Self Discipline

In our daily lives, we struggle with doing the right thing, eating the right foods, wearing the right clothes. We compete in the job markets against each other for the right job. We race against time to accomplish our dreams and reach our goals. All of these are transitional, constantly changing. As time passes, our dreams change. When one goal is met, the next goal is sought.

As it is in life, so is it in spirit. The body of Christ faces these same challenges. We grow, we adjust, we change. We are tempted to give in and give up. Where there should be cooperation, there is competition. We race against time to reach as many lost souls as we can. Our desire is God's desire: save the lost, encourage the weak, pray for each other, build up the church, wait on God and listen for His voice. And when He begins to speak to us, we need to stay near Him to hear Him better.

When was the last time you really stopped and paid attention to God? If you can't remember, now is a good time to do so.
