YAH OZ ZIMRATH
(pronounced YAH OZE zim-RAHT)
THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND SONG
Exodus 15:2
The LORD is My Strength and Song, and He is become My Salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare Him a habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt Him.
Nehemiah tells us that "the joy of The Lord is our strength". Is this joy present in your life today? Are you delighting in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? Or are you a 'glum Nelly', a 'sad sack'?
Turn to Jesus and remain in Him through prayer (communion with God), through Bible study (read a verse or passage daily; praying over it and asking The Holy Spirit to reveal what God wants you to know today). Remain in Him in the congregation of His church, His people. Gather together with other believers for worshiping together and hearing The Word of The Lord being given by an anointed minister of God.
Find a church that not only preaches The Word, but lives The Word, that practices what it preaches. Working together in God's kingdom to share the gospel message of salvation through Jesus Christ is a wonderful way to retain the joy of our salvation.
The Lord is my God. We prepare a habitation, a dwelling-place, for Him. We turn our hearts to seek His face. And in doing so, we realize that we are not ready and need to repent of whatever it is The Holy Spirit is bringing to our thoughts. We repent, God forgives us, and now our hearts are ready to bring Him praise and worship.
We ask Him, "Lord, prepare us to be Your sanctuary. Wash away the stain of sins which is in our hearts. Cleanse our minds and renew our spirits. Make room within us for more of You. Lord, we want to know You more. May there be less of us in us and more of You in us." And His reply? We are forgiven. We are encouraged to forsake the things which have gotten us into trouble. We are encouraged to remain in His Word that He might remain in us. More of Him and less of us.
Joy is known within us. We radiate the love of Christ from within us outwards to a seeking population: seeking something better than what they have. We shine the love of Christ into the darkness of this world causing the darkness to flee from where Christ is received.
The Lord is My Song. My Song. Of Him I sing. Of His many mercies I sing. Of His amazing grace I sing. Of His plentiful blessings I sing. Of His wondrous love I sing. I have the joy of The Lord Living in me! Come to Jesus and know this joy for yourself. He's calling you today to draw near to Him.
