MY SOUL PROSPERS

MY SOUL PROSPERS
3 John 2
Beloved, I pray above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
1 Thessalonians 1:3
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.

The believer is to prosper in preaching the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. We are to live Christ's example of service by being lovingly obedient to God our Father; to serve one another in Love, TRUTH Love, Divine Love.
Honorably and with integrity.

1 Timothy 1:14
And the grace of our Lord overflowed to me, along with the faith and love that are in
 Christ Jesus.

Now, I ask you, how could God's grace overflow unless I was prosperous in His work?

DEVOTION TO TRUTH

DEVOTION TO TRUTH
3 John 3
For I was overjoyed when the brothers came and testified about your devotion to the Truth, in which you continue to walk.
Psalm 119:11

The Word and The Truth are the same: JESUS CHRIST.

JEHOVAH 'ERECH APPAYIM

JEHOVAH 'ERECH APPAYIM
(YAH-WEH 'AREK APH)
THE LORD IS SLOW TO ANGER
Nahum 1:3
The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. His path is in the whirlwind and storm, and clouds are the dust beneath His feet.

Slow to anger means more than patient, it is longsuffering or allowing for long stretches of time at a time.
John 3:16-17 tells us God loves the world of people He creates, that He didn't send His Son to condemn us but to save us.
The Bible says God is slow to anger, it doesn't say God never gets angry. Eventually, the longsuffering will end, God will move against those people and nations who have refused to repent and turn to Him; then, you better hope and pray you are not one of them.
This passage in Nahum is speaking of Nineveh, and the destruction which came upon the city and its inhabitants who refused to turn their hearts to God.
But because we know The Word of God is Living and breathing, we know that what happened then could and will happen even in our day.
To day is your day of salvation. Call upon the name of the LORD and walk in His ways today, while it is still today. Keep in His Word and His Word will keep in you.

Tho' None Go With Me Still I Will Follow

We have reached that stage in life, and in our world,
where we must make a decision to either
follow the demands the world makes on us
or follow Jesus. But how should I follow Jesus?
First, I must follow Him in LOVE, unconditionally and without exception Loving everybody, regardless of their identity, race, gender, ethnicity or politics.

1 Corinthians 14:1
LOVE should be your guide. Be eager to have the gifts that come from the Holy Spirit, especially the gift of prophecy. (CEV)
1 Corinthians 13:2
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not LOVE, I am nothing.

Second, I must follow Him in RIGHTEOUSNESS
Proverbs 15:9
The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, But He loves him who follows RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Proverbs 21:21
He who follows RIGHTEOUSNESS and mercy Finds life, RIGHTEOUSNESS, and honor.
Proverbs 3:21-22
My son, do not lose sight of this: Preserve sound judgment and discernment (Godly wisdom).
They will be life to your soul and adornment to your neck.

Thirdly, I must follow Jesus in FAITH.
1 Timothy 6:11
But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, FAITH, love, endurance, and gentleness.
2 Timothy 2:22
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, FAITH, charity, peace, with them that call on
the Lord out of a pure heart.

Fourthly, I must choose to FOLLOW Christ when He calls me.
Matthew 4:19
And he said unto them,
"FOLLOW Me,
and I will make you fishers of men."
Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone wants to FOLLOW after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and FOLLOW Me.

While these steps may seem difficult to do, we were given a HELPER to help us accomplish the tasks God gives the Church to fulfill: His Holy Spirit.
John 15:26
But when the HELPER comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me."
Acts 5:32
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.
Luke 12:12
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour
 what you ought to say.
And what is the number one thing we see about the Holy Spirit whom God has given us? He is HOLY. Therefore, we must be HOLY, too.

Hebrews 12:14
Follow PEACE with all men, and HOLINESS, without which no man shall see the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-6
For it is God’s will that you should be HOLY: You must abstain from sexual immorality; each of you must know how to control his own body in HOLINESS and honor,
not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God;
and no one should ever violate or exploit his brother in this regard, because the Lord will avenge all such acts, as we have already told you and solemnly warned you.
1 Peter 1:15-16
But as He which has called you is HOLY, so you be HOLY in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be HOLY; for I AM HOLY.
1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of Peace SANCTIFY you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved BLAMELESS unto the coming of our LORD Jesus Christ.

Though none go with me, I will FOLLOW CHRIST.

