Now is not the time to sit back and relax. There is no higher state of consciousness. Random acts of kindness are just that: random; inconsistent, worthless without faith in Christ to back them up. Tolerance is not love. And tolerating other religious beliefs will only get us in trouble with God.
I don't want to get in trouble with God. I want to be in God's favor. As my friend Tammy C reminded me, "I am blessed and highly favored." Not because I am labeled 'Christian', but because I am obedient in His Word and faithful according to His Word.
If I sit back and relax, how is that seeking God's kingdom? How does sitting and doing nothing increase God's kingdom? Who gets prayed for? Who prays?
There is another variation of New Age philosophy making rounds, and being condoned by 'Christians' that if you just wait for it, love will come to you and you will be overflowing with such love that you must love others with it. This is so not true.
Deuteronomy 4:29
But if, from now on, you seek The Lord your God, you shall find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Matthew 6:33
First you seek the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things (vs. 24-34) shall be added unto you.
Psalm 69:32
The humble shall see this, and be glad: And your heart shall live that seek God.
Psalm 63:1
O God, You are my God; early will I seek You: my soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You, In a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.
Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says The Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall you call upon Me, and you shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken (ie: listen, hear, give heed) to you. And you shall seek Me, and find Me, when you shall search for Me with your whole heart. And I will be found of you, says The Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from al the places where I have driven you, says The Lord; and I will bring you again into the place where I caused you to be carried away captive.
Amos 5:8
Seek Him that makes the seven stars and Orion, And turns the shadow of death into the morning, And makes the day dark with night: That calls for the waters of the sea, And pours them out upon the face of the earth: THE LORD IS HIS NAME.
Isaiah 55:6,7
Seek ye The Lord while He may be found, Call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return to The Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; And to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
