Breakfast of Champions

Both our home and our house are under reconstructive remodeling. Half the basement is living quarters and pantry, the other half is going to be laundry-workshop when fixed. Upstairs are two master bedrooms, the office (which is complete) 1 full bath and 1 half bath, the kitchen, the dining room and the living room. Now that my husband can see every shade on the color wheel, we are doing the house up nice.

The basement stairwell is a wet sand hue. The basement living quarters are paneled and carpeted. Upstairs my room is pink and white. The office is painted a warm yellow shade called Fleeting Fawn; when the sun rises and shines into our office it is absolutely gorgeous.

When we get to the kitchen, I have selected a pale yellow called Cornmeal. And I will be doing a custom border all along the top of the two walls that don't have cabinetry. I tell you these things to introduce you to our God, should you not know Him. Psalm 34:8" O taste and see that The Lord is good: blessed is the man who trusts in Him" will be written across it. And I am thinking I will have all of our friends sign it. I like different. And being someone who trusts in The Lord with all of my heart makes me different.

I have perfect peace. I do not worry as much as I used to, in fact I would like to believe that All is well in Jesus' Name for every aspect of my life, our life. Our finances have been blessed that our needs and wants have been given. Our love is blessed because we honor God with our lives. We tithe of our incomes, of our time, of our gifts and talents, of our hopes and dreams and goals. Our home is blessed because we bless God with our home.

Our home is open to visitors, friends, family, strangers. You knock on our door and want to tell us about your religion, we tell you about our Savior. You dial our numbers and we will pray with you, encourage you, lift you up right where you are. You dine at our table and God's blessings are invoked when we pray. You know our kids and are welcome in our home. You know our testimony and our witness is for God's glory, and none of the credit is due us for anything we have done.

Taste and See, two major senses which are given us by God are meant to draw us closer to Him, as well. Taste The Word, The Manna from God, The Bread of Life. While Taste and See are two major players in the sensory world, they are different but still able to work together well. How would you know, understand, see? how The Word tastes, if you cannot first have it cross your lips, lie on your tongue and then swallow it? You can't.

After that first bite, that first lesson, that first Sunday School class, that first message preached, that first small group session, that first knowledge of the Truth of the Holy Word of God, we hunger for more. This world is so full of fakes and falsehoods, deceits and greed, tainted messages that twist Scriptures or just plain leave them out that quite a few people really do want to know What is Real?

God Is Real. God's Word Is Real. God's Righteousness Is Real. God's Holiness Is Real.

I want The Whole Word of God. I am hungry and thirsty for righteousness and I will be filled. God says so in Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are they (me, you) who hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."
Psalm 63:1 "A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah. You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water."
Psalm 107:9 "for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things."
Proverbs 10:24 "What the wicked dread will overtake them; what the righteous desire will be granted."
Proverbs 21:21 "Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor."

Gee all of these promises in God's Word sound yummy. Let us find some more to savor and learn.

Isaiah 55:1&2 ""Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost..Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare."
John 4:14 "but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
John 6:35 "Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

I believe. My hunger for Christ is satisfied in knowing Him, loving Him, serving Him. My thirst is quenched in His love, in His arms, in His heart. I believe that Jesus Christ Is Lord. Lord of All. Lord of my life. Lord of every beat of my heart. I believe that I am His and He is mine.

My voice is His and I sing for Him, under the anointing of The Holy Spirit of God. For Him I study, I write, I preach, I witness, I encourage and I sing. In fact, I will do whatever He wants me to do when He wants me to do it. Remember, it is more important to be obedient to God, than it is to make sacrifices in His Name. He may call us to do what seem to be silly things, what seems to be little jobs or, to us, unimportant things. Do them anyway. God uses the weak things, the foolish things of this world and this world's understanding to confound and confuse the strong: the strong-willed, the strong-minded. He has His own way of doing things and He wants to do them through us. O taste and see that The Lord is good.

