Warrior of The Word - The Tongue of Discipleship

Isaiah 50:4 (ESV)
The Lord GOD has given Me
the tongue of those who are taught,
that I may know how to sustain with
a Word him who is weary.
Morning by morning He awakens Me;
He awakens My ear to hear
as those who are taught.

Though the prophet Isaiah is speaking here, it is Christ who speaks through him. That's prophecy, The Word foretold through the writings of one of God's faithful servants and friend, Isaiah. Because Isaiah was willing to learn what God had to say.
Are we in a place where we are willing to learn what God wants to say to us? The word 'disciple' means learner, one who learns what is being taught. In other words, disciple is student.
A disciple listens to the teacher, taking in the words of wisdom and instruction, as a thirsty man slakes his thirst at a cool spring. The thirsty never get their fill of godly instruction. The hungry are never satisfied with just the crumbs. The true disciple goes back to the teacher for more instruction, more learning, more learning to apply what is being learned.
Here Jesus Christ is telling us that He is learning the tongue of discipleship. The tongue that He will speak to the weary soul, calling that soul to strengthen it and give it rest, true rest. Rest in Christ Himself.
    Matthew 11:28
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Just as Isaiah learned to listen to God, to hear what He had to say through Isaiah's mouth and writing, so, too does Jesus listen to God that He may speak what The Father would have us to know.
    John 12:49, 50
“I have not spoken on My own, but The Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it. And I know that His command leads to eternal life. So I speak exactly what The Father has told Me to say.”
    Hebrews 4:9, 10
There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His.
The  tongue of discipleship has a learning ear. Instruction enters it when morning awakens the listening soul. O soul, are you eager to rise when the voice of The Lord enters your hearing? Slumber falls into the shadows of dawn and the listening heart rejoices to hear its Master's voice.
But too many hear The Word of The Lord without hearing The Word of The Lord. Their ears are deaf and their hearts are hardened. They receive about as much instruction from The Word as a wooden idol. A pebble hears better than they do.
The tongue of discipleship drips like honey. Each Word that The Teacher speaks enters sweetly into the ear of the learner. Proverbs 16:24 says it best. Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.
The Law of The Lord comes from The Lord GOD. For He it is Who gave us The Law to begin with. And note, it is ONE LAW. One Law composed of many regulations. And this Law of The Lord GOD is sweet and desirable to the faithful disciple. The Law is The Word, and The Word is Jesus Christ. One Law, One Word, One Savior.
    Psalm 19:10
More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
    Psalm 119:72
The Law from Your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.
How can The Law come from The Lord's mouth unless that Law is spoken. In order for that Law to be spoken, The Words must be orated. And The Word accomplishes Itself, for It does not return to The Father without having done so.
    Isaiah 55:11
So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But It shall accomplish what I please, And It shall prosper in the thing for which I sent It.
   John 19:30
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
    Mark 16:19
After The Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
We praise You, God, for all that You speak to Your disciples. O Lord, help us to be able learners of Your Word, applying it to our daily lives. Open our ears and our hearts to receive Your instruction, that we might become holy vessels of honor for Your use. Fill us with Your precious Holy Spirit right now, O Lord, that You may find us faithful servants and friends. You have made us Your sons and Your daughters through the precious blood of Your Son Jesus Christ. We have received Your Word knowing the consequences of such obedient faith and we long to see Your face when we have run our course.
To You be all the glory and honor and praise! Amen.

Warrior of The Word

1 Peter 4:11
If anyone speaks, he should speak as one conveying The Words of God.
If anyone serves, he should serve with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to Whom be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

It is not possible to speak The Word of God in Truth unless we have The Spirit of God living in us, working in and through us, to empower us with God's strength. He is the fresh Wind which blew through the upper rooms where 120 disciples of Christ waited for The Promise of The Comforter to arrive and aid them in the advancement of God's kingdom.
Unless He is leading us to study out for ourselves that we may know God and His Christ more fully day by day, we are reading our Bibles without understanding and our ability to learn is faulty. For we have not the Fire of God burning within us, calling us out of the darkness of our hearts and this world, into the Light of God's presence.
Come to the cross and see Jesus. Look up at Him and say, as the Centurion soldier did, "Truly this Man was The Son of God".  But let us say, "Truly this Man IS The Son of God!" Embrace the cross of Christ, the blood-stained symbol of humility and death and forgiveness. For it is here that we are forgiven when we repent of our sins against God.
Come to the garden and see Jesus. Draw near to Him, as Mary did, when He spoke her name. For He speaks your name even now. Being God and The Word of God wrapped in flesh, He was able to overcome death, hell and the grave, walking out of the tomb (leaving it empty) and into a resurrected body, a glorified body; as 'the firstfruits of God'. The only God Who died for all of us also conquered death for all of us.
Come to the upper room and see He Whom Jesus has sent to us. Be prepared. Out of the thousands who followed Jesus only 120 men and women were now gathered together in fellowship and prayer, waiting for the arrival of The Comforter. They did not know what or who to expect, nor how this Comforter would arrive. But they were neither afraid, nor fearful.
Come to Jesus. Come to The Word. Come and see.