Love Notes August 17 thru August 22

MONDAY

AUGUST 17

THE ANOINTING TEACHES TRUTH

THE ANOINTING TEACHES TRUTH
1 John 2:27
And as for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But just as His TRUE and genuine anointing teaches you about all things, so remain in Him as you have been taught.
Matthew 13:11
He replied, "The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
Now that the believer has Christ living through them and the Holy Spirit teaching them, the mysteries of God are being revealed. And, as long as the believer remains in God, God will remain in them, as well as the Spirit of God, who will continue to teach the believer all that God reveals in His Word, which must also remain in us.

 TUESDAY

AUGUST 18

                              CONFIDENT & UNASHAMED

CONFIDENT & UNASHAMED
1 John 2:28
And now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.

By remining in The Word of God, Jesus Christ, we can be confident and unashamed when He returns for His church.
Ephesians 3:12
In Him and through faith in Him we may enter God's presence with boldness and confidence.
Colossians 3:4
When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

WEDNESDAY

AUGUST 19

ACTIVE RIGHTEOUSNESS

ACTIVE RIGHTEOUSNESS
1 John 2:29
If you know that He is Righteous (Holy), then you also know that everyone who practices righteousness ( justification) is born of Him.
John 1:13
But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.
John 7:18
He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory, but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is a man of Truth; in Him there is no falsehood.
Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus, the Author (Founder) and Finisher (Perfecter) of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

THURSDAY

AUGUST 20

WALK IN LOVE

WALK IN LOVE
2 John 6
And this Love, that we walk after His commandments And this is His commandment, That, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
John 14:15
If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Deuteronomy 13:4
You are to follow the LORD your God and fear Him. Keep His commandments and listen to His voice; serve Him and hold Him fast.

FRIDAY

AUGUST 21

MANY DECEIVERS
2 John 7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
*deceiver = misleader, impostor, liar
*antichrist = against Christ the Messiah

1 John 4:2-3
By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is already in the world at this time.
John 10:4-5
After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice.
They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice.

SATURDAY

AUGUST 22

BE ALERT

BE ALERT
2 John 8
Watch yourselves, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be fully rewarded.
Luke 21:8
And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Hebrews 10:35
So do not throw away your confidence; it holds a great reward.

The Bible tells us we are to watch and pray. One of the things we are watching, or guarding, is our heart. Just like a garde we determine what gets planted in our hearts. When we believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Holy Spirit places this Word within our hearts But it is up to us to read our Bible, praying for understanding when we do so.
That which is not of the Bible should not be allowed to take root in our spiritual garden, our heart. We need the Word of God living there so we can recognize what the weeds of unrighteousness are.
The second thing we do is pray. Prayer is more than a suggestion box with lists of needs and wants: it is a Lifeline. Communication with God is the air we breathe.
The more we take care of what we have accumulated in Christ the greater our reward. We can only imagine what that reward might be. More of Jesus, feasting in His presence and taking great Joy in His delight.

TELEIOTOS

Sifting the Church

The Church is not only sleeping, she's gotten lazy waiting for her Groom's return. Where are the all night prayer meetings? Where is the seeking for God's face? Where is the hunger? and thirst?

Yes, there is a famine for the hearing of the Word of God! Because there is a lack of preaching the Word of God.

Luke 3:16 & 17

John answered all of them: "I baptize you with water, but One more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

His winnowing fork (sifter, sieve) is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather the wheat into His barn. But He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

When God sifts the world and the chaff blows away, the Church will get sifted first because it is her responsibility to call out to the lost in sin the Way to the Cross and the Garden. She is required to shine her Light, the Light of Christ, into the darkness of a despairing, dying world.

Revelation 22:17

"Both the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" Anyone who hears should say, "Come!" And the one who is thirsty should come. Whoever desires should take the living water as a gift."

