Blessed Seed

This is a two-fold promise. The first promise is to all who are descended from Abraham through Isaac,  and Jacob, as confirmed in Acts 3:25.
The second promise is to the faithful believers not of Israelite lineage, as seen in Galatians 3:8,9.

The promise of this blessing was made manifest in another descendant of Abraham: Jesus Christ. While both Joseph and Mary were descendants of the house of David, it is through Mary's bloodline that Jesus was born, thus becoming the Son of David and, therefore, able to sit on David's throne. Galatians 4:4.
Furthermore, in Galatians 4:4-7, we who believe that Jesus Christ Is Lord, are now grafted into Him (John 15:4, 5; Romans 11:24) and have become of the seed of Abraham.
Galatians 4:4-7
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Wherefore, you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
John 15:4-5
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in Me.
I AM The Vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me, you can do nothing.
Romans 11:24
For if you were cut off of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?
Ephesians 2:11-13
Therefore remember that formerly you—the Gentiles in the flesh, the ones being called the uncircumcision by that being called the circumcision, made by hands in the flesh--
that at that time you were separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, not having hope and without God in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you, the ones once being far off, have become near by the blood of Christ.

We are blessed through our faith in Jesus Christ. And as long as our faith remains in Christ, and we continue in obedience to God's Word, we will be forever receiving blessings of promise from God.

Identifying the Enemy's Tactics-Subtility

Genesis 3:1 "Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, Yes, has God said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"

Our enemy is subtle. Searching through different Biblical versions and Strong's Exhaustive Concordance for the word 'subtle/subtile' we see that this means crafty, sneaky, cunning, shrewd.
In Genesis 3:1 the devil also twisted the words which God had spoken to Adam. He said "every tree", which may have confused Eve and tricked her into answering him instead of ignoring him.
But when evil is whispered repeatedly into the ear, the heart makes a decision without thinking of the consequences.
God said death was the punishment for eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17). The serpent said, "You won't die, you will be like gods."  The enemy told an out and out lie.
Death is the result of sin. Sin is willful disobedience to what God has spoken. Eve willfully ate the fruit and then handed it off to Adam, who also ate of it. In that instant they both knew they had disobeyed God. But the serpent's tactical interference did not end there.
For when God asked why did they do it, neither took responsibility for their actions. Adam blamed Eve. Eve blamed the snake. The snake was punished as well. Reading Genesis 3:14, 15 we see that snakes had legs! "upon thy belly you shall go". The snake itself became cursed above all animals which God had created. Verse 15 says God put enmity (hatred, hostility) between the woman and the serpent.  Not fear, but hatred.
We are not to fear the enemy of our souls but be for ever on the attack and alert for him. Knowing how he works is a good start.

Questions God Asks-Genesis 3

I started this study 3 1/2 years ago and I am still only half way through it. But if I don't start sharing it now, I may never get to.

I began studying Questions God Asks because I was ruminating on how many times we ask God questions, our reasons for asking and His replies to us. And I wondered, "Does God ask questions of us? And if He does, how many times has God asked us a question and what is the answer to the questions that He asks?

So, I went digging through my Bible. The best place to start any search is the beginning; to Genesis I went then. Herein is my study and prelude to study.

1. How many questions does God ask, as related in the Scriptures, and what are those questions?

2. Why are the questions asked?

3. What is the implication, if any, behind the questions being asked?

God does not ask rhetorical questions. Every question asked demands an answer. Every answer leads to a result. This three-phase conversation has an implication in life. It is as if every question God has asked then, He is asking now.

Q1. Genesis 3:9 And The LORD GOD called unto Adam, saying, 'Where are you?'
A. The question is asked because God could not see Adam, for sin was upon Adam because he disobeyed God. God is holy and as such cannot look upon sin, for sin is unholy.

Q2,3. Genesis 3:11 And He said, 'Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat of the tree, whereof I commanded you not to?'
A. Adam's response was to blame the woman which God had given him.

Q4. Genesis 3:13 And The LORD GOD said to the woman, 'What have you done?'
A. Eve blamed the serpent.

Man's first response when confronted with his sin is to deny responsibility and blame others for his own errors.

But God holds us accountable for our actions and our words.

The first question God asks us, He asks because He yearns for our companionship. He longs to walk with us, speak with length with us. God desires to know us intimately. He loves us and wants to spend time with us.

And, yes, because of our inclination to yield to sin and temptation,we are covered in darkness, cloaked with deception and wickedness. It is because we are unable in and of ourselves to atone for our unrighteousness, that Christ was given as our sacrificial Lamb. It is He who covers us with Himself, that God may once again look on us.

I must ask myself, can God see me? Yes, I know He can, for the blood of His Son Jesus Christ has washed away my sins. I am forgiven for I have repented before God and acknowledged that I was a sinner. In His infinite mercy God forgave me, Christ came to live in me via The Holy Spirit and every day I grow a little bit closer to God through Jesus Christ.

Then I can turn to you and ask the same question: Can God see you?

Garden of God Herb Co.-Time (Thyme)

Been awhile since I began this series. Got a couple of them done and then went to another subject. But I have been asking God to organize my mind and my thoughts as part of my healing process. Getting organized in here is what I want to be done, also. I guess in order to clean my desk off properly, instead of filing things and losing them, just to find them at a later date is not the solution.

But God is a God of order and not a god of chaos. Everything He does, He does in His time, not ours. Thank God for that, huh? Otherwise nothing of importance would ever get done. He created the universe in 6 days.
DAY ONE:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and the darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light:
and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
DAY TWO:
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the
firmament from the waters which were above the firmament:
and it was so.

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
DAY THREE:
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters
called He seas: and God saw that it was good.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed is in itself, after his kind:
and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the third day.
DAY FOUR:
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven
to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs, and for seasons,
and for days, and for years:
And let them be for lights in the firmament of  the heaven
to give light upon the earth:
and it was so.
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day,

and the lesser light to rule the night:
He made the stars also.

And God set them in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth,
and to rule over the day and over the night,
and to divide the light from the darkness:
and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
DAY FIVE:
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life,
and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
And God created great whales,
and every living creature that moves,
which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind,
and every winged fowl after his kind:
And God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
DAY SIX:
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle,
And creeping thing,

and beast of the earth after his kind:

and it was so.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind,
and cattle after their kind,
and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind:

And God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them,
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,
and subdue it:
and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over
every living thing that moves upon the earth.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed,
which is upon the face of all the earth,
and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;
to you it shall be for meat.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

And God saw every thing that He had made,
and, behold, it was very good.
And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
DAY SEVEN:
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished,
and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made;
and He rested on the seventh day from all His work
which He had made.

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it:
because that in it He had rested from
all His work which God created
and made.
