Obtaining and Maintaining the Blessings of God - My Soul Prospers

BLESSED is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the way of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of The LORD; And in His law does he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth his fruit in his seasons, His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he does shall prosper.

I'll have you know that this is not the prosperity message you think it is. The Book of Psalms begins with How To Prosper The Soul. My Soul Prospers.

We should not be paying attention to un-Christlike chatter, the so-called wisdom of the world around us; it will only bring us down and cause us to fall. We should not enjoy living in sin. Christ died to set us free from the chains and penalties of sin. To turn away from all that Jesus Christ is is to wallow in pig slop. Turn back to Christ, child, before the opportunity evaporates and you cannot.

The church is being sifted: the wind removes the chaff (the inedible, unsustaining part) leaving only that which will cause growth and harvest. We see the turmoil in today's churches and wonder. Why are so many churches splitting apart? Who makes the decision to stop preaching the truth of Gods Word? Where are all the young people, the next generation of the church? How did this happen? And What are we going to do about it?

We are going to turn back to God. We are going to read and study God's Word. We are going to seek God's face by kneeling in prayer. Yes, we can pray anywhere and at any time; but getting on one's knees is admitting we are humbled by His presence. We desire to be with God, not without Him. We want to know what God has to say about what is bothering us, what angers us and how we are to deal with the world we live in today.

We are going to let The Holy Spirit of God sanctify us and make us holy. To do that we must study out what it means to be holy. We are going to surrender not just our hearts, but our minds and our bodies to Jesus Christ, that we might serve Him fully in the work that He has for us.

And once we have reached the place where He deems us fit to work in the field He has chosen for us, we are going to make a stand for what we believe; we will not back down, nor will we retreat or compromise. Our weapons are The Word of God and prayer. With our hands we will build God's kingdom and defend it.

We are a holy nation of servant warriors: we live for Jesus and He lives in us. He is our Servant King. He fights our battles, when we serve Him according to The Word. And the greatest battle He ever fought, He only had to fight once: the battle for our souls. When did He do that? "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Why did He do that? "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16, 17