Preparing for Pentecost-Psalm 51

Psalm 51:1
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Colossians 2:14

..And from Jesus Christ, who is The Faithful Witness, and The First Begotten Of The Dead, and The Prince Of The Kings Of The Earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.
Romans 5:8
But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Proverbs 31:21
She (the virtuous woman) is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
Isaiah 53:1-12

Psalm 51:3
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Psalm 32:5
I acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and my iniquity have I not hid. I said, 'I will confess my transgressions unto The Lord'; and You forgave me the iniquity of my sin.
Romans 10:9-10
That if we confess with our mouths The Lord Jesus, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. For with the heart we believe unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Galatians 3:22
But The Scripture has concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right (constant) spirit within me.
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, says The Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Psalm 51:11-15
Cast me not away from Your presence; and take not Your Holy Spirit away from me.
Restore unto me the joy of my salvation; and uphold me with Your free Spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors Your ways; sinners will be converted unto You.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, Thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
O Lord, You open my lips; and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
2 Corinthians 3:17
Now The Lord is that Spirit: and where The Spirit of The Lord is, there is liberty.
Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power, after The Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judah, and in all Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 2:1-4
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with The Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as The Spirit gave them utterance.
Galatians 5:22-26
But the fruit of The Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in The Spirit, let us also walk in The Spirit.
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

God has redeemed my soul from the snares and traps of Satan. I have been redeemed (bought back) through the blood of Jesus Christ, when He obediently surrendered His will to His Father's will and died on the cross carrying the weight of my sins upon Him.
When the spear pierced His side, and water poured forth, it was because His heart broke within Him. For when God had laid the sins of the world upon The Lamb whom God had chosen to carry the blood-guiltiness of our transgressions and iniquities, no longer could Jesus be in God's presence: for God is holy. Sin cannot exist in God's presence; God had to turn His face away from His only begotten Son and when that happened, Jesus heart broke open within Him.
Has your heart broken open within you to the point of submission and surrender? Truly? Have you put God's desires, God's needs, God's will, ahead of your own? Do not answer me. For as these questions are put forth to you, they have first been put to me.
Paul was right when he said, "I die daily." For when we crucify our will and submit ourselves to God's will, it is then that the desires of our hearts and minds die. To be replaced by the will of God.
First and foremost, God's will for us is that we repent. Repent of our wickedness. Repent of our disobedience to Him. Repent of any wickedness we are aware of and know which resides in us. Repent means to turn back from; cease to do any longer. When we give God our hearts, He begins to clean house. He removes the bigger sins which are visible. But removing the roots of these sins takes time. It is just like gardening. Think of our hearts as God's garden. When God takes up residence in someone's heart, the light of God's holiness reveals sin, and in order for God to stay in us, the sin needs to go. So we repent.
Secondly, God's will for us to be sanctified. Now that the surface of our heart is clean and shiny, the nooks and crannies need to be fully cleansed. So The Spirit of God begins to work in our thoughts and our minds. But to even get that far, we need God's Holy Spirit in us and on us.
Galatians 5:22,23 speaks of the fruit of The Spirit. There is only one fruit, but it has many parts, like an orange. The visible part is the rind, the outer rim if you will. We remove that and set it aside for future use. Next is the inner covering, which protects the individual slices of the fruit. That needs to be removed also, in order to reach the juicy bits of fruit.
The Spirit is all of these: outer rind, inner rind, slices of fruit, juice and seeds. Therefore, The Spirit of God can be seen as that which covers us, protecting us. The inner Spirit covers us inwardly, sheltering us from that which could take us apart. His fruit, His characteristics begin to flow within us. There is one Spirit, but many aspects of that Spirit can be seen, can be felt, can be heard, can be touched. "And where The Spirit of The Lord is, there is liberty."
We are able to come together as one in the bonds of fellowship because we recognize this Spirit in each other. Each believer in The Lord Jesus Christ has a measure of The Holy Ghost breathed upon him or her at baptism. As we walk in The Spirit and live in The Spirit, then The Spirit of God is with us always.
But daily we are tempted and daily the death of our faith is sought after by Satan and his spirits, and they are many. As the demon within the man spoke when questioned by Christ, "We are legion". Tens of thousands. And that was just within one man. Multiply that by the current population of this earth 6.9 billion and you can see that Satan's minions are not few.
But of this population, perhaps, and optimistically on my part, perhaps 3 billion of these are Christians. In this smaller section the term Christian is broken down by denomination. But let me remind you: it is not denomination which God looks at to determine who will enter heaven for ever: it is the heart of the believer. But it is this heart, where The Spirit of God lives and works, that will be able to come against the many spirits of the enemy.
Once you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, a spiritual target is place on you. Whereas Satan once ignored you because you were already his slave, now because your heart and your mind and your will (desires, wants, emotions) are no longer directed on his lusts, you have become someone he desires to destroy. He will use every weapon at his disposal to throw against you, every wandering thought, every meditation of the heart, every person in your life to bring you to your knees and take you out.
Guess what? You who have chosen Christ as your own and opened your heart to God and The Spirit of God can overcome everything the devil will try to use against you. As long as you stay near God and in His protection, the devil cannot destroy you or your faith in God. As long as you read His Word and live in it and have it live in you, you win. Jesus Christ already beat the devil and won, when He died on the cross and rose from the dead; when every drop of His blood which flowed out of His body and onto the generations of mankind: onto you and onto me.
I have read the end of The Bible: we win. Rise up from where you huddle in fear and doubt! For Christ has set you free. You who were once dead in your sins are now alive in Christ. Rejoice! Be happy. Be joyful. Be aware of who you are now and where you stand. Watch and pray: be alert, be careful, be vigilant and diligent in your actions and activities. Prayer keeps us close to our God and draws us closer daily to His side. Prayer feeds our spirits. The Word of God, the written Scriptures, feeds our souls, our minds/thoughts, our bodies, our hopes/dreams/visions/goals.
And again, with much love in Christ and for you, I say Be blessed.

