I Will Sing of My Redeemer

Psalm 96:1

O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

Psalm 40:3

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

Isaiah 42:10

Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise from the ends of the earth—you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who dwell in them.

Revelation 5:9

And they sang a new song: "Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood You purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue and people and nation."

What New Song is this which everyone is singing? The Song of Redemption. The Song of The Redeemed. The Song of Redeeming Grace, of God's Love Exemplified.

I AM REDEEMED - Big Daddy Weave
AMAZING GRACE - Chris Tomlin

While the angels in heaven can worship with song and with music, only the redeemed of The Lord can worship from a sinner saved by grace standpoint.

I'M JUST A SINNER SAVED BY GRACE - Gaither Vocal Group

How did we get to be the redeemed of The Lord? By believing the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. He is our Redeemer, our Savior. Let me show you the Way.

Nobody is good enough  to go to heaven on their own merits- Romans 3:10
Everyone is a sinner - Romans 3:23
But God loves us so much He sent His Son to die in our place - Romans 5:6; John 3:16
We deserve death for our sin but God's plan of salvation is a Gift to those who believe - Romans 6:23
When we speak out loud that we believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in our hearts that this is true, God saves us, redeems us - Romans 10:9-10
Everyone who calls on Jesus' Name for their salvation is saved - Romans 10:13

Signs & Wonders of Christ's Arrival - - Exceeding Great Joy

Matthew 2:10
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 4970
Exceeding: very much, greatly, go all-out, extreme, deeply
From the Greek word 'sphrodra' (pronounced sfod'-rah).
Also used to describe great fear, as in Matthew 17:6.
Used to describe a level of emotion being felt or the quantity of wealth or lack thereof.
(cf) Matthew 26:22; Matthew 27:54; Luke 18:23; Acts 6:7; Revelation 16:21.

Upon seeing the star the wise men 'rejoiced' with 'exceeding great joy'. Not a calm delight, nor mere inner peace, but over-the-top joy. Pure joy because they knew they were getting close to where the new King was. Pure joy for they knew they would soon and very soon see His face.
Pure joy because they could not contain such ecstatic joy within themselves.

I don't know about you but when I experience uncontainable joy, I sing. Can you imagine the ruckus they made after leaving Jerusalem to travel northwards to Bethlehem? Three grown men, traveling on desert animals themselves and with pack animals loaded with their gear: clothes, bedding, foods, shelter. Having traveled from the land east of Jerusalem for two years they would have needed a goodly supply to get them through. Even if they stayed at the local inns occasionally.

Now picture all of that and them singing, too. Rejoicing with exceeding great joy. Being wise men, they were learned men. They knew the arts, including music. Songs of praise never sung before would have welled up within their hearts and poured out from them. One could imagine a bass, a baritone and a tenor; at least I can.

Having pored over the prophecies and written books of what we call the Old Testament, the Word being in them to lead them and guide them through said prophecies may have put the words of great joy into their mouths, as well. Do you not know that when we who write songs under the guidance of the Holy Spirit have already dug deep into the Scriptures, too? (And I'm still digging).

David knew such joy. He wrote hundreds of songs about God in The Book of Psalms. Such as Psalms 148:1 "Hallelujah! Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise Him in the highest places." Isaiah wrote, "Sing for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done this; shout aloud, O depths of the earth. Break forth in song, O mountains, you forests and all your trees. For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and revealed His glory in Israel."

Zephaniah 3:17 even tells us that God will sing over His people with joy, when He restores them, "The LORD your God is among you; He is mighty to save. He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.”

How can we not shout to the Lord with a voice of triumph, as in Psalm 98:4, "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." A joyful Noise, a Loud noise: shouting high praise to God. As the angels sang to the shepherds, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Thanks Be To God - - Sing His Praise For His Salvation & Deliverance

Psalm 106:47
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto Your holy name, and to triumph in Your praise.