It Is Written - Speak The Word

It Is Written
Words that force The Word of God to remind the enemy of God that GOD IS and THERE IS NONE OTHER. That His Word is powerful. And strong enough to repel every attack which is come upon His people.
It Is Written - House of Prayer
Matthew 21:13 And said unto them, "It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."
A reminder to God's people that we are His houses of prayer.
~MESSIANIC PROPHECY~
It Is Written - Numbered With The Transgressors
Luke 22:37 "For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, 'And He was reckoned among the transgressors': for the things concerning Me have an end."
Many prophecies concerning the coming Messiah which had been written by the prophets were being fulfilled in Jesus' time because He Is The Messiah. Events which foreshadowed His life and His mission are written in The Old Testament. For example, when Adam and Eve sinned the first sin, blood had to cover their sin. So, the first physical death was an animal of God's choosing. I think it may have been a young lamb; simply because an unblemished, perfect lamb had to be sacrificed at the temple to cover the sins of the people every year. And we know that Jesus is God's perfect Lamb (John 1:29).

~CHRIST'S TEMPTATION IN THE WILDERNESS~
It Is Written - Man Lives By Every Word of God
Matthew 4:3. 4 The tempter came to Him and said, “If You are The Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
It Is Written - Do Not Tempt God
Matthew 4:5-7 Then the devil took Him to the holy city and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple. and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt The LORD your God.’ ”
It Is Written - Worship God
Matthew 4:8-10 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” “Away from Me, Satan!” Jesus declared. “For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’ ”

When Satan, the devil, tempts God's people, we can rebuke Him with The Word that is within us, for Christ Jesus lives in us by faith in His Name. We cannot let hunger of any kind, or hopelessness in any situation, or fame, greed get inside our hearts, for we would lose the righteousness of God. We must stand firm in our faith in The Word of God, filling our hearts and our minds with every Word of God which He speaks to us.

~FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD~
It Is Written - God Frustrates The Intelligent
1 Corinthians 1:19, 20 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
It Is Written - The Righteous Live By Faith
Romans 1:17 For the gospel reveals The Righteousness of God that comes by faith from start to finish, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
It Is Written - Christ Came to Be The Ultimate Sacrifice For Sin
Hebrews 10:7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’ ”
It Is Written - All Will Be Taught By God
John 6:46 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.
Luke 24:27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself.
Proverbs 2:6 For The LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding
John 8:47a Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God

Do you hear the words of God?

Prayer Cards - Speak The Word

Colossians 4:4
Pray that I may declare It clearly, as I should.

To declare is to make an announcement of great importance. It is to speak with clarity that all who hear may understand the declaration being given. To declare is to call out in hopes that someone who hears will also listen and take to heart what is being made known.
To declare is to reveal The Truth of what was previously unknown and make it known. It is to illuminate, make apparent, what could not be seen in the darkness, but can only be known in The Light.
Pray that the speaker will be anointed by God's Holy Spirit to share The Word of God which has been given to the speaker to share, preach, teach, enjoin (urgently encourage).
Pray that the speaker is filled with God's Love and Light, eagerly declaring The Living Word of God to the seeker's heart.
Pray that the speaker is clothed in the Righteousness of Jesus Christ, living a fully committed life in surrender and submission to the call of God on that person's life. That the evidence of being a Christian, a Christ-follower, is evident even to those who don't personally know that speaker.
Pray that the speaker has a sound mind and can counterattack all who come against him or her with The Word of God. Pray that their stand is in Love and Wisdom, keeping silent where silence is called for, speaking up when a voice needs to be heard.
