FATHER OF LIGHTS

James 1:17

Every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with Whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 

God Creates Light:

Genesis 1:3

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

2 Corinthians 4:6

For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 33:6

By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the stars by the breath of His mouth.

God Never Changes:

Variableness: change, mutation, fickleness

This verse in James is the only time this word 'variableness' is used. 

Psalm 102:27

But You remain the same, and Your years will never end.

Daniel 2:22

He reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him.

God Gives Good Gifts & Perfect Gifts:

Good: describes what originates from  God

Psalm 139

Perfect: mature - going through the necessary changes to reach the end goal

2 Corinthians 3:18

And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.

For the second and third Sundays of this month I used two previous Names as fill-ins as I was not at my computer for awhile.

The LORD is my Light and my Salvation: whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

But now I am once more ensconced at my desk, ready to take on new tasks and overcome new obstacles.