Lump of Clay

Creator, my Creator.
I was once a lump of clay,
hard and immovable,
Unchanged and disarrayed.
But You transformed me,
You remolded me,
You breathed Your life into my life~
I am new.

You're Creator. My Creator.
You're my Savior. My Redeemer.
You're the God I choose
And I can never lose
With You
By my side
In my life
On my mind.
Creator. My Creator.

Create in me
Purpose
Intended for use
You've transformed this lump of clay
Into a vessel of honor for You.

Create in me
Desire
Longing for love
You've transformed this void in my heart
Into a vessel of honor for You.

You're Creator. My Creator.
You're my Savior. My Redeemer.
You're the God I choose
And I can never lose
With You
By my side
In my life
On my mind.
Creator. My Creator.

The Knowledge of Choice

Holiness is only a choice when we choose to be holy. BUT holiness by God's definition is a command, for to be able to stand in God's presence holiness is required.

The sinful nature is inherent within us. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil had its fruit eaten when Adam and Eve tasted it way back when. Because all life came through Adam and Eve, so too does all death. For by their actions, disobeying God, sin came into the world. But through Christ's actions, becoming flesh, dying on the cross, and rising from the dead, sin was overcome and death was conquered.

No more does sin have to rule a person's life, nor our choices. Now we can choose to believe that Jesus Christ Is Lord, or remain in a sinful nature and refuse to believe that Jesus Christ Is Lord. Choice determines destination.

Though we have the knowledge of good in us, it is not enough to be good or do good things. No one is good enough to enter into heaven on their terms. Acts of kindness, pay-it-forwards, and the golden rule are done believing that this will make us look good in God's eyes. Even people with bad intentions can do these things; it does not make them good.

Only Jesus Christ can bring us into God's presence. Only God, through The Holy Spirit, can see a person's heart and reveal what lies therein. Only The HOLY Spirit can guide a person into holiness, transforming us from what we think will make God happy into knowing how to please God.

1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.
Ecclesiastes 12:14
For God will judge every deed, along with every secret, whether good or evil.

O Lord, make me holy. Whatever it takes make me pure in heart, clothe me with The Righteousness of Your Holy Word, cleanse my mind and renew my spirit. I want to spend eternity with You, O Lord, starting now. In Jesus' Name, The Name Which Is Above All Names, Amen.

Can You Drink From My Cup?

Good morning. As I sat here drinking my coffee, wondering which photo to post for a morning greeting, I was led to this one, where I had been sitting under my folks' olive tree here. And then The Holy Spirit led me into His study.

Can You Drink From My Cup?
Matthew 26:39 "And He went a little further, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me: nevertheless not as I will, but as Thou wilt."

Matthew 20:22 "But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able."

So, here is the question: of all the cups we drink of or from, have you made the decision to drink from this one? Have you gone 'a little further' and committed yourself to finishing what's in your cup?

The cross is not at the bottom of our cups: it's part of what we drink into our body as a whole: body, soul, spirit. What God pours into our cups we need to be willing to down, to the last dregs, so to speak.

Eternal life is ours: it's at the bottom of the cup we are holding. What appears to be an empty cup in our hand is the fulfillment of all that the cup had held.

Rejoice, Rejoice, O Christian,
Life up your voice and sing!
Eternal hallelujahs,
to Jesus Christ our King!
The Hope of all who seek Him,
The Help of all who find;
None other is so loving,
So good and kind.

He lives! He lives!
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me, and talks with me,
Along life's narrow way!
He lives! He lives!
Salvation to impart.
You ask me how I know He lives:
He lives within my heart.
