop doing those sins), God promises, makes a commitment to, forgive the repentant sinner. Our sins are washed away by the blood of God's Lamb, His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. We are clean and fresh and new.
Making a commitment to God is making a promise to God that we will be faithful in obeying His Word, faithful in seeking Him out, faithful in trusting Him to care for us in everything; faithful in doing the work He entrusts us to do.
I, like the faithful servants in the parable, also seek to hear those beautiful words from my Lord and Master, "Well done, My good and faithful servant." (Luke 19:17, 19) I do not wish to hear what He told the unfaithful servant (Luke 19:22-27).
Hear the Word of The Lord. Today is your day to surrender your hearts and your lives to Christ. Tomorrow is not promised. And our days are shortened and getting shorter. This, too, is promised. (Matthew 24:22)
PEACE OF MIND COMES FROM TRUSTING THE LORD
    Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
SUCCESS COMES FROM A COMMITMENT TO THE LORD
    Proverbs 16:3
Commit your works to the LORD and your plans will be achieved.
A relationship without communication is an empty relationship: you're existing but not living. There are no anchor points to hold together the relationship.
We need God. By His Word we are formed and in His Word we are made complete. Let us commit our lives even now to loving Him, obeying Him, adoring Him. Let us live joy-filled faithful lives as we await His return to bring us home with Him.
