Walk With Me

Walk With Me

Speak life
Speak grace
Speak Your Word
As I run this race
You've set before me
The path I must take
So, walk with me
All the way

All the way to my destination
All the way til Your face I see
Walk with me

You are the Living Water
that I thirst for
You are the Bread
that satisfies
You are the Honeycomb
sweet to the taste
So, walk with me
All the way

All the way to my destination
All the way til I see Your face
Walk with me

Speak Life
Speak Grace
Speak Your Word
As I run this race
You've set before me
The path I must take
So, walk with me
All the way

Bread and fish upon the fire
The disciples' saw their hearts desire
Your shining face was their reward
When they reached their destination
They walked with You
all the way

All the way til we reach our destination
All the way til Your face we see
Walk with us
All the way.

Speak life
Speak grace
Speak Your Word
As I run this race
You've set before me
The path I must take
So, walk with me
All the way

Walk with me
All the way
Walk with me
All the way

Walk with me......

Deep Well

John 4:1-42 tells us of the Samaritan woman at Jacob's Well and her encounter with Jesus Christ.
Here we focus on 10-14, their conversation at this well.

When we first meet Jesus, it is not the water that is murky, but the veil covering our eyes that makes it difficult for us to see Jesus clearly. It is only when we believe what we are hearing, that the veil is torn from our the eyes of our heart, allowing our soul (*the mind, the will, the emotions) to view Jesus Christ clearly.

We drink that Living Water when He pours Himself into us through our belief in Him: that He Is Lord, that God sent Him to die for us, that He rose from the dead and walked out of the grave. When we believe, our thirst is quenched.

To hunger and thirst after righteousness is to hunger and thirst of the Righteousness of God: Jesus Christ. JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU: THE LORD MY RIGHTEOUSNESS. 1 Corinthians 1:30 "But of Him are you in Christ Jesus, Who of God is made unto us Wisdom, and Righteousness, and Sanctification, and Redemption."

I have that Living Water living in me. And when The Holy Spirit of God moves upon that water, The Word of God flows out of me.  John 7:38 "He that believes on Me, as The Scripture has said, 'out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water'. Proverbs 18:4 "The words of a man's mouth are as deep water, And the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook."

So, today I am giving you a cup of cold water, Living Water. I am sharing Jesus with you and inviting you to drink deeply with me.

Cistern vs. Fountain

A man I deeply admire and respect, and yes, even love, went home to be with our Lord and Savior a few years back. But before God called him home, I was privileged to hear one of the last sermons he preached. And after re-studying it just now, I would like to share it with you here.

Cistern vs. Fountain
June 16, 2002
PM Service Rev. Barker, Full Gospel Ministry

[first we came together in prayer, in Scripture (Matthew 18:19 "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven"), and agreed that God's will be done concerning the pastorate at River of Life (the church I attended where his daughter and son-in-law then pastored]

Jeremiah 2:13 "For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water." The clearest example is pictured in this verse. A fountain is filled from the deep and below. A cistern is built and holds only what is put into it. For instance, the woman at the well filled Jesus' request for water. John 4:6,7 Yet Jesus offered her water which would quench her thirst forever John 4:9-14

6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well:and it was about the sixth hour. 7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saithunto her, Give me to drink   9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me,which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesusanswered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Giveme to drink ; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 Thewoman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence thenhast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, anddrank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her,Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that Ishall give him shall never thirst ; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of waterspringing up into everlasting life.

Luke 24:13-21 The Road to Emmaus. 13 And, behold , two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened . 15 And it came to pass , that, while they communed together and reasoned , Jesus himself drew near , and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. 17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk , and are sad? 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? 19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. These followers had become cisterns. They knew only the teachings which Jesus had put into them. At His death, they turned away to unbelief.

Galatians 1:6, 7 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert thegospel of Christ. An attempt at building cisterns. Turning away from the Gospel of Salvation through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ will create a broken cistern. It will hold nothing.

John 7:38 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said , out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. Rivers of living water flow out of the belly, which is deep within or below the heart. For what is in the heart will come out of the mouth. What is in the belly will come out in your life. Through your stomach you receive nourishment, that your body might be made strong and do the works that God has given you to do.

The choice is yours: Do you want to be a cistern? Or do you want to be a fountain?

*the reason Brother Barker chose Matthew 18:19 to pray together with is because he and I were the only two people who came to church that night. I think the pastor and family were on vacation that night. Perhaps other congregants believe there to be no church that evening. I am so glad I was there.*

Revealed

I am Fire

I am Wind

I am Water

I am Friend

I am the God of the ages

the Wisdom of sages

I am Power

to live again.

Take hold of Me

Hang on tight

Never let Me go

Hold on with all of your might

For in your weakness

I am Strong

In your shadows

I am Light

In your moment of truth I am revealed

And in your heart,

My Promise is sealed.

