One Nation (Not) Under God

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him Who has called you out of darkness into His Marvellous Light.

The only nation that is truly under God is the holy nation of the righteous in Christ. And that nation is scattered all over this big, blue, beautiful globe.

The US of A is not one nation under God and hasn't been since she was founded. Though the pilgrims came here seeking freedom to worship, read the Bible, and live Biblically founded lives, they were not the only ones who washed up on these shores. They were not the only ones who lived here at that time either.
The people who lived here first were stolen from, killed and enslaved by other peoples whose hearts were not right with God. We are a nation of thieves and murderers, as well as a nation of Christians and other religious foundations. We are not "one nation under God".
The phrase originates in our pledge of allegiance: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." In 1954 President D.D. Eisenhower added it in order to define American values from Soviet atheism.
Over the years, America's values have changed. In many of her cities and neighborhoods, God is neither seen, nor heard. But He is there. There is violence in her streets and corruption in her governments. For the hearts of many are closed against Him and refuse to open the door to their hearts where Christ stands knocking. Yet, even now, He knocks at the door of all hearts who have not received Him in. He waits for you to open the door of your heart and let Him in. [Revelation 3:20].
The heart that believes Jesus Christ is Lord and receives Him as its Lord and Savior is the basic requirement for becoming a member of the nation under God. We have opened the door to our hearts, invited Him to come in and even now are dining with Him. We are the people who have become the only nation that is under God in every sense of the word.
We are under His wing-He is our Protection. We are under His hand-God shelters us. We are under His covenant-He is our God.
We are under His Name-He is The God of our Christ. We are under the blood of His Christ, His Lamb-He is our Savior. We are under His Mercy-He is our Redeemer. We are under His Grace-He is our Guide.
This is not the condition of the country in which I reside, though I am thankful that this is where God would have me to be born. It is, however, the condition of the nation into which I have been born-again. And being born-again is the only way to gain citizenship. [John 3:3].
Some day all nations will fear God and worship God.
    Psalm 102:15
So the nations will fear The Name of The LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear Your glory.
    Revelation 15:4
"Who will not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your Name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed."
    Malachi 1:11
"For My Name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place, incense and pure offerings will be presented in My Name, because My Name will be great among the nations," says The LORD of Hosts.
Until then we proclaim The Name of Jesus to all nations, cities and neighborhoods. We speak the love of God into your hearing and hope that you ask Jesus into your hearts and live your lives according to His Word with the Help of His Holy Spirit.
Come to Jesus and become a citizen of heaven today. He is your only passport into Eternal Life, for He is Life Eternal.
