A Table Spread - Bread

JOHN 6:27-58 The Discourse on Being The Bread of God

John 6:33
For The Bread of God is He Who comes down from heaven and gives Life to the world.

Only The Bread of God can give Life Eternal, for Christ is our Bread and in Him is Eternal Life. A life without Christ in it is a lonely, desperate life. His Life is Light and without this Light of Life within us, shining Its Lamp into The Truth of God's Word, we are not able to discern The Truths of God's Word, God's Will, God's Way.
There is more than enough Bread of God to feed the hungry in every generation. We dine on this Bread when we believe that God's Word is Faithful & True; when we believe that God's Word is His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. We dine on this Bread when it is offered to us.
To be broken is to suffer. God allowed His Bread to be broken in ministry, in service, in obedience to His Will by dying on the cross. And This Bread is ours when we take into our hearts and our hands The Love of God which This Bread exemplifies completely.
In Exodus 16 we read of The Manna, The Bread, which God sent down from heaven to His chosen nation Israel. Each was able to collect enough for the day, and twice as much on the day before the sabbath, a commanded day of rest for God's people.
In John 3:16,17 we read of The Bread which God sent down from heaven to the whole world. "For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
This Bread is given to us once on the cross. But daily we must gather The Bread of God into our hands, our hearts, our minds and our thoughts. Each of us can come to the cross and receive The Bread of God into our whole lives, every part of how we live should be reflecting the work of God's Bread in us.
The Bread of God teaches faithfulness in, and obedience to, God's Word, God's commandments and instructions.
    Deuteronomy 8:3 - Faithfulness
He humbled you, and in your hunger He gave you manna to eat, which neither you nor your fathers had known, so that you might understand that man does not live on bread alone, but on every Word that comes from the mouth of The LORD.
    Matthew 4:3,4 - Faithfulness
The tempter came to Him and said, “If You are The Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
But Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
Who came down from heaven to give Life to the world? Jesus Christ. Who is The Bread of God? Jesus Christ. Who is The Bread of Life? Jesus Christ. Who satisfies the hungry? Jesus Christ.
They who partake of The Bread of Life will never hunger for the unsatisfying things of this world. They will seek to know more of Jesus Christ. They will not be content with worldly pleasures, but desire to know the joy of The Lord more fully.
We spend hours in our bibles. Reading it. Praying over it. Studying it out to fully know and understand and be able to take in what we are reading. As a child grows from milk in the bottle to steak on the grill, so the appetite of the Christian grows. We are hungry for The Bread which God gives. And He gives of it generously.
Who is hungry for The Bread of Life? I am. Though He satisfies me daily, yet I hunger to know Him even more. Do you hunger for something, Someone, to satisfy your soul?
