The Lord Is Obedient

THE LORD IS OBEDIENT

1 John 3:8

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

From the manger to the cross to the grave to the heavenly place where He is seated at the right hand of God. He has fulfilled God's plan of salvation: Jesus has obeyed His Father and has been elevated to King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

THE OBEDIENT SERVANT

Titus 2:14 Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

1 Timothy 2:5,6/ Matthew 20:28/ Galatians 1:3,4/ Galatians 4:4,5/Philippians 2:8

FROM THE MANGER

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

TO THE CROSS

Luke 23:33 When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left.

Psalm 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Isaiah 53:1-8/ Romans 4:25/ Galatians 3:13

TO THE GRAVE

Isaiah 53:9-11/ Mark 15:46/ Luke 23:53/ John 19:38-42/Acts 2:32/Acts 3:15/2 Corinthians 5:21

Acts 2:24  But God raised Him from the dead, releasing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for Him to be held in its clutches.

Acts 10:40   God raised Him up on the third day and caused Him to be seen.

HIS STATUS ELEVATED

Isaiah 52:13 Behold, My Servant will prosper; He will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.

Isaiah 53:12/ Philippians 2:9-11/Daniel 7:14/Ephesians 1:20, 21

TO THE HEAVENLY PLACE

Acts 1:9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

1 Timothy 3:16 By common confession, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by The Spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among the nations, was believed in throughout the world, was taken up in glory.

SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus The Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Psalm 110:1/Matthew 22:44/Matthew 26:64/Romans 8:34

A Crucified Life - - Answers The Call to Surrender

    Isaiah 1:19
If you are Willing and obedient, you will eat the best of the land.

Willing. Choosing to surrender my will, what I want, for God's will, what He wants. Considering all the components of obedience and disobedience, I choose to submit to His Ways, that His purpose might be fulfilled in me and through me.
A surrendered heart is a humbled heart. It is the art of self-discipline: forming new habits in Christ by faithfully applying The Word of God to my life. God writes His Word on my heart. The Holy Spirit applies The Word to my life. This Word is Christ, Life Immeasurable and Eternal.
It takes willingness to serve in God's kingdom. If a person is not willing to set aside their agenda, then that person is not ready to serve God. Sometimes it's a struggle to get there, but the more we submit to God's Authority, the less struggle there is and the more satisfaction there is.
We need to be willing AND obedient. It doesn't do us any good if we are willing to serve God, but remain in a disobedient lifestyle. It is impossible to please God if we insist on living in sin. A sin-filled lifestyle is in direct conflict with a holiness lifestyle. Sin must be repented of, confessed to God and turned away from in this life, before a person can be of any use in God's kingdom.
Are you ready to be willing and obedient? God knows your heart and what you are thinking. We need to become "less" as we develop a holy lifestyle and Jesus needs to become "more" (John 3:30 "He must increase, but I must decrease.").

A Crucified Life - - Is Humbled & Obedient

Philippians 2:8
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death -- even death on the cross.

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 5013
Humbled: to make low
From the Greek word 'tapeinoó' (pronounced tap-i-no'-o): stoops to become a servant.

Now, be honest with yourself. When was the last time you humbled yourself and did what God was asking you to do?
Jesus humbled Himself. He put aside the comforts of His home and went on a journey. A journey whose earthly journey began in a stable. A journey whose ministry of being the gospel led to the cross, the tomb and the garden.
He chose to leave the beautifulness of heaven and come to a sinful world that He might die on the cross for us. He chose the nails. He chose to be obedient to His Father. He chose what He chose for the sake of Love
    John 3:16,17
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
    John 1:24
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
    Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
Willingly. Obediently. By choice. Making an independent decision to do what His heavenly Father was asking Him to do.
Just as, when God calls each of us to do a task, we must each make that same independent decision to hear, trust and obey. The decision to choose between making a right godly choice and making the decision to do what we want to do is accomplished on a day to day basis. All day long we are tempted to sin, to turn against God and live in rebellion. But all day long, God waits for us to turn to Him for help.
He's not pushy and will not go where He is not wanted. Do you want God in your life? Then you need to ask Him to come into the heart of your life: the center of our being needs to be the center where He is being, living, loving.

Lord, I have failed You many times, please forgive me. Help me to live a humble and obedient life, as I follow You in my journey. I, too, am a wayfaring stranger. And I need You with me day and night. Not my will but Yours be done.
In Jesus' Precious Name,
Amen.
