He Took My Sins Away

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Titus 2:14
He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
The Amplified Bible reads it this way:
Who [willingly] gave Himself [to be crucified] on our behalf to redeem us and purchase our freedom from all wickedness, and to purify for Himself a chosen and very special people to be His own possession, who are enthusiastic for doing what is good.
Anyone can know this wonderful blessing of salvation through Jesus Christ. We just need to place our faith in His Name and live a life of holiness through His Holy Spirit. It won't be easy to live a Christ-filled life at times, but it will definitely be worth it.
The psalmist wrote, knowing that God saves, but not yet having seen The Christ, "Wash me clean of my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin." Psalm 51:2.
Isaiah knew he was in the presence of The Holy God, and recognized his own sins insomuch that God was able to cleanse him from all unrighteousness with a hot coal from His own ever-burning heavenly altar: "Then I said: “Woe is me, for I am ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips dwelling among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Isaiah 6:5-7.
In this age of the church, The New Testament age, we read that Christ died for all sinners. That's me and that's you. That's the sinners who died under the old covenant (in the Old Testament), too. Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Hebrews 10:10 "By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."
Hebrews 7:24, 25 "But because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them."
Hebrews 2:9 "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone."
I pray that you know this Amazing Grace which is only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross; that you follow Him in life and allow God's Holy Spirit to have His way in you. Even more so than I have.

Psalm 23 - The Lord Is

This week I am in Psalm 23 and Psalm 23 is in me.

THE LORD IS SHEPHERD

The LORD is my Shepherd:
I lack nothing.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures:
He leads me beside still waters

THE LORD IS RESTORER

He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake.

THE LORD IS DEFENDER

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff they comfort me.

THE LORD IS PROVIDER & PROVISION

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies:
You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.

THE LORD IS EVER NEAR

Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I shall live in the house of The LORD forever.

The Lord Is King

Psalm 47:2

For The LORD Most High is terrible; He is a great King over all the earth.

Psalm 95:3

For The LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Psalm 22:27-29

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to The LORD. All the families of the nations will bow down before Him. For dominion belongs to The LORD and He rules over the nations. All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before Him—even those unable to preserve their lives.

As both subjects and travelers will bow in the presence of earthly kings, so, too, will all bow in the presence of THE KING. Even if they don't want to, they will. For in the hearts of those who have rebelled against God in life, they will recognize in death that they were wrong and that Jesus Christ is indeed King of Kings and Lord of Lords. But for them, those, as the psalmist writes, they will not live; for they chose in this life to live without Christ in theirs. And, so, their lives were not preserved; their souls perished and will continue to perish.

Romans 14:11

For it is written: “ As I live, says The LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”

Philippians 2:9-11

Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him The Name above all names, that at The Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God The Father.

God made a Way for every person to avoid going to hell for their sins. He calls this Way, The Way of Holiness. The entrance is through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, Who came to this earth that He created to die for our sins; Who conquered death, hell and the grave by walking out of the tomb after a major spiritual battle in death, into a new glorious body.

The Bible calls Him at this time, The Firstfruits: 1 Corinthians 15:20 "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become The Firstfruits of them that slept." He is the First to rise from the dead and remain so. Though many had been brought back through the power of God from death, they all died again and remained dead. Until Jesus rose from the dead. Until death was conquered with such great a victory! The King is King Forever! The Lord is Lord forever! Hallelujah! What a mighty God we who believe choose to serve!

Friends, Not Servants

JOHN 15:15

No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.

See the difference between being a servant and being a friend? A servant is obedient and does as instructed, but a friend knows why and does as he is instructed with joy and understanding.

Proverbs 17:17 tells us that a friend loves at all times. We know that when no one wants to be around us for the Truth we speak of God's Word, then it is not so much us they are avoiding, it is God in us.

Yet, David wrote in Psalm 2:11 that we are to "serve The Lord with fear and  rejoice with trembling." Is this contradictory? No. To serve The Lord with fear is to honor Him; it is to put God first in every aspect of our lives; it is to make no decision without consulting Him first. It is to seek the will of God, know and understand the will of God and to act upon this knowledge with such joy that we are overcome by the emotion of being in His presence.

It is the love of God for us that has caused us to put our faith in Him. It is the hand of friendship being extended towards us through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ that has caused us to come near to God, that we may hear Him speak more clearly. Both Isaiah (Isaiah 1:18) and James (4:8) inform us that God says we must come close to Him that He may come closer to us. Employees/servants do not do so. Friends, however, transcend the employer/employee relationship.

Isaiah reminds us in 1:19, 20 that it is our willingness to obey/follow The Lord that brings about this wonderful blessing of friendship. Yet, a warning is given in verse 20 that to ignore this magnificent gesture from God, of drawing close to Him, is to sign our own death warrant.

James (4:8) tells us that our words and our actions need to align with our hearts, and that, as Christians, our hearts must align with The Word of God. A person whose heart follows after the teachings of Christ wholeheartedly leaves little room for doubt and faithlessness. In Christ, we are His friends. Outside of Christ, we are His enemies.

I am a friend of God, for I am in Christ. Where are you?