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 3467
Save: yasha (pronounced yaw-shah') means (in this context): deliver (this word occurs 206 times in the Old Testament Scriptures); is sometimes rendered: help, defend, liberate
*Strong's Ex. Conc. 3034
Thanks: yadah (pronounced yaw-daw') means:  to confess, to glorify, to give praise while throwing one's hands or arms up. (occurs 114 times in Scripture)
*Strong's Ex. Conc. 7623
Triumph:  shabach (pronounced shaw-bakh') means: laud, praise God (occurs 11 times in, 8 of which refer to God or God's power Scripture)
*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 8416
Praise: tehillah (pronounced teh-hil-law') means: 'song of praise', adoration, thanksgiving, laud, hymn (occurs 57 times in Scripture)

Only The LORD God can save/liberate/help a person stuck in sin.

We can be relatively good people our whole lives and not be saved. We can go to church/temple and not be saved. Whether we sing contemporary worship songs or traditional hymns, just singing these songs of praise will not save us. We can grow up in loving homes surrounded by the Word of God being shared in our homes and our churches, yet, still not be saved from the consequences and punishment of our sins.

We will never be 'good enough' to get to heaven on our own merits. God says our self-righteousness is comparable to filthy rags:
Isaiah 64:5, 6 "You welcome those who gladly do right, who remember Your ways. Surely You were angry, for we sinned. How can we be saved if we remain in our sins? Each of us has become like something unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind."

When we do our own thing and not the LORD's thing, that's sin.
Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Not just some of us, either, but ALL of US.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

How can we Triumph in His praise when we have nothing to be triumphant about when we continue to live a life that is displeasing to God? We can't. All those praise and worship songs coming out of our mouths are just noise. God can't hear your worship because you're not His people.

God's people are saved by God's grace. Did you hear me? GOD's People are SAVED by GOD's GRACE. This salvation is our Inner Garment, a Righteous Robe that covers our soul (Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh); a Crown of Life (James 1:12); a Crown of Righteousness  (2 Timothy 4:8); a Crown of Glory (1 Peter 5:4);   a Crown of Glory & Honor (Psalm 8:5 and  Hebrews 2:7). We are, according to 1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light."

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 703
Praises: arete (pronounced ar-et'-ay), which means: moral excellences, goodness, uprightness, virtue which is displayed to enrich life

Dear God,
You are God and there is no other god before You. You are holy. You are faithful. You keep Your promises. You are the God who saves and delivers. You have saved me out of all my transgressions, my iniquities and my sins. Sin still tries to drag me down, but, You, O God, have saved me from the miryness of sin's clutches.
Your grace is my covering. Your love is my adornment. Your salvation is my armor. Your wisdom resides in my heart. Your Word is my Light, my Song, my Hope, my Everything.
Thank You, Father, for saving a wretch like me. For sending Your Son to die in my place and for raising Him from the grave, the First of us to do that. Thank You, Father, for all Your many mercies and blessings on me, Your child, Your servant, Your friend. You call me friend. And I am content.
And, now, I thank You, God, for what You are doing in the hearts and lives of my families and friends. For though we are born into one family, we gain many more along the way on this journey. Thank You for saving and delivering my many families, my friends, the strangers whom I encounter, they who declare themselves my enemies.
Thank You for pouring out Your Holy Spirit into our hearts and lives that we may live empowered lives which draw people to You and cause us to be bold, loving witnesses of Your grace.
To You be all glory, honor and praise.
In Jesus' Priceless Name, I pray,
Amen

A New Song

He has put a new Song in my mouth, even praise unto our GOD: many will see it, and fear, and put their trust in The LORD.
 Psalm 40:3

Waiting on God for deliverance does not mean just sitting around like a lump on a log. We are to continually seek Him out, praise Him for who He is and what He has done.

Each time we open our mouth to praise Him,
 thank Him, love Him,
we are rendering to our God a NEW SONG,
a song which has not been uttered by us before,
nor through our mouths, until that precise moment
when we open our mouth and declare His glory.

And where does this song come from?
HE has put a new song in my mouth.
Not like we put such and such an item in its place,
but through our faith in our God,
such peace and joy as only comes from Him,
instantly fills us with the desire to sing His praises!

Let us give God the glory for His is GOD!
And greatly to be praised and adored!

I Like To Sing New Songs

04112013

I like to sing a new song

Everyday

to the King

I like to sing

new songs

new songs

to The King

The sun rises in the east

and travels across the skies..

My sights awaken and I begin

to sing His praises again.

