Through The Cross - Spirit Song

THROUGH THE CROSS

By Terri Schlater - April 7, 2023

At the cross I see His face

On the cross I see His grace

Near the cross I see His blood

But through the cross I see Him rise.

At the cross I hear His groans

On the cross I hear Him speak,

“Father, forgive them for they do not know.”

But through the cross I see Him rise.

Through the cross I must go

To reach the other side

Where Christ has gone before

I now must go through His open door.

At the cross I smell death

On the cross I smell blood

Near the cross it covers me

Bu through the cross I see Him rise.

At the cross I taste victory

On the cross I taste honey in the Rock

Near the cross I taste that the Lord is Good

But through the cross I see Him rise.

Through the cross I must go

To reach the other side

Where Christ has gone before

I now must go through His open door.

At the cross I confess my sins

To God Almighty who forgives

On the cross my sins are nailed

To the Savior God sent to die for me

Near the cross grace is mine

For God has forgiven me.

There’s no other way to conquer death

Than to meet Him on the cross

And go with Him to the grave

To rise in life triumphant

When I have gone through the cross.

Through the cross I am bid

To enter in and be with Him

Through the cross I boldly walk

To find the peace my soul has sought.

Through the cross I can see

My Savior Jesus who waits for me

To take that step Of faith and go

Through the cross and onward home.

A Crucified Life - - Is Through Christ

2 Corinthians 5:18
All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 1223
Through: by the instrumentality of, by way of, for the sake of
From the Greek word 'dia' (pronounced dee-ah'): properly, across (to the other side), to go all the way through, "successfully across"

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST SAVES, CLEANSES US    Romans 5:10
For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!
    Romans 5:15
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man’s trespass (Adam's sin) the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift which comes through the grace of the one Man Jesus Christ overflowed to the many.

    Ephesians 1:7
In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

    Ephesians 2:13
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

    Acts 15:11
But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

    1 Peter 1:1, 2
This letter is from Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to God’s chosen people who are living as foreigners in the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia. God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and His Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed Him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace. (NLT Bible)

Though we cannot literally apply this blood to ourselves, for we have not in and of ourselves the power to do so, nevertheless it is applied by God Himself when we believe on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation. Do you believe?

It is our Faith in Christ Jesus that gets the spiritual gears and cogs shifting and aligning. First, we believe that God is God and that His Word is Truth. Secondly, in our recognition of this fact, we realize we are sinners and have trespassed against God's Word. And thirdly, realizing now that we have nowhere else to go but God, we humble ourselves, kneeling at the altar and repenting of our sinful words and our sinful actions. We ask for His forgiveness and we receive it.

Thanks Be To God -- Through Jesus Christ

Romans 7:18 & 25
(18) I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
(25) Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

As born again believers our souls are subject to the Law of God, but this flesh which clothes us is subject to the law of sin.

THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
Romans 8:1-3
(1) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
(2) For in Christ Jesus the Law of the Spirit of Life set you free from the law of sin and death.
(3) For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh, (4) so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 5349
Corruptible: perishable, what easily perishes disintegrates (corrupts) – like the break-down of the physical body during our natural lifetime.
*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 622
Perish:  fully destroy, cutting off entirely;  ("violently/completely perish") implies permanent (absolute) destruction;  cause to be lost (utterly perish) by experiencing a miserable end
1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which lives and abides for ever.
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 15:50
Now I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

It is impossible for these bodies we are born into to enter the kingdom of God and live, for these bodies, this flesh we wear, is corrupt and must perish, must die, because it is subject to, lives under the law of, sin. Sin has its own reward and that reward is death.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Proverbs 11:19
Genuine righteousness leads to life, but the pursuit of evil brings death.

WE BELIEVE GOD
Being born again means we believe God, we believe The Word of God is True and Faithful. We believe that God sent His only begotten Son to this perishing world that the world through Him might be saved and not lost.
John 3:14-18
(14) Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, (15) that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.
(16) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(18) The one believing in Him is not judged, but the one not believing already has been judged, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

We who believe urge you who have not heard to hear and believe. We beg you who have heard this gospel to surrender your hearts and your lives to Jesus Christ while there's still time.
We fervently, urgently pray for you to choose life and not death. What is done in this life, in this body, this flesh, will be judged by God and what remains after the judgment depends entirely on who we choose to follow now.

Hebrews 9:27, 28
(27) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment, (28) So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Dear Lord,
I recognize that I am a sinner, that I have sinned against You and against Your Word. Forgive me of the sins I have committed against You and come live in my heart. Make me to know You and Your Word that I might gain Your presence as my home for all eternity.
I believe that You sent Your only begotten Son to this world to take the punishment for my sins on the cross, that my sins were laid on Him. I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and I want Him to be the Lord of my life.
I ask also that You give me Your Holy Spirit to empower me to live a life that is pleasing to You. Help me lead a disciplined lifestyle that will make me holy so I can live forever in Your presence, for Your Word tells us to be holy that we may see God and live.
Thank You, Lord, for saving me, for forgiving me and for being my God. Help me to be Your child, Your servant. Be glorified O God, in me.
In Jesus' Name, I pray,
Amen

God Gives The Victory Through Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

*Strong's Ex. Conc. No. 3534
VICTORY: the result of a conquest, In the NT, this victory always refers to the conquest accomplished for the believer by Christ--which conquered all the powers of darkness (sin). Accordingly, death can not exert conquest over the believer.

GOD GIVES THE VICTORY

John 3:16, 17
(16) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 6:40
For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD
Romans 8:35-39

(35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
(36) As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
(37) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
(38) For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
(39) nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:8
But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:21
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 2:14
Now since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity, so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, that is, the devil.
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

What is God's Will for us? To have Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! If we don't have this victory, we are not living God's Will for our lives. When we do surrender our hearts and our lives to God, we live a life of victory, even if it may not appear to be victorious on the outside at times, we can be assured that we are, indeed, victorious on the inside. For God has given us the victory over sin and death and the grave through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for dying on the cross, taking my sins upon Yourself and paying the ultimate price for my wickedness. Thank You for loving me so much that I can never repay You. Please take my life and live in my heart. Make me Yours and fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I might live the live You have purposed for me. Make me to truly know just how Wonderful You are.
In Jesus' Name, I pray,
Amen.
