JEALOUS

Exodus 34:14

For you shall worship no other god: for The LORD, Whose Name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

Deuteronomy 4:24

For The LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Hebrews 12:29

"For our God is a consuming fire."

    With God there is no coexist, only GOD. He is the zero-tolerance God. When Moses asked, "Who shall I tell the people sent me to them?" God did not reply I am (name of any god here) but I AM THAT I AM. [Exodus 3:14] 

    It is the first commandment, the first law, that is given to us to obey. 

Exodus 20:1-6

And God spoke all these words, saying:

“I am The LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

“You shall have no other gods before Me.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

 “You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

“But showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."

    Hebrews 12:25-29 are a warning. God has never stopped working to accomplish His purpose. While Noah and his sons were building the ark, it was to save as many people as would believe God, that they would get in the ark. But, only Noah and his immediate family believed God; so, only Noah's family got in the ark. God closed the door, so even if Noah had had the means to do so, it was impossible for him to reopen the door that had been closed by God. [Genesis 7:16] God is still trying to save as many people as He can. The Door is still open. 

    But here in this passage of Hebrews The Lord warns us that this time not only will earth be destroyed, but the heavens above us, as well. (verse 27) The people who hope to escape God's wrath by going deep into space to live are mistaken in believing that they will outrun God's anger and jealousy. For the heavens--the stars and planets and moons--the universe(s)--will be destroyed. Who will remain?

    However, the people who place their faith in God for their salvation through His means of Deliverance, His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, will be saved from God's wrath. (verse 28). We won't be consumed when God destroys the earth and the heavens. 

    The God of the Holy Bible does not interact with the gods of this world. God does not coexist, He Exists. God is not existential: God is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. That means He is All-Powerful/All-Mighty; All-Places-Everywhere-At The Same Time; All-Knowing. He knows He is The Only Living God Who Ever Was and Ever Will Be. He is Everlasting, Eternal. He is The God Who Is Not Made: The Uncreated God. 

    All other gods are created in the imaginations of men and women. All other gods are made by hand. They eat not, nor do they see. Yet, generations of nations the world over worship these manmade gods to whom they have built temples and churches. They have sculpted idols, drawn icons and painted murals to these gods. They apply worldly wisdom and structure to the gods they have created and worship these empty vessels and strange figures. They pray to these useless gods and expect the nothingnesses to answer them and reward them. 

    God will reward them for their wickedness, unless they repent and believe in The Name above all names--JESUS CHRIST--for their Lord and Savior. No other name in all of the world and the universe can save people from the punishment and damnation for their sins. 

    But God Is Greater than any god you may name. His holiness demands our holiness. His Ways are far above our ways; yet, to those who encounter Him and believe, He provides not only The Door, The Gate (Jesus Christ), through which we may enter The Way of Holiness (faith-walk), but He gives us a Guide (His Holy Spirit) to walk with us, as well. 

    May we never deliberately, willfully, disobey God and expect to get away with it. We will worship The Lord our God. We will serve The Lord our God. In The Way in which He desires to be served and worshiped. We have walked through the blood of Christ to enter the Ark of Salvation. Here we call to you who have not yet believed, and urge you to hear and come in.

Isaiah 57:15

For thus says the One Who is high and lifted up, Who inhabits eternity, Whose Name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite."

    Eternity is a destination, a place; a destination to be sought and found. It is one of the places where God lives. As this verse tells us, God also inhabits--lives in, dwells with--the person who is contrite (repentant) and of a lowly spirit (humble, meek) that He may revive us (restore, give new life to).

Who among the gods is like You, O LORD? Who is like You--majestic in holiness, revered with praises, performing wonders?

1 Corinthians 3:17

Ephesians 2:15

by abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace.

Colossians 1:19, 20

For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross.