Songs that have never been sung

Songs that have yet to be heard

Songs that bring joy to the heart

Songs that sing His Word..

I hear the sounds of life

I breathe the air anew

I see the sunlit sky

I smell life renewed

And it's God who created all this

Every single day'

For His glory and pleasure

It's God whose praise I sing!

I like to sing new songs

you see

I like to sing to The King

I like to sing for His pleasure

Songs that are pleasant to sing!

I sing the song of Redemption

How Jesus died for me!I sing the song of Salvation

How His blood washes me clean.

I sing the song of the ages:

A love story that seldom is told.

How The King of Heaven left His glory

For to save my wretched soul.
And it's God who created

A way for this story to be:

He sent His Only Begotten Son

To die on Calvary!

I like to sing a new song

Everyday

to the King!

Everyday a new song

Is sung to King Jesus

you see

We sing the song of Redemption For the One whose praises we sing..

la la lalalala la la la lala la

(as you see, God has been with me, all this day long. as for seeing the sun rise, it sure was not today as the skies have been overcast and the backyard is flooded. but the hope of tomorrow is always there. and if we do not see tomorrow, then we will see Jesus sooner than we expected. i am glad my papers are in order and my passport to heaven has been approved.)

Seven Words of Praise

You may be thinking that I have been diverted down a rabbit track, because the Color of Worship study appears to have been discontinued. Not so. We are still worshiping; we are becoming vessels of worship. How can one truly worship God when we don't know how God wants to be worshiped?
Walk into church, sit down, listen to the choir and musicians, hear the preacher say a few words, go home. What part of that describes worshiping God? And what if you do become more active in the worship part of the service? Why or for whom are you participating? Because your worship leader says this is the way we do it? Or has your heart truly been prepared to be in God's presence, to sing God's praises, to glorify God and lift up His Name amongst the congregation of His people? You sure?
The word BLESS mentioned many, many times in the Old Testament Scriptures means to (1) Greatly Adore (2) Kneel Down (3) Abundantly altogether praise and congratulate (4) Salute (5) be Still (6) Thank. This word BLESS is translated from the Hebrew word BARAK, meaning to kneel down, surrender, submit. So, I ask again, are you ready to worship God in God's house?
Psalms 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise Thee with joyful lips. The word PRAISE here is translated from the Hebrew word HALAL, meaning (1) Clear (2) Shine (3) Boast (4) Rave (5) Celebrate (6) Clamorously foolish.
Psalms 21:13 Be Thou exalted, Lord, in Thine own strength: so will we sing and praise Thy power. The word PRAISE here is ZAMAR, which means (1) Striking with the fingers (2) Touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument (play an instrument of music) (3) Make music accompanied by the voice (4) Celebrate in song and music (5) Sing forth.
Genesis 29:35 And she (Leah) conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing. PRAISE = YADAH, meaning (1) Open handed [which indicates power, direction, means] (2) To throw {with that hand} (3) To revere or worship with extended hands (4) To cast out, confess, give thanks. Judah by definition means celebrated. People of praise.
Psalms 63:3 Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise Thee. PRAISE means SHABACH, shout with a voice of triumph! (1) Address in a loud tone (2) Commend (3) Glory in.
Deuteronomy 6:21 He is thy praise, and He is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen. PRAISE=TeHILLAH: (1) Laud (2) Hymn. See? Not only does He give me songs in the night, HE IS MY SONG. Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love. He will joy over thee with singing. God sings over you and I. Do we sing over Him? Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved: for thou art my praise (my TeHillah, my song)
Jeremiah 33:11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for His mercy endures for ever: and {the voice} of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord. We bring a sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. Yes or No? What are we sacrificing to be in God's presence? What are we not doing at the time we come together with God's people in God's house? PRAISE = TOWDAH (1) Choir of worshipers (2) Sacrifice of praise (3) An extension of the hand [as in promise or vow]
Be prepared. When you declare allegiance to one Master, the other one will fight tooth and nail to get you to turn back and retreat. Nothing compares to the mercies of God and nothing ever will. Choosing to serve, and worship, God will antagonize the devil and he will use every trick and wile he has to break your connection to Jesus Christ.
Are you ready to worship the Lord your God?