You are Fire

You are Wind

You are Water

You are Friend

You are the God of the ages

the Wisdom of sages

You are Power

to live again.

I take hold of You

I hang on tight

Never let You go

Hold on with all of my might.

In my weakness You are Strong

In my shadows You are Light

In my darkest hour, I can walk in Power

You won't leave me, You are here.

Psalm 63 A Song of Revival to Me

PSALM 63
A SONG OF REVIVAL TO ME

O God, You are my God: early will I seek Thee:
My soul thirsts for Thee, my flesh longs for Thee
In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water...
I need water. Give me water. Lord, how I thirst for the water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary
To see Your power and Your glory...
I need water. Give me water. Lord how I thirst for the water.

Thy lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise Thee. Thus will I bless Thee while I live
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
I need water. Give me water. Lord, how I thirst for the Water.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness
My mouth shall praise Thee with Joyful lips:
When I remember Thee on my bed, I meditate on Thee in the night.
Because You have been my help,
In the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
I need Water. Give me Water. Lord, how I thirst for Your Water.

My soul follows close behind You. Your Right Hand upholds me.
They that seek my soul to destroy it Shall go down into the earth.

For I have Water. You give me Water.
O Lord, You are my Water
O Lord, You are my Water.......

{i have set this to music. it is Psalm 63:1-9}

Leaky Bucket

Knowledge without wisdom is like carrying water in a bucket full of holes without spilling any.

See we can know about God. We can believe there is a God. But if we truly want to know God personally, intimately, we need to hear God. Hear His spoken Word and believe it to be true. Read His written Word and believe it to be true. Accept His living Word and believe Him to be the only begotten Son of God: Jesus Christ, Messiah, Yeshua, Redeemer, Saviour, Jehovah, Friend, King of Kings, Lord of Lords; the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

His Name is Wonderful, God Most High, Creator, The God Who Sees. He lives in a house not made with hands: our hearts. Because we ask Him to forgive us of our sins, wash us clean and make us whiter than snow. Clothe us with holiness and righteousness. Give us pure hearts that we may see the face of God and live. God sees our hearts and our thoughts. He knows us better than anybody else could ever know us. But how well do we know God?

How intimate is our relationship with Him? How personal, how close do you want to be? I am in whispering distance.

Wisdom seeks God out before any decisions are made; not as a last resort. It has been said that when all else fails, pray. I say pray first and see what God can do.

Wisdom chooses God's way of doing things and not our way. We are the most impatient species on the planet. God is a God of patience. We want things yesterday and now. God waits. We want what we can't have, don't need or isn't good for us. God gives us what we need and what is good for us. We tend to hold grudges and carry chips on our shoulders. God forgives. Over and over and over and over.....etc.......

Wisdom is the primary tool of the Holy Spirit. He moves through us revealing more of God and more of ourselves. He shows us not only what needs changing, what needs cleansing and what needs removing, but how to do all of it. He shows us who wants to be saved when we let Him do the leading. Doors of opportunity open every day. When we can't go to people, the people go to us.

Wisdom seeks the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which we desperately need in our lives. He is the Comforter, the Guide, the Friend of the Bridegroom who prepares the Bride and leads her to the Groom. Wisdom knocks down walls and builds bridges.

Knowledge says "I need water. I have a bucket. My bucket has holes in it. I will do it anyway."
Wisdom says "I need water. I will need a new bucket."

Hidden Eggs

Imagine what would happen if we sought God and God's ways as earnestly and eagerly as we look for hidden Easter eggs. The things we do for temporal ownership of items is greater than the things we do for eternal items.

Unemployment is up and we are a statistic. Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink. Oil in the Gulf of Mexico fills the waters on several coastlines. Industry and basic sustainability are removed with one blow. Waste drains into local lakes and rivers; medications and bio-hazards clog our water filtration systems causing drinking water to be contaminated.
Even thrift stores suffer when the population is unemployed. Basic skills are required from us to meet our daily needs. And with the majority of us used to buying off the rack or out of the market, sewing, baking, cooking and cleaning are high on the skill list again.
But, wait. There is still one thing that seems to be missing from this list of things to do to keep afloat. What am I missing? God? Yes, God. Where is God in all of these bad things that are happening. He's waiting. He is waiting for each of us to seek Him out, to search Him for direction and what to do. He waits you know. God is not pushy. He will not force Himself on you if you want nothing to do with Him. God waits.
Revelation 3:20 says He stands at the door (of our hearts) and knocks. He waits to be invited in, and welcomed as a guest in our lives. Matthew 6:31 says not to worry about where our next meal is coming from, where to find potable water, where to get clothes to cover our bodies. Why? Because Christ tells us in Matthew 6:33, 34 "Seek you first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and ALL THESE THINGS shall be added unto you. Take no thought for tomorrow: for the morning shall take care of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