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Covering, No Entry

While this sign I made may seem humorous to some and outrageous to a few, it's actually Scriptural.
Matthew 22:1-14
The King's Banquet

See, guests had been invited by special messengers which the King had sent out, but instead of RSVP-ing, the guests declared they were too busy to attend and refused the invitations. Again the King sent out his messengers but the guests beat and killed the messengers.
Then the King invited guests who had not been invited originally and they came. They were delighted the King had noticed them and overjoyed to be asked to come to his house and dine.
They were given the proper clothes to wear and sat down to eat. But when the King made his rounds visiting with each guest, he noticed there was a man who was not properly clothed and asked him, "Friend, how did you get in to this dinner without the proper garments on?" But the man was speechless. Perhaps he did not think he would be noticed amongst what he may have considered to be a ragtag crowd.
But since he wasn't fully prepared to dine with the King, he was forcibly removed and thrown out into 'utter darkness'. He wasn't welcome to this lavish party, so he could not stay.
Many are called, but few are chosen. -- Matthew 22:14

REMAIN IN THE SON

REMAIN IN THE SON, REMAIN IN THE FATHER

1 John 2:24

As for you, let what you have head from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father.

When the Word of God, which we have heard and received, remains in us, then The Word -- Jesus Christ -- The Son remains in us  And because this Word is in us,

we are in Him and in the Father.

How beautiful and simple is that?

PROMISED ETERNAL LIFE
1 John 2:25
And this is the Promise that He Himself made to us: Eternal Life.
Eternal Life is not for everyone. Not everyone will live after death, after this life ends. This Promise from God is made to those who believe in God and God's Son Jesus Christ, The Messiah, The Holy One of Israel,The King of Glory.
Only those who believe that Jesus Christ Is Lord receive this Promise of Eternal Life through the death and resurrection of Christ.
Are you one of those people? Can you say Amen?

Love Notes August 3 thru August 8

MONDAY
AUGUST 3
LOVE NOT THE WORLD (structure)

1 John 2:15
Do not love the world or anything in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the Love of the Father is not in him.

The world, in this context, refers to the world system, the moral structure of how the world works.
When we give our love to the world structure instead of to the Father to whom this love is due, then the Love of the Father is not in us.
Loving the world in this factor means we are embracing worldly values, our hearts are skewed.
We must turn back to God the Father and repent of this wickedness before it is too late to turn.
TUESDAY
AUGUST 4
WORLDLY DESIRES (ARE) FROM THE WORLD

WEDNESDAY
AUGUST 5
WORLD PASSING

THURSDAY
AUGUST 6
THE LAST HOUR

THE LAST HOUR
1 John 2:18
Children, it is the last hour, and just as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. This is how we know that it is the last hour.

We are not living in the last days, as many are living their lives under that illusion. We are living in the last hour, as the apostle so clearly stated when he wrote this epistle so long ago.
While the abomination of desolation who will declare himself god and dare to sit on the throne in the temple that is being built, many who disbelieve God's Word Is True make varying antichrist claims:
> there is no god
> there is no sin
> there is neither heaven nor hell, therefore this life is all there is
> I can do what I want without repercussion or consequences
> money is power
> the Bible is just a book of fairy tales
> my good deeds will gain me entrance into heaven, if there is one

The above list is just an example of antichrist beliefs, but what was true when the Bible was written is true today. For the Word of God is Alive and powerful. It never changes.

FRIDAY
AUGUST 7
UNDEARLY DEPARTED
UNDEARLY DEPARTED
1 John 2:19
They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But their departure made it clear that none of them belonged to us.

John is speaking of wolves in sheep's clothing. People who appear to be Christians, but actually are not.
2 John 1:7
For many deceivers have gone out into the world, refusing to confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.
These antichrist speakers and teachers were never a part of the body of Christ, though their words and actions appeared to make them Christians, eventually the distorted truths they were speaking in the church were revealed and they had to leave.
How do we recognize antichrist people? By knowing the Word of God. By asking the Author, God, to reveal Himself to us when we read it. And believing that what His Word says is Truth. Unfallible, undeniable divine TRUTH.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

SATURDAY
AUGUST 8
ANOINTED BY GOD

I Am Able To Spring Clean

"I am able to do all things through Christ Who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

  • I am able to walk -- Mark 1:34
  • I am able to talk -- Matthew 12:44
  • I am able to see -- Mark 10:51
And because I am able to do ALL THINGS through Christ Who strengthens me with Himself, I can

  • Clean my closets
  • Wash the dishes
  • Sweep the floors
  • Help my husband keep our house
  • Help my husband organize and toss out things (yes, we are spring cleaning in the summer!)
If the items in our house have no viable use or purpose, then out they go. Some things must stay, besides the furniture, linens, clothes and dishware. So, through Christ, I am able to discern what is important and what is not. My desk will finally be organized so I can see it again. And our closets will be empty.
